Sorry MATE, Engagement Canceled Chapter 12

Chapter 12 Miranda trembled as she approached his quarters. Although she was thankful to this man for sparing her life and taking her out of that nightmare of a cell yesterday, he still terrified her. Now, Miranda was going to meet with him in his chambers alone! Oh, how she dreaded this moment! She did not want to see him at all! She walked until she reached his doorstep. She now stood in front of the large double doors, hesitant to knock. 'You can do this!' Miranda's wolf cheered her on as she took the bold step and knocked on the door. She waited and waited, but there was no response. She was scared to knock again, especially with Madame Jane's endless warnings about meeting the Alpha before she came here. "You only need to knock once. No matter how long you have to wait, do not disturb him because he hates that. Do not speak to him without being spoken to, and most importantly, you must never question any decision he makes." Miranda shivered as she stood there with her palms all sweaty. After waiting for what seemed like forever, she finally heard his response from inside. "Come in." She opened the door and walked into the room. It was so big that one could get lost in here. Miranda wondered how he could sleep here all alone, for the room was very spacious and cold. It also seemed empty if it weren't for the exquisite furnishings. He was seated at his work table, signing some papers, before she came and stood in front of him. "Good morning, Alpha Damian," she greeted. He only responded to her greeting with a cold glare, making her almost jump out of her skin. However,  she stood with her head high. She needed to be bold. She had to be. He then put down his fountain pen and went straight to the point. "The messenger I sent is back, which means that Alpha Walden must have received my message by now. I only wanted to inform you that the three days you have started now. If your Alpha doesn't come by then, I don't need to remind you what will happen." She nodded her head. "Thank you, Alpha Damian. Thank you for everything, for sparing my life, for the shelter, for..." "Get out!" No more words were needed to be said as she kindly excused herself and headed her way out. A young lady about her age barged into the room with her shoulders held high like she owned the place. Miranda was about to move out of her way when Katrina bumped into her on purpose. "Sorry!" Even though she was not at fault, Miranda still felt the need to apologize. Maybe the woman would mirror her kindness. "Watch where you're going, idiot!" Katrina spat before pushing her out of the way. Miranda almost fell but thankfully held her balance. Alpha Damian remained at his desk as he watched it all but did not say anything. 'Who was that woman, and why was she so mean?' Miranda wondered. She turned to spare a glance, and the next moment shocked her. The woman was already on her knees between his legs, unzipping his trousers. She quickly turned to look away, but her curiosity made her hesitate for a second. "You're welcome to join us, dear." Katrina laughed sarcastically, but Miranda kept walking towards the exit, paying no mind to her words. Just as she was about to reach the door, she began to hear suction sounds next. She quickly scurried out of the room, not bothering to look back for a second more. *** A few hours earlier Samara had just returned from training when she saw the messenger standing at the gate of the pack-house. He spoke to the guards as they were reluctant to let him in, so she was curious to know what was happening. After sending her troops inside, she went to meet with the guest. "Who are you, and who have you come to see?" She asked him. "I am messenger Stanley from the Silver Pack. I come bearing a message for Alpha Walden of the Night Shadow Pack." "And who is this message from?" "It's from Alpha Damian of the Silver Pack, ma'am." Samara held out her hand and said, "Give it to me." The messenger shook his head and said, "I'm afraid I can't do that, ma'am. I am supposed to give this letter to Alpha Walden by hand." "Well, Alpha Walden isn't around. He's training and won't be back for a couple of hours. Given the circumstances, I'm sure the guards won't let you stay here for very long since you don't belong to this pack. If there's any chance that Alpha Walden will receive your message, I'm your best shot." The messenger still stood hesitant before the guards began to pester him again."Young man, you can't stay here. We do not allow outsiders in our territory. If it weren't for your pack, you wouldn't even be allowed to cross the border, let alone reach here, so you have to leave now." Samara smirked, walking away. "Suit yourself. I'm sure your Alpha will be pleased to hear that you failed to deliver his message. He might even spare your life." She had already entered through the gates before she heard the young man calling out to her desperately. "Wait! Please, ma'am, wait!" She turned around, reaching where he stood again as she held her hand out to receive the letter. The messenger shakily put it in her hand. "Thank you. You can leave now, and rest assured, I'll make sure your letter gets to the Alpha himself." She took the wrapped scroll from his hand and entered through the gates, the Beta's quarters, and finally, her room. What she saw today no doubt surprised her, for it was a letter from the Silver Pack's Alpha. She was unsure if the other packs had ever received a message from the Silver Pack since those werewolves rarely associated with anyone. The letter must contain an important message for Alpha Walden to have received. 'What could it be?' Samara wondered.
