Joanna's POV
"I hate her," I growled and pulled on the braids on my hair in frustration as the missing pieces of the puzzle were beginning to fall in place.
"Same here." He scoffed. "The secretary then showed us into her office and deserted us. Two hours passed, three, four, time flew by until it was 8:15 pm with no word or sign of her."
"This prompted me to call her again, in which she picked and exclaimed an <Oh darling I totally forgot, am at a party right now, see you around midnight when am back> and hung up."
"Ifeanyi flared for the second time that day and was like <Damn that bitch, I shouldn't have agreed for us to do business with her, so help me GOD am gonna kill her>"
"I tried to pacify him by telling him she was our only hope, even though I had a bad feeling about it, and he growled a <We should have just let it be, thank God it's for Jo, if not I would be out of here and home by now>. I smiled at his love for you and asked why he thought I was still there. If it was something for myself I wouldn't even have come in the first place."
"Awwwn," I gushed and asked, "did she show up?"
"What did you expect," He laughed hysterically. "She didn't come back that night."
"Old move," I voiced out with a roll of my eyes.
"I know right?" He scoffed. " We were awoken by the sound of loud heels and a high-pitched voice. I opened my eyes and was met with the 'she-devil."
"I thought she was a fowl?" I challenged, laughing.
"I can call her any name I want," He grumbled. "Ifeanyi uttered a <Can I have the permission to strangle her?> as he set eyes on her. I ignored them both and checked the time to see it was 7:33 am and smiled as I remembered it was your birthday."
"I walked out on them and went to the veranda where I could clear my head and post the video I pre-recorded for your birthday knowing you wouldn't be awake yet because you wake up late." He grinned.
"Hey!" I called and bestowed him a fake glare "That's rude, I woke up before 7 am that day."
He shrugged in response, a knowing look in his eyes, and continued. "I stepped back into their location and she informed me she had refunded the money back into my account but would still give me the phone only on one condition."
"I asked her why she refunded the money, that I could double it if she wanted, as long as I just get the phone, but she smirked and yanked me out of Ifeanyi's earshot."
"The condition was, that anytime she comes around I should give her whatever she asked for, if not she would ruin us. I laughed at her, thinking she was joking until I saw the look on her face." He spoke, and I believed him thus I noticed him shiver slightly in fear as he remembered what transpired.
"Knowing she was a heartless bitch, I didn't want to take that chance so I just snatched the phone out of her palm and trudged back to Ifeanyi who sat fuming in his seat. <Thank GOD you got it!> He exclaimed as he spotted it in my hands. I simply nodded and made a move to grab my jacket until I heard her voice."
"<Not so fast> She giggled as she swiped my phone from my back pocket and handed it to Ifeanyi, commanding him to take a picture of the both of us. We both declined, instead this didn't phase her as she rolled her eyes and said <Do as I say or you are not getting your phone back, and you know what I can do with that>" He continued.
"Ifeanyi exhaled in frustration and took it forcefully from her and ordered us to go over to stand by a wall and pose so we could get it over with, but the snake refused."
"Oh, you are calling her a snake now." I expressed as I couldn't hold in a giggle.
"This is not funny," He voiced and lent me a glare.
"Okay, okay, I'm sorry," I apologized, as I could get where he was coming from.
"I then sat down as she instructed, and looked nonchalant, while she sat beside me and took a hold of my arm, giving a wide smile as Ifeanyi took the shot.
<Selfie time> she tackled evily once more and asked Ifeanyi to hold the phone and take us from above while she hugged me in the picture."
"How could someone laugh evilly," I murmured to myself as he went on narrating his ordeal.
"After that, she implored Ifeanyi to upload the one of she and me on my Instagram page, Facebook and WhatsApp. He complied without argument seeing as we both were tired of her bitchiness."
I nodded at this, "No wonder I came across a picture like that. That's how it clicked in my head when I saw you both, especially after she met me at the library, that snake!"
"She's more than a snake I tell you," He snarled. "Ifeanyi handed the phone back to me the instant he was done and I deleted both pictures from my phone and social media immediately.
< Bye-bye boys> she giggled in her evil way while waving at us, the same time Ifeanyi whispered a <psycho>. So that was why I wasn't there on your birthday."
"That's my gee, he always leaves with a last word," I announced and chuckled at what Ifeanyi did.
"Am grateful he was with me that day, if not would I would have lost it." He smiled.
"Now, that's settled, why was she at your house that day?" I interrogated, an eyebrow raised.
"For the <giving her what she wanted part>" He rolled his eyes and scoffed. "I was in the midst of arguing with her when she jumped on me which landed the two of us in bed. Before I knew it, she began kissing me, and unfortunately, it was the exact moment you stepped into my room."
"Ooh!" I exclaimed as realization dawned on me.
"Yup." He bobbed his head, "I hope you understand I'm currently tied to a snake because of you."
I chuckled and peered at him afterward as I heard the noise of heels clicking its way towards us in the slightly quiet restaurant, due to the fact that everyone was talking in hushed tones, so I could pick up the sound easily.
I glanced up in time to spot the snake herself walking in our direction.
"Speaking of," I blurted.
"What are you talking about?" He inquired, perplexed.
"Behind you," I voiced out and nodded. "The snake is here."
He swerved around sharply and groaned. "GOD why! I thought she said she would be in Portharcourt for a while."
"She's coming here too," I complained unknowingly, already green with envy as she put on a sick smile when she noticed the expression on my face.
And yes the smile was really sick and wicked. Has a snake smiled at you before? If not just picture it smiling. Yeah, that's how her face was.
"Hey there Frank," She glowed in that wicked way when she reached us. "What are you doing here with this good for nothing, senseless, stupid slut?"
"Yada yada yada. Words I can't comprehend." I disclosed, smirking as I spotted her fists tighten in anger.
"What do you want Amy?" Frank snapped. "I thought you were not supposed to be here till Christmas."
"Does it matter?" She consulted an angry glint in her eyes. " You owe me, and I need you to follow me."
"Babe." Frank sighed, offering me a defeated look
"Go with the she-devil," I grumbled while I attempted to hold down the hurt feeling bubbling within me.
"Babe--" He called hesitantly, but was cut off by the bitch who I couldn't name.
"Follow me, Frank," She shrieked in a high-pitched voice that diverted the attention of almost everyone in the restaurant in our direction.
I just waved them off and forced a smile as the she-devil beamed. Yeah, I guess I'll call her that from now.

Frank's P.O.V
I didn't tell her everything. There is one more little secret am holding from her which Amy knows about and so she's using it to control me.
Listening to Amy right now mumble some rubbish that I'm not paying attention to. I can't help but remember the look of hurt on Ana's face which she was trying to hide as I followed Amy out of the restaurant.
