Author's POV
Rosetta sat on skyler's lap while he was holding her by waist possessively. It was like he wanted to show everyone that she belongs to him.
Rosetta was sitting there boringly while they were discussing about pacts, treaties and agreements.
She roamed her eyes in the hall and found Vlad glaring at her. she arrogantly rolled her eyes at him. She looked at the girl with pity who was sitting at his feet. That man has nothing which can appeal her.
Very few girls were at feet and beside them. Most of them were on laps and they were sitting proudly and happily except two girls.
Rosetta looked at them carefully. One of them were sitting on the lap of Dominick Moretti who is italian mob boss, she has black hair and black eyes. Tiny and timid looking girl with pale skin. She was looking on his lap very uncomfortably while he was holding her like she will run away from him. Rosetta could see her hands shaking and she was clutching them in tight fists, probably not wanting anyone to notice it.
She looked up towards Rosetta with her glossy eyes and quickly looked down.
Rosetta couldn't understand why she is like that if she is claimed, why she isn't happy.
She looked at another girl whom she has met in her wedding function. She is Amanda Marino wife of Alexander Marino. The woman is beautiful with ginger hair and green eyes. Rosetta looked at her carefully, she was looking uncomfortable on her husband's lap. Her breathing was heavy and she was trying to control it. Her face was crimson red. His hands were resting on her hip. She wasn't looking like a confident woman which she is. Rosetta has seen her in many functions but today something was very weird about her.
Most of women were of her mother's age and they were confident and happy.
After few hours all the men let their women go and enjoy themselves at the bar while they were still Discussing business.
Rosetta removed skyler's hand from her waist and walked away not even glancing at him and he sighed.
All the ladies were at bar and Rosetta was sitting on the stool. Rose approached her.
"What took you so long?"
She questioned.
"Makeup"
Rosetta shrugged. She looked at her mother, she was wearing green emerald gown. Sometimes she can't believe that this woman is her mother, she is too beautiful for her age.
Rose chuckled.
"I can see that... You are looking beautiful... Meet my friends..."
She said and Rosetta looked at two women.
"Anamika and Florina..."
She introduced them.
"She is very beautiful and confident woman, just like you..."
Florina smiled.
"Don't mind me I am big fan of your mother... Nice to meet you by the way..."
"Nice to meet you too..."
Rosetta smiled back.
"Indeed a very beautiful and brave girl... It's very nice to see you all grew up..."
Anamika said smiling.
"Thank you..."
Rosetta smiled at her.
"So how is married life?..."
Florina teased.
"Good"
Rosetta replied, despite of their age she was like teenage girl.
"You can ask for tips... Specially from Anamika, she has good experience in handling this beasts..."
Florina chuckled.
"Says the woman who has two husbands..."
Anamika replied smiling and Florina blushed.
"How did you end up marrying two men... If you don't mind me asking..."
Rosetta asked curiously.
Florina chuckled.
"It's a long story... I just couldn't choose between two and they couldn't compete with each other..."
She trailed off.
"I think you can take advice from three of us... If you want to control your man go to Anamika, of you want to annoy him I can give you best advice and if you want to scare him then your mother is best in it..."
She winked playfully. They all laughed with her.
"Well I'll definitely keep it in mind..."
Rosetta replied. She excused herself from them sat there alone, enjoying her own company.
She looked at skyler who was glancing at her and she rolled her eyes.
"Ungrateful man..."
She mumbled.
"Why try to approach me if he doesn't want me near him.."
She turned to her left and saw Amanda leaning at the counter nervously. She was avoiding to talk to anyone.
"You are not Amanda, are you?"
Rosetta said.
Her eyes snapped towards Rosetta when she said that. Her eyes were looking at her with horror, she gulped as her hands started shaking. Rosetta was just guessing but now it was confirmed.
"I am Amanda, I don't know what you are talking about"
She stuttered.
"Good luck with that"
Rosetta said nonchalantly and turned away.
"Please don't tell anyone..."
She pleaded.
"About what?"
Rosetta looked at her.
That I am not___"
She looked around her carefully and with hesitation.
"I don't know what you are talking about..."
Rosetta shrugged and turned her back towards her, giving that Girl confidence that she won't tell anyone.
Rosetta herself doesn't like in poking someone else business but she was curious about these two girls. She wanted to know that if they are getting abused. She might help them if they want.
She was enjoying her drink when she saw that timid girl. She was standing Quietly at the corner of the counter. She was looking little relaxed than before.
Rosetta slide drink in front of her.
"You might feel better..."
She said looking at the girl. Rosetta looked at her carefully but couldn't see any bruises or wounds which shows that she isn't getting abused. But she has hickeys all over her neck and shoulders.
"I am Rosetta by the way..."
"I am Grace..."
She said and stared down at the glass of alcohol like she is in dilemma. She turned around and glanced the Dominick.
"Do you need your husband's permission to drink alcohol?"
Rosetta scoffed. She can't even imagine what she will do if Skyler tries to control her life like this.
"He is not my husband..."
She quickly replied.
"He is my boss.."
"You don't look like someone who can work with mafia..."
Rosetta raised her eyebrows.
Grace looked nervously at her.
"It's complicated... I have to do whatever he says."
She mumbled.
"Why you are so scared of him?"
Rosetta questioned.
"Because he is criminal, he can kill me... He scares me just with his mere look... Today he killed someone in front of me and that man has no remorse, how can someone be so evil... He is monster, he doesn't have any feelings."
She said with glossy eyes.
"Then You shouldn't have get involved with him..."
Rosetta sighed.
"I had no choice... I don't know what this man wants from me..."
Grace wiped her tears.
"I think he is getting what he wants"
Rosetta mumbled looking at her neck.
"Why me?..."
Grace released defeated sigh.
"Ask him"
She replied drinking her drink.
"I can't... I am not that brave. He might cut off my tongue for disrespecting him. I can't offend that man. My life is dependent on him."
She said grabbing her head defeated. She was about to say something but her eyes met with Dominick and she gulped.
"I have to go"
She mumbled and quickly walked towards him.
Rosetta looked at her with sad eyes, she really seemed scared and defeated.
Suddenly door opened and few girls walked in, they were strippers. Probably to entertain these men. Girls started doing their work and Rosetta looked at her mother and her friends to see their reaction.
Rose was looking at Damian while crossing her hands, her expressions were challenging him to do it.
Florina was looking at her men with narrowed eyes.
And Anamika was looking at her husband with straight look.
It seemed to work and their husbands approached them. Poor men were too scared to even try.
She turned around to look at skyler and gasped.
