Ashley's Pov
The man in a dark suit with his tall figure was looking at me as I am a criminal.
His deep dark eyes were arrogant and wicked, maybe he is showing his new side to me.
And how can I forget?
He is Blake Jensen, the most ruthless Billionaire!
"So Ms Brooke, finally you arrived!" His sharp eyes were a slap on my face.
I was anxious, about the outcome that I was getting in.
"Yesss Sir," I almost choked when I had to call him sir.
I can't take his name for certain reasons. However, He just narrowed his eyes to my response and looked at me as I have done something extremely wrong.
He adjusted his tie, which was neatly plated, and rolled his hair in frustration.
"Call me Mr Jensen as I am not your grandfather which you will prefer to call sir!"
I wanted to yell at him! To tell him to shut up and mind his own business, however, I nodded my head just to confirm that it was alright with me.
"Now, Brooke listen to me carefully- you have fifteen minutes to bring me a cappuccino from Starbucks and your time starts now,"
"What?" My mouth was swivelling.
What was he even thinking? Can't he get a cup of coffee from anyone? Does he want to make me his servant?
My eyes were flaring from anger now!
However, I don't have any choice left, I already told my mother that I will return with a job and some money too to pay to the landlord!
I have to do whatever he has to say to me.
Still, I need to make my point clear, "I am not your servant Mr Jensen," my voice was as harsh as glaciers when they were about to break.
"Of course not! This is your task so that I can test you, now run you don't have enough time!"
He barked at me before getting engrossed in his files.
So I ran, I ran to save my life because I had no other choice. I reached the elevator in the hush when it was almost filled with employees of this industry.
They all eyed me from head to toe, maybe they think I don't belong here. However, I was determined to prove them wrong- I will try until my last breath.
When it reached the ground floor, I jumped out of it without making a scene, well at least I tried to not make one!
When I was about to exit from the building, I saw almost everyone was smirking at me.
Maybe they all know I am in the race, hunting whatever I had to hunt. I dismissed all of them, to all their forbidden looks at me. And exits from the huge building when the sun was at its epitome.
The New York City was already driving me crazy with its buzz on the metropolis. There were too many cars on the roads on their way. And my mind was just about to explode because I had only ten minutes left and I didn't find any Starbucks outlet anywhere.
I started getting anxious, my head was roaming in every direction and my breath was hitched too... Because I was frightened about what if I didn't reach in time?
Then suddenly, I bumped into someone,
Someone very familiar to me.
Shawn was standing ahead of me looking as I am a ghost of the New York City who is wondering for blood.
I think I should ask him! I just need to find my way to the nearby Starbucks outlet...
"Shawn will you please tell me???"
I was hyperventilating that I couldn't even finish the sentence.
As he knew what I was asking so he pointed his finger to the left side of the road.
I nodded in the confirmation and mumbled something under my breath as I ran again to save my life.
Trying to beat the traffic when everyone was looking at me as I am a madwoman!
However, by struggling all the way I reached the Starbucks and ordered his Cappuccino.
I had only six minutes now, and in these six minutes, I had to reach Jensen's industries to the floor where he has his cabin.
With determination in my mind, I found my way to the traffic and jogged in like I was an athlete in an Olympics.
I reached the elevator when it was already three minutes left when my face was covered in all sweat when my heart was pumping so fast in my chest when my breath was almost gone.
I press the floor number again.
I got out in time when it was only one minute left, I can make it from there cleanly! I can show that bastard that I can do it! I am very punctual about time and I have the determination to get the work done!
However, I got too lost in myself that I didn't recognize he was right ahead of me when I opened his door without knocking!
Oops!
All the coffee got spilt on his shirt or to my clothes.
Let's just say we both were drenched in coffee.
I am so dead!
"What the fuck!" His stormy eyes were so angry that he made sure to yell at my ears to pierce my soul!
And my poor heart was going crazy, I did everything in my power still lost it!
Lost against this stupid jerk who couldn't control his urge from getting out of his cabin!
Because of him, I am drenched in coffee.
I hate him!
And if that was not enough on the above he was yelling at me? Directly on the face?
Don't he know how to talk to a lady?
I glared at him hard, and before I could regret it, words were already out of my mouth, "this all occurred because of you!"
Then I realised, he was dangerously so close to me, his breath was almost mixing with mine. And maybe he was trying to control something as he shut his eyes and refused me!
There was no space between us. I could feel his hearbeat, which was jumping in inside his chest. His breath was heavy, yet dangerous, he must have been using cigarette, i could smell the heat of it on my face. But there was nothig on his face, as he was a stone man with no human emotions, not at all.
I have to move away from here before it becomes all wrong! I have to move away from here before he could cage me in his life and deteriorate with nothing.
As I tried to slide away from his strong arms that were almost bulging out from his shirt. He must have spend his half of life in exercising using gymnastics. If he had the power to crush me in a second, he would have done it without any minute. I mean i have never used gym to control my body, neither had time to do so, i was always contemplated in working and making the living out of it.
He looked at me for a moment, calculated something in his deep eyes, as his eyes flicker from dark to light then he shook his head and step away.
"You can use the washroom that is right over there," he pointed his finger in the direction where was a small room which he called a washroom.
And without asking anything, to save my pride I did what I was told to and followed his finger to get myself clean.
"And make it fast! I can't handle tardiness in my premises,"
His voice came out more like an order to me.
Dear God, what have I got myself into?
