Author's POV
Rosetta quickly threw firewood aside and rushed towards him. Terrifying thoughts started invading her mind. What if those men hurt him before reaching her.
"Skyler"
She shook him furiously.
Skyler's eyes snapped open and he looked at her.
"What happened?"
He asked tiredly.
She sighed in relief, she looked at his wound and it was fine. It wasn't bleeding anymore.
"Nothing... I thought you passed out..."
She mumbled while standing up.
"I fell asleep while waiting for you... What took you so long..."
He asked as she picked up the firewood.
"I got lost... It's too dark outside..."
She lied.
She placed the wood at dry place and made bonfire.
"Where did you get it?"
He asked looking at the lighter.
She looked at the Matt black lighter and sighed.
"I found it... Someone must have dropped it. I got lucky..."
She mumbled.
Rosetta sat down in front of fire. She gathered her knees to her chest and placed her chin on her knees, looking at fire tiredly.
Her life is becoming mess day by day. She is too confused to focus on one thing.
Vlad is creating new problems for her everyday and everywhere. He just wants her body and she knows it.
While she is totally confused about skyler's behavior. He told her to stay away from him but he himself is not leaving her alone. He says he doesn't care but then takes care of her like baby. The way he behaved on the yacht, touched her heart. But still she don't know what he wants from her.
And now she has another confusion. This masked man. He claimed to be in love with her but doesn't want to show his face. He did tell her story about their past but she doesn't remember anything like that. There were so many boys whom her brothers has threatened. May be he is honest but still she can't trust him. He sounded genuine. He is stronger and smart. He is just like her mother. At least He is not lusting behind her.
Would she have chosen him if they had met earlier?
Rosetta closed her eyes thinking about it and questioned herself but her heart screamed No!
For unknown reason she can't take Skyler off of her mind. In these few days she has got comfortable with him. She is getting used to his wierd behavior. She has started enjoying fights with him. She loves his touch. His everything is appealing to her. But only thing which broke her heart is he talked to her like that. Her feelings might be right in their place but she can't trade it with her self respect.
She opened her eyes and sighed heavily.
Skyler was looking at her adoringly. Her eyes were glowing in front of fire. He could see that she is thinking about something. Something is bothering her.
He grabbed her her arm gently and she looked at him.
"Come here..."
He said in gentle tone.
"Skyler I am not in mood to fight with you..."
She mumbled.
"Neither I am... I don't want to fight with you Rosa... Trust me."
He said and pulled her closer to him.
Rosetta sat beside him while facing him and he caressed her cheek gently.
"What is bothering you?"
He asked.
She shook her head.
"Nothing... I am just tired..."
Skyler tucked free strand behind her ear and kissed her forehead lovingly.
Rosetta pulled her head back.
"Skyler, we shouldn't..."
She said but he held her hand.
"Please don't... Don't distance me from yourself..."
He said and she looked at him.
He intertwined his fingers with her making her look at him confused.
"I am sorry..."
He confessed and she looked at with raised eyebrows. She haven't heard him saying sorry with this much sincerely.
"I usually don't apologise to anyone... And trust me if I am saying this to you then I mean it with all my heart..."
"For what?"
She asked.
"For everything... For disrespecting you... But I never intended to disrespect you Rosa, i never wanted to hurt your dignity... I never wanted to talk like that but it happened in the flow... I respect you, you are the first girl whom I respect..."
He sighed.
"It's my fault that I can't control my desires, it's not your fault... You are not even doing anything... I am evil, i know... I have mafia blood in me and it's my nature. But I am not defending myself, I know I was wrong... But I want to make it right Rosa. I don't want to fight with you, it doesn't feel good when you are angry with me. I miss our small talks... It took me few days to understand that I don't want just your body, I want everything which you have... I want to know you more. I want to see you smiling and laughing. I want to talk to you about life and everything...."
Rosetta looked at him blankly, not knowing how to react. He was apologizing and it was good. She felt happy. He was too sincere to not forgive him.
"I tried to run away from my feelings but it doesn't help... If staying with you is disturbing then staying away from you is agonizing... I never thought i would say this to someone but I want to give it a chance. I want to give real meaning to our relationship... I want it to work..."
He said and kissed back of her hand.
"I know I am not perfect for you... But will you give me a chance. Chance to make you happy, chance to make you feel special... I promise i won't touch you without your permission..."
Rosetta's heart fluttered at his words. When that masked man confessed his love, she got scared. When Vlad said that he wants her she was terrified but now when Skyler is confessing to her, she wasn't feeling like that.
She is feeling good and wanted. It's enough for her that he wantS to try, that he is willing to be a better person for her.
Her father used to say that,
'Man changes for only one woman... He will do anything for that one particular woman. She doesn't even have to try and he will do anything for her. Find that one man... Because you can't change the man whose woman is someone else, if he can't be a better person for you then he is not the right one, You got the wrong man...'
Rosetta could feel that skyler is the one for her. He is the only one who makes her feel things.
Rosetta nodded in agreement with small smile and skyler smiled in happiness.
"Say it, Rosa... I want to hear words..."
He said.
"Yes, I want to give it a chance... I want to know what is this which I am feeling for you... But__"
She paused.
"But what?"
He frowned.
