"Mother how have you been?" She asked after her mother calmed down a bit. They were now seated at the wooden bed.
"How else would I be my daughter, your father seemed to have gotten worst as he no longer gets any coins from me".
"He had sold off all my valuables and dowries, squandered them all on gamblings and drinks. I am just living with hope that the gods would make my daughter wipe my tears" she concluded and Galene's heart shattered as tears stream down her eyes. Her mother was been suffering in the of her heartless father.
"Everything would be fine mother, let's trust and believe in the gods for even my destiny and future, he knows them all" she breathe out and her mother nodded.
She knew she couldn't even believe her own words. Even though she had lost hope in her future as she had been sold off, she would not let her mother see through her eyes, the pain and anguish they held.
"Mother I would go continue from where you stopped" she said as she picked up the clay pot which her mother had dropped on sighting her and luckily it hadn't broken.
"No my daughter, you just came back from a long journey and you need to rest before returning" her mother uttered trying to get the pot from her.
"I am telling you that I am good mother, I do not do any work at the castle as all works were done by the elderly slaves and married ones , well apart from being tortured by the master on the bed which is the only work the sex slaves does. She mumbled the last part which her mother obviously heard but kept quiet.
She took the pot and headed to Diana's cottage as it was the time for their usual morning routine of fetching water. She wondered how her friend took the news.
"Galene!!!" Her friend yelled out and rushed towards her, hugging her tightly not believing her friend was finally back. Galene sighed as she gently disengaged from the tight embrace as she was finding it difficult to breath.
"What happened to you Galene?" My father told me the news of you been bought by the dangerous Guthram clan leader. How do you cope with such ferocious man Galene" Diane bombarded her with different questions.
Sighing, Galene picked up her pot and turned."let's go to stream, I would answer all your questions later Diana. Now isn't the time for that as I sneaked out of the castle and when the master finds out, he would request my head on a platter" she responded and Diana sighed hoping her friend would tell her all later.
They walked to the stream having little discussions as Diana fill in Galene on the activities she had missed. She told her how Zach had asked of her multiple times and how the maidens gossip her name.
How they called her all sorts of names because of what her father did. Most even said she was lucky while some said she maneuvered her ways into the Master Damien's Bed to become one of his sex slave.
She kept quiet because she won't blame the maidens as they were all blinded by stupidity to always wish for them to become a sex slave to that inhumane Master.
"See the stupid girl who begged her father to allow her become a sex slave to Master Damien of Guthram Clan" Amora uttered disgustingly raising her voice so the two girls standing at a distant could hear her clearly.
"What did you just said Amora" could you repeat so I could get to hear you well" Diana irked as she drew back Amora who acted as though she wasn't the one that just spoke minutes ago as she ignored Diana.
"You don't think you could pretend as though you didn't hear me Amora, I do not want to loose my temper now so you'd better repeat that word you said" she shrieked and Amora rolled her eyes.
"What Diana? Why are you acting as though you didn't know what I meant or are you also pretending or ignoring the fact that your stupid friend begged her father to sell her off to the powerful Master Damien so she could become one of his s*x slave. Does she think she could fool everyone in the village into believing she was forced and sold to the Master. she snapped angrily pushing off Diana who stood by her way and walking out of their mist not without glaring at Galene.
"Whore she muttered and Diana tried rushing after her but was held back by Galene.
"Ignore her and let her be Diana, they can say whatever they want to say about me, I do not blame them as bit. If it wasn't for the kind of father I have, I would never be in a situation like this. Let us hurry to the stream as I would still prepare food for my mother before returning to the Castle" Galene muttered dryly and Diana sighed still blowing hot but decided to listen to her friend.
After two rounds of fetching water, Galene prepared enough food that could sustain her mother for atleast 2days and did other necessary chores before she headed back to the castle as it was already noon and the journey to the castle is a long distance journey from her Clan.
Galene stood by the roadside as she waited for carriage. She had been here for hours as the sun seemed to be preparing it's return but no carriage came-by.
"Will I be trekking thousands of kilometers to reach Guthram community" she mumbled already frustrated.
"Master Damien was going to kill her if he finds out she left the castle. She shouldn't have gone out. "She was worried about her mother that she didn't bother to think well how she was going to come back knowing fully well Gida is a very small Clan and carriage riders are very few in Gida".
"How would she get to the carriage, would she be caught by the master and butchered or should she just return back to her house".
