Pei Yansi paused for a moment before saying to her, "Are you waiting for me?"
She was taken aback for a second, "No."
"Then why did you agree straight away when I said you did not have to wait for me?" Pei Yansi’s voice warmed a little, "Unless you were already waiting for me, and it was only when I told you that you did not have to wait that you ended that state."
Shen Heyu only realized after hearing his words that she had been caught in his logic.
She had indeed been waiting for him before, and when he brought it up, she had directly agreed, wasn’t that a self-admission?
Shen Heyu bit her lip, feeling a bit embarrassed and thought to herself, thankfully he was not present; otherwise, seeing her reaction would have been too obvious.
Pei Yansi did not hear a response from her side and smiled slightly, as if he already understood what she was thinking.
He did not say anything further, but he did not hang up the phone either. His pleasant laugh traveled through the handset to Shen Heyu, and despite the break in the electric current, it remained low and attractive.
Shen Heyu’s heart fluttered uncontrollably upon hearing it, and she asked, "What are you laughing at?"
"It’s nothing," Pei Yansi said, pulling himself back together, "I will be back soon to be with you."
Shen Heyu replied, "There’s no need."
Although she said that, her heart still yearned for him, wondering when he would come back? Would he continue to be by the side of the female supporting character?
Her vision was unclear, why was his trip taking so long? Why had he not yet returned?

Shen Heyu thought for a moment and said to Pei Yansi, "Wait for me."
After speaking, she directly hung up on Pei Yansi’s call and switched to answer Lu Yunlan’s.
On the phone, Lu Yunlan’s voice sounded very anxious, "Heyu, there’s been an accident. I’m on my way to the hospital now, are you there?"
Shen Heyu paused, "What happened?"
"The female supporting character has had a car accident, but actually it was Pei Yansi who was involved. He and Chen Wenzhou encountered a large truck on the road," Lu Yunnan said hurriedly, "Their car was flipped, but it was registered to the female supporting character. I don’t know if Pei Yansi is hurt, but Chen Wenzhou has some scrapes."
Shen Heyu, upon hearing this, felt a thunderous shock atop her head. So that was it.
This was why Pei Yansi had not come home tonight.
They had been in a car accident. Based on Lu Yunlan’s words, since Chen Wenzhou was also injured, it was likely Pei Yansi had not escaped unscathed.
But why had he not told her?
He even kept it a secret, claiming he would be back soon.
And why was the female supporting character involved?
Unless at the time of the incident, the three of them had been together.
Shen Heyu hung up the phone, ready to go to the hospital to see Pei Yansi, or possibly for another reason.

Shen Heyu rushed out of the villa and into her own car, igniting the engine and heading for the hospital.
She had already agreed to meet Lu Yunlan at the hospital in half an hour.
When she arrived, her car collided right into Lu Yunlan’s.
Two people got out of the car together. Lu Yunlan was full of anxiety, grabbed her hand, and rushed into the hospital.
Seeing her , Shen Heyu quickly grabbed her, "Don’t worry too much. Since Chen Wenzhou only suffered a scrape, there shouldn’t be any serious problems."
Lu Yunlan nodded and continued to walk forward, but suddenly, the hand that was holding hers was stopped by a force, unable to move forward.
She looked up curiously and saw Pei Yansi standing not far away, and Shen Heyu had accidentally bumped into his embrace.
With their path blocked, Shen Heyu looked up to meet Pei Yansi’s meaningful eyes.
Pei Yansi slightly curved his lips, watching her with a half-smile, "Have you come to pick me up? Are you worried about me?"
He had taken off his suit jacket, casually draped over his arm, and his one hand gently encircled Shen Heyu to prevent her from falling into him.
Only after her heels found stability did he step back, looking at her and saying, "So anxious?"
Shen Heyu was still somewhat out of breath from the previous running, unable to catch her breath.
To Pei Yansi’s eyes, this seemed like urgency and excitement, and he couldn’t help but smirk, brazenly smiling.
It seemed she was not entirely indifferent to him.
He glanced at Lu Yunlan standing beside him and said before she could speak, "You go ahead. Chen Wenzhou is waiting for you."
Lu Yunlan nodded, gave Shen Heyu one last look, and entrusted her to Pei Yansi with complete relief. Without another word, she left to find someone.
After she left, Shen Heyu sized up Pei Yansi from head to toe, noticing that, as usual, he was unharmed.
She breathed a sigh of relief without leaving a trace.
Pei Yansi took her hand, enveloping her small hand completely in his palm, leading her step by step outside, while saying, "Are you worried about me?"
"I just came with Yunlan."
"You came with her, but you didn’t continue to the hospital with her? I just pulled, and you followed me out."
There was a hint of smugness in Pei Yansi’s voice.
At the car side, he stuffed Shen Heyu into the backseat of the car.
Shen Heyu looked at her car parked not far away and said, "I drove here myself; I won’t go with you."
Saying that, she fumbled with the door, intending to get out.
Pei Yansi looked at her and stretched out a hand to pull her back, "Zhao Jing will drive it away."
"Do you even need to handle such trivial car matters?"
After Pei Yansi spoke, he forcefully closed her window, including the door, shutting it tightly and not giving her any chance to get out.
Shen Heyu gave him a glare and wanted to get out, but Pei Yansi forcefully embraced her, lowered his head to smell her forehead, and seriously said, "Stay by my side for now. Don’t go yet."
Shen Heyu once again saw his clingy side.
Her heart softened for a moment, and she couldn’t completely push him away.
She said, puzzled, while in his embrace, "Why didn’t you tell me about the car accident tonight?"
Pei Yansi held her tight, his face buried in her neck, speaking somewhat hesitantly, "I didn’t want you to worry, nor did I want you to overthink. After all, the second female lead was also there, but I really have nothing to do with her."
