(Frederik's POV)
"Mi amore? Do you know each other?" I suddenly blurted out, looking curiously at both of them.
Leysa just gave a smile and laugh.
"Yeah, we met each other back in Spain, six months ago. I courted her, and obviously I'm busted. But I'll try my luck again, now I see her here. So, mi amore, how come you’re here in my best friend's mansion?" Edward answered me and he turned his attention to Leysa.
And when I found out that Leysa and Edward knew each other, I couldn't help but clench my fist, with the annoyance I felt towards the situation, we are all in.
I fixed my gaze to Leysa, I can't say any words right now, and nothing comes out of my mouth. I just want to listen to their conversation to learn more about their true relationship to each other.
Leysa smiled and answered my best friend's question, "I am their maid of honor back when they got married, I am his sister-in-law, in simplest saying, I am Diana's sister. Nice to meet you again, Eddy"
And she extended her arm to have a hand shake with Edward.
"Wow! Just wow, Ed. So you are in love with my sister huh?" my wife said, also slightly shocked about the revelation that just revealed.
"Ah yeah! I am so in love with Leysa, I think its love at first sight though. We got a strong relationship, I mean friendship back in Spain, so even if she take me down then, we still remain as good friends," Edward replied to Diana and I saw him stared intently to Leysa.
"So maybe you already moved on with your ex-fiancé, Mi amore? Oh well that bastard, just don't let him show his face to me, cause I will make him feel my strong fist, though!" Ed said, and then it hits me hard.
And I can't stop asking myself, are they that close, thatLeysa even told her past to him?
(Leysa's POV)
"Oh com'on Eddy, let's not talk about it here. But to answer your question, yeah I think so, I am now fully healed," I answered and smiled at Eddy.
And I thought to myself, am I really fully healed from the pain I feel? Am I really ready to forgive them? I smiled in my mind, "Forgive them, my butt!"
[Healing means forgiving them.]
--and I will never forgive them, that's why I will never be healed.
I will never ever forget what they did to me; the scar they caused me will never be erased.
There is no cure for the pain I feel until now.
I will never be free from this sadness and madness I am feeling,
and I will always be a prisoner of this unfaithful love affair.
(Third person's POV)
Dinner ended with only Edward and Leysa talking, usually catching up with almost six months of being apart from each other. They are really good friends, though.
While Diana and Fred only occasionally engaging in the conversation of the two.
Fred is so consumed in the state of the relationship between Leysa and Edward. He feels nothing else now but the fear of being robbed of something very important. Edward is his very best friend, they are just in their mother’s tummy when they are already destined to be friends but he also can't afford the fact that someone is talking to Leysa, with someone else holding his sister-in-law even though it’s his friend.
Fred was so addicted to Leysa's presence, even though he did not want to admit it to himself.
He is already addicted to her taste, to her sweet and extraordinary taste.
That he was willing to leave his wife, even if it also means losing WILCO from his name, just for a woman he never thought would cause him to make the greatest mistake of his life.
"Why don't we take a vacation? How about this weekend? What Fred? Let's go for a trip to Ilocos, don't you have a beach house there?" Edward suddenly said, because after their dinner, Ed and Fred decided to hang out on the veranda to breathe fresh air while the two ladies were left in the kitchen to clean the dishes.
Fred turned his attention to Edward after he suggested to go for a weekend getaway.
"Sure, we haven't been able to unwind for a long time because of our busy schedules," Fred just replied to his friend who is now smiling from ear to ear, that made him a little annoyed with him. He did not know why he was suddenly disgusted by Edward's presence, and that’s why he could not help but ask,
"Do you really like her huh?" Fred said and faced his vast garden again.
"Yeah. I love her. She is the best thing that ever happened to me. So I will try my luck again to her, bro. I will court her again, could you help me?"Edward answered truthfully.
"I can't promise you that I can help you about it, Ed," Fred replied seriously to his friend.
"And why is that, you are her brother-in-law, and I am your best friend, and I think you already know me well, that I am a good man for her. And I noticed you have a special bond, bro! So please, help me win her heart. She is safe with me and in fact I saw her vulnerable side back when we were in Spain. She is so lost in her thoughts. She is almost like a doll with a battery, moving only if someone switching her on. Her eyes are so full of sadness and fear of abandonment. And I also witnessed all her performances as a lyrical dancer, that her gracefulness was clapped by all but I know more than that, her emotions while making her every move in dancing --the rhythm is so full that any time soon, she will just break like a glass. So from that time, I decided to be with her, to be her knight in shining armor, her comfort zone, her safe haven. I don't know everything she's been through but it changed her a lot. In the few months I was with her, I also saw the changes in her personality. And day by day, I always making it sure that I can make her feel the love I have for her but then she's getting fiercer, until the day I feared the most came –the time, she dumped me. Just shit, bro ... I was really hurt, not because I was bashed or my pride just got trumpled on as a man for the first time, but I really love her, that even though she rejected my love for her, I still decided to be her ally, to be his shoulder to lean on always even only as a friend and then it turns out okay, not until the day she decided to go home, she said she was already ready– "
"So are you talking about me huh."
Edward’s story was interrupted when Leysa suddenly spoke who was already behind them, comfortably leaning against the veranda’s entrance.
So the two men turned to her direction.
"Nah! Just sharing to my best friend the greatest love story we have, mi amore!" Edward said kindly to Leysa, who just smiled back at him and walks towards the two men.
"Maybe you talked about how I dumped you, hmm. Just kidding, Eddy! You know I love you ..." Leysa said hanging while looking at Fred who was also looking seriously at her, that’s why she gave him a sweet smile and she looked back at Edward.
"As a friend? Haist, you're hurting my feelings again, mi amore!" Ed added and pretended to be hurtfully sad by Leysa’s words. That made Leysa giggles at her friend’s childish mind sometimes.
Later, Diana also arrived on the veranda carrying some bottles of beer for her husband and his friend.
The four talked for the whole time, and they even talked about the planned out of town vacation this weekend.
The night was also getting dark when Edward decided to go home.
“Just sleep here, Eddy. I guess Fred and Diana won’t mind it," Leysa said when Edward was about to leave the house.
Ed looked at his friend Fred, who had a really bad mood he guessed, so he just smiled and he himself refused Leysa's invitation to him to just stay for the night.
"It’s alright, Mi amore ... I have an early meeting tomorrow that’s why I need to go home tonight, just see you this weekend." He just said and smiled at Leysa, and bid a goodbye to Diana and when he turned to say goodbye to his friend, he first whispered something to him that made Fred a little bit uneasy,
"I don't know anything ... but I'm on your side, bro."
