The person chewing gum picked up his phone and stepped aside to make a call, as Shen Heyu tried to infer the identity of the person on the other end from his conversation.
But Scar Face stepped forward, blocking Shen Heyu’s line of sight.
"What are you looking at?" he asked menacingly, as if he feared Shen Heyu might pull some cunning trick and vanish into thin air right before his eyes.
"I’m already in your hands, what are you afraid of? How much did that woman pay you to kidnap me? I’ll pay ten times that amount, just let me go."
In this situation, Shen Heyu had to keep these men steady, otherwise, she might not live to see tomorrow’s sun.
"Damn, really ten times?" exclaimed the man with green hair at Shen Heyu’s offer, his eyes nearly popping out in surprise.
"That’s right, just let me go and I’ll immediately transfer the money to your account," Shen Heyu said, looking at the man with green hair.
The green-haired man was clearly tempted; he tried to persuade his boss, Scar Face.
"Scar Brother, this woman is offering us ten times the money, why don’t we just let her go?" the green-haired man said, greedily swallowing his saliva.
He was easy to fool, but Scar Face, who always spoke fiercely, as if firing a cannon with every word, wasn’t so easily deceived.
Scar Face glared viciously at the green-haired man, "Are you fucking trying to get killed! Do you realize she knows our names and identities? If we mess this up for that woman, even with all that money, you won’t live to spend it."
From Scar Face’s scolding, it was clear that the woman behind this had both money and power.
"If you’re afraid that woman will harm you, I promise not only to pay you but also ensure your safety, just let me go."
Shen Heyu calmly watched the men.
The green-haired man, just scolded, raised his hand to wipe the spit from his face.
He had almost given up hope, but hearing Shen Heyu’s words, his eyes shone with avidity, staring at her like a starving wolf eyeing meat.
He nudged Scar Face excitedly, "Scar Brother, she’s promising to keep us safe and is offering ten times the payoff too."
"You don’t know shit!" Scar Face, out of patience, kicked the green-haired man ferociously in the chest at his continued pestering.
The kick sent the green-haired man sprawling beside Shen Heyu.
Scar Face, with a fierce look, pointed at the green-haired man’s nose like a wolf and said, "You better behave yourself. If you dare talk like that again, I’ll chop off your hand."
"Scar Brother, that woman wants to talk to you on the phone." Chicken Head, who was holding the mobile phone, stood far away and shouted to Scar Face.
"Coming." Scar Face walked away.
Shen Heyu watched his retreating figure, then glanced at the green-haired man.
Obviously harboring resentment, the green-haired man clenched his fist in anger and pounded it fiercely on the ground.
Shen Heyu took a deep breath and whispered to the green-haired man, "If you help me escape, I’ll give you ten times the payoff, and I’ll make sure you’re safe. How about that deal?"
"Just shut the fuck up, will you? Didn’t you hear what my boss said? You really want me to get my hand chopped off, don’t you?"
The green-haired man climbed up from the ground and dusted off his pants.
"If you save me today, you won’t have to fear Scar Face ever again."
The green-haired man, visibly tempted by the offer, stretched his neck uneasily, looking at Shen Heyu, "Really?"
"Of course it’s true."
Scar face was tempted for a few seconds, but he quickly shook his head, calmed down, and said timidly, "No, no, I can’t agree to this. There are two of them, only one of me, and I can’t even beat Da Dong."
The Da Dong he mentioned was presumably the man chewing gum.
"I’m not asking you to break out with me, just help me pass a message to someone else."
"Okay, who do you want me to deliver the message to?" The man with green hair took out a cell phone from his pocket.
He had to keep an eye on Scar face and the gum-chewing man conspiring not far away, while urging Shen Heyu to hurry up with the mobile number.
"You better tell me the mobile number quickly, or once they finish their call, I won’t have a chance to talk to you anymore."
Shen Heyu hesitated for only a second.
In that brief second, she thought of two people.
One was Pei Yansi, and the other was Lu Yi.
But just a second later, Shen Heyu spoke clearly, her soft lips pronounced the mobile number of one person clearly.
After the man with green hair sent the location, he immediately put away his phone. By then, Scar face and Chicken Head had finished their scheming and approached.
"That woman is already on her way, keep a close watch on her, and once we hand her over to that woman, we can get the balance payment."
Chicken Head sleazily touched his chin, eyes half-closed, leering at Shen Heyu’s beauty.
"Talking about which, this dame is really pretty." He swallowed saliva and rubbed his hands.
Scar face glanced at his sleazy demeanor, but said nothing.
Just then, a sound of a car stopping came from the entrance, he frowned, and muttered to himself in confusion.
"She’s here already?"
He had just hung up the call with that woman, and she already arrived?
"You two stay here, I’ll go outside and check." Scar face looked back uneasily at a few people, then cautiously pulled out a fruit knife from his pocket.
Initially, his two accomplices didn’t pay much attention to it, until right after Scar face walked out of the door, he shouted in panic, "Who are you!"
Then came the screams of Scar face; the factory door, slightly ajar, was pushed open with a palm, and the outside light shone in, the harsh daylight causing people to squint reflexively.
Shen Heyu squinted her eyes; she saw Pei Yansi, dressed in a suit, striding in.
Chicken Head’s eyes widened suddenly, "Don’t you fucking come any closer!"
He quickly reacted, grabbed a knife from the table, and directly placed it at Shen Heyu’s throat, with the blade pressing against her soft, fair neck.
"Don’t touch her!" Pei Yansi roared angrily.
Chicken Head spat, "So you really did come to rescue this dame."
"You fucking want to save her? Fine, I’ll carve a few bloody holes into you right now." Chicken Head glanced around, grabbed a spare knife from nearby, and threw it in front of Pei Yansi.
