Sharaina: Golden Destiny Chapter 41

It was a warm and peaceful afternoon in Cherilisia. Reena sat outside under the cool shade of a tree. A hair dresser was styling her beautiful brunette hair. The stylist massaged her head as well by rubbing a special scented oil to it. Reena especially enjoyed the massage because she had been feeling so stressed lately. Because she knew about Lavila's affairs and didn't tell anyone, Sevilon had been angry with her. He avoided her and sternly spoke to her whenever she approached him. Reena feared that he blamed her for the death of King Raglan. Reena worried about how the whole issue was affecting her marriage. She had hoped to sit down and talk to Sevilon concerning the matter but he left for Earth the very day King Raglan's body was cremated. He didn't even say goodbye and that hurt her a lot. Reena's thoughts were interrupted when she heard the sound of a shrieking dragon. She faced in the direction of the sound and was astonished to see guards bursting in through her gates. Her hair stylist dropped her comb in fright and ran away. The brutes went straight for Reena and forcefully took her out of the yard. They then roughly forced her onto a dragon. One of her maids who had her baby in her arms painfully called out to her. "Please, take care of my children!" Reena pleaded with her before the dragon took off almost blowing the maid away and leaving her in dust. _____________________________________ The sound of heavy boots hitting the floor made Lavila snicker as she ate her grapes. She raised her eyebrow as she watched the castle General approach her. He bowed down on one knee and she crossed her legs. Lavila rested her chin on her hand and used the other to halt the maiden fanning her. "Queen mother, Lady Reena has been dealt with as per your instructions." his horse voice was clear. Lavila burst out into laughter. "Splendid, I trust that you have done a great job. Now it is my turn." her voice deepened at my turn. The doors to the throne room suddenly opened and Sevilon matched in. He was escorted in by two guards. When he was finally in Lavila's presence, he bowed his head to her with his both his arms behind him in respect. "I am here as you ordered, queen mother." he humbly stated. "I'm happy that you have come without wasting any time Commander Sevilon." she grinned. "Bring her in here." she ordered a guard. Sevilon was completely shocked to see Reena in bruises. She had whip cuts on her arms, thighs and back. She was bound in tight shackles and chains. Her dress was torn up and it barely covered her up. Her breasts were half visible due to the evident whip wound on them. Her torn dress exposed one of her thighs completely and revealed that she wasn't wearing her underwear. Sevilon's eyes widened at the possibility of rape. He couldn't see her face clearly because her hair covered it. But despite all the hair in her face, he could see her tears. Looking at the condition she was in, Sevilon's shock turned into anger. No one but Reena noticed that he was angry because he had a calm and indifferent look on his face. He felt so angry that a lump formed in his throat and he clenched his fist. Sevilon faced away and from the corner of his eye, he saw the guard roughly throw Reena to the ground like she was nothing. He clenched his jaw hard as he fought to control himself. "It is a beautiful sight isn't it Commander?" Lavila asked mockingly but got no response. "Don't worry, she hasn't been raped. She and I were once close so I had to be lenient with her. I just ordered that her dress be torn so that she can feel disgrace the way I did when I was humiliated and thrown out of this castle." she chuckled. Sevilon maintained his silence as he listened to Reena sob. "Although rape would have spiced things up, don't you think so?" Lavila asked him and he shot a glare at her. "Oh calm down. The worst hasn't even happened yet." she snickered. A maid came into the room and in her hands was a double aged dagga on a maroon cushion. She knelt down before Sevilon and raised the cushion to him. Sevilon looked at Lavila and she gestured to him to pick up the dagga. Sevilon knew where everything was going and he got furious. He backed away from the maid and kept his eyes on Lavila. "If you don't put this back stabbing bitch to sleep, I will do it myself." anger laced in her voice as she threatened him but he didn't barge. "Very well then." she said and clapped her hands once. "Cut off her head right here and now!" she ordered the guard. The guard raised his empty hands and his axe weapon appeared. Reena screamed and covered her bloody face with her scratched hands. The guard raised his axe higher and was just about to strike her when he staggered backwards. He fell to the ground unconscious with a dagga pierced in his heart. Lavila looked at Sevilon in disbelief. Her face balled into a dark scowl and she got up from her royal seat. "Send in more guards now!" she screamed. The General shielded her and positioned his sword against Sevilon who just stood there calm and collected. Reena fearfully looked on as she hopelessly covered her battered flesh. Soon Sevilon and Reena were surrounded by royal guards with their weapons drawn. "How dare you disobey me and attack my guard Sevilon?!" Lavila furiously asked him. "I swore my loyalty to the throne. You are not of the throne therefore I don't have to do whatever you say." Sevilon boldly answered her. Lavila laughed evilly. "Is that so? You are a foolish man. Your children would have survived without their mother. Now because of your insolence, they will have to live without their parents." she happily said to him. "Show no mercy." she ordered her guards. One immediately charged towards Sevilon with his scythe but he was sent crushing towards the wall with a golden sword pinning him to it. Everyone's eyes diverted to King Meelzib who threw the sword and he angrily looked at Lavila. Lavila shot a glare back at him and Reena sobbed. King Meelzib walked over to Sevilon and surprisingly smiled at him. "Please forgive my mother. She is delusional and thinks with her emotions. I assure you that this will not happen again." King Meelzib apologetically said. "Deactivate your weapons and escort Reena back home." he ordered the guards and they did as commanded. Reena was helped up and she groaned in pain. She could barely stand on her own and her body hurt all over. She took one last look at Sevilon but he didn't look in her direction. She sadly turned away limping in pain as the guards patiently led her out. "Your majesty, I must return to Earth." Sevilon excused himself with a bow. "By all means do." King Meelzib permitted him and off he went. "What the hell was that Meelzib? How dare you make me look foolish?" Lavila snarled him as soon as they were alone. "This is the problem with women. You think not logically but with your emotions." King Meelzib said to her. "If I didn't come here, Commander Sevilon would have viciously attacked all of you and sent you into hibernation. I can't believe that you thought that fifty guards were going to be enough to take him down" King Meelzib laughed. "Are you saying that he would have had the courage to attack me?" Lavila angrily asked King Meelzib. King Meelzib laughed again. "Mother it is amazing how your wisdom varnishes when you are angry. This man refused to carry out your order therefore how could you honestly think that he wouldn't have raised his sword against you?" he asked her back and she looked away angrily. King Meelzib drew closer to Lavila. He put his hands behind his back and bowed his head a little towards her ears. "Commander Sevilon is a great asset to the army. I will not have you upsetting him. Henceforth you will not do anything without my consent." he said to her. Lavila abruptly turned to face him in anger. Her fiery eyes looked at the seriousness on his face in disbelief. "You think that you can tell me what to do Meelzib? I am your mother. You cannot control me." she pointed her finger at him. King Meelzib took a step closer and grabbed her neck. He gave it a squeeze and she became tensed. He pulled her close and whispered, "I am the King of Dark Star. I can control anyone I want and that includes you mother dearest. Defy my orders and you will feel my wrath."
