Author's POV
Rosetta followed skyler towards the meeting room while fixing her hair. She was still feeling his lips on all over her face. She just wanted Vlad to believe in them but skyler doesn't seem to like it.
Skyler opened the door for her and gestured her to get in.
Everyone stood up as he entered the Room. Rosetta frowned at the scene, everyone was looking scared. Of course they were scared of Skyler, The new mafia boss. They are late still no one questioned them.
Skyler sat on his chair while giving empty chair beside him to Rosetta. Rosetta sat beside him, she realised that Skyler has powerful image in public.
"Nice to see you mrs. King... Congratulations..."
One of the shareholder greeted.
"It's not our reception, focus on the meeting..."
Skyler Said firmly.
Rosetta ignored everything and Started focusing on the employees so she could get hint of the danger But she couldn't suspect anyone.
One of the employee was giving Presentation and everyone was focused except Rosetta and Skyler noticed it. It made him angry, she came here saying that she wants to help but she wasn't focused.
"Sir?"
One of his employee Said and Skyler looked at him.
"We have designed this project with so much hardwork... It was our idea. Our team was working on it from last 2 months, because our client wanted something unique but I don't think it will work anymore because our rival, mr. D'Souza has designed something similar too and they have already finished half of their work... It won't be unique anymore..."
He explained hesitantly.
Skyler clenched his jaw.
"And you are telling me this now..."
He growled.
"Sorry sir... We find out this just now..."
He replied.
"We can't continue this project... It's a waste now..."
One of his shareholder Said disappointed.
Skyler closed his eyes frustratingly, he was excited for this project and was working hard for the same. He looked at Rosetta and she was in her own world.
"Rosa?"
He called her and she looked at him questioningly.
"Hmm?"
"What do you think about it?... You wanted to help right?"
He asked and she looked at him blankly. Skyler knows that she wasn't paying attention.
Rosetta looked at him blankly.
"Turn the building into Garden..."
She replied casually. Rosetta doesn't seemed focused but she was listening everything.
Skyler frowned at her.
"What?"
"You can't make this garden outside like you have designed then do it inside the building... It's according to the theme 'eco friendly'... And it will be unique too..."
She suggested.
"Wow, excellent... We can try this"
Shareholder Said excitingly.
"We should contact our client... Your wife is very smart mr. King..."
Skyler looked at her impressed and dismissed the meeting.
After meeting they were sitting at his office.
"Do you know about architecture?"
He asked Rosetta.
"Hmm!... I was in 2nd year but I dropped it. I wasn't interested..."
She replied.
Rosetta looked at him.
"I didn't know that you are architect... I thought you only handle mafia..."
She was occasionally rubbing her shoulder, it was hurting.
"It was my dream... But I couldn't disappoint my father so I had to manage mafia too... So I am doing both..."
He replied.
He took a medical kit from the drower and walked towards her. He sat on the sofa beside her and handed her painkillers.
Rosetta shook her head.
"No I can't take this... I have to endure it"
Skyler didn't said anything and placed the kit away. He called his secretary and ordered juice for them.
"Mom has arranged honeymoon for us... You have to take week off from your work..."
He said.
Rosetta's eyes snapped towards him.
"Where?"
She asked.
"Italy"
He replied.
His secretary came with juice and placed glasses in front of them.
"What are we going to do there?..."
She shook her head.
"We are going to play Ludo"
Skyler mocked.
Rosetta rolled her eyes and drank her juice.
"It will be waste of time, I have work to look after..."
She said.
Skyler Smirked at her but didn't say anything. Rosetta finished her drink but soon she started feeling dizzy.
"I am feeling dizzy..."
She said blinking her eyes.
Skyler Smirked.
"I know"
She frowned at him.
"What did you do?"
He sighed dramatically.
"Nothing just gave you painkillers with sleeping pills... You work too much, your body need rest..."
Rosetta looked at him angrily.
"How dare you?"
But soon she fell unconscious on his chest.
Skyler held her against his chest and caressed her hair.
"Angry kitten..."
He chuckled.
He laid her on the sofa and covered her with his coat. She was sleeping peacefully.
Skyler admired her beautiful face.
He couldn't understand why she is stressing herself unnecessarily. It was difficult to open her mind. He could see that she is trying to do something but what?
"This girl will make me go crazy one day..."
He sighed and sat on his leather chair, resuming his work.
Max knocked on the door and barged in.
"Good afternoon"
He said loudly.
Skyler glared at him.
"Shh... She is sleeping... Lower your voice"
Max frowned and looked around confused. His eyes landed on Rosetta who was sleeping on the sofa.
He raised his eyebrows.
"Ohh..."
He looked at skyler.
"What is she doing here?... Why she is in your office?"
Max asked.
Skyler gave him mocking look.
"Do I need to ask you before keeping my wife in my office."
Max laughed.
"My wife!... No! You don't need my permission"
Max sat in front of him.
"But I am curious... What's going on between you too..."
"Nothing"
Skyler trailed off.
"Then why she is sleeping?"
Max questioned.
"Because she is tired and injured"
Skyler replied resuming his work.
"And you care?!"
Max asked amused.
"She is my wife"
Skyler stated.
"So?"
Max questioned.
Skyler dropped his pen and looked at Max annoyingly.
"So it's my responsibility to take care of her."
He spat.
"If you have something productive to do then do it otherwise don't waste my time."
"Are you falling for her, Skyler?"
Max questioned.
"Bullshit"
Skyler rolled his eyes.
"You are behaving like that... You were not interested in this marriage at the beginning and now you are acting like loving and caring husband..."
Max Smirked.
"I don't care max but this girl is walking problem"
Skyler said annoyingly.
"Everyday I see her with new wound, serious than before. As soon as her old injuries starts healing she comes with new... If I don't pay attention, she will die"
He sighed.
"If something happens to then my family and her family will sit on my head... I have to take care of her at any cost..."
Max chuckled.
"She is not little kid, I am sure she is capable enough to take care of herself..."
"She is not... She is naive"
Skyler disagreed with max.
"Ohh.."
Max scoffed.
"Am I in dream?... You called someone naive. Really?... You used to call people cunning and evil, how did you managed to find out naive angle..."
He said and Skyler glared at him.
"Looks like you are under her spell... She is not naive Skyler. She knows everything. She can protect herself, she is martial artist... She is skilled in fights and you are not."
"I don't need martial arts to protect myself..."
Skyler stated.
"And I am not falling for her, it's my duty to take care of her..."
"It sounds like you are trying to tell this to yourself"
Max said amused.
"Get out max..."
Skyler said annoyingly.
Skyler's eyes snapped towards Rosetta when she moaned in pain. Her shoulder hurt when she changed side. He quickly put down the file and walked towards her.
Max sat there and looked at him in amusement as Skyler held Rosetta against his chest like baby and inspected her shoulder. He told his secretary to bring hotbag.
Skyler was treating her shoulder with worried face and max was enjoying it.
"May lord bless you my friend... You are in love."
He mumbled and walked out of the office.
Skyler looked at Rosetta's phone as Jackson's name flashed on it.
He received the call.
"Hello Rosa?... Where are you?"
Jackson asked.
"I am Skyler... Rosa is sleeping"
Skyler answered.
"Ohh... Why is she sleeping?"
Jackson sounded amused.
"That's not important... First you tell me, who the fuck hurt her shoulder like this..."
Skyler growled.
