Hans analyzed the Missile Infantry’s information but was cut short when both stepped aside after they finished their welcoming ceremony.
Behind them came the third.
He didn’t carry bulk equipment but rather, a very suppressive intent.
The DASF unit stepped into the doorway, feeling a sense of belongingness long before. His combat suit fitted tightly—an adapted fabric with rigid plating in the right places, and shock padding in the joints.
Though it wasn’t powered, it was reinforced enough that it could take several hits and keep moving.
His rifle sat low and ready, heavy caliber by the thickness of its receiver alone. Magazine seated clean with no dangling straps nor extra noise.
Across his chest was an underslung module—grenade launcher integrated, currently not attached to his rifle.
His belt line wasn’t crowded with random pouches either. Everything was placed with their own purpose: charges, flashbangs, a pair of grenades that looked peculiar for this era of infantry.
A sidearm sat on his thigh in a hard holster, the grip slightly oversized.
Isn’t that a Desert Eagle?
Hans recalled that terrifying secondary weapon. Some said it was unreliable; some supported it otherwise.
But looking at this one, not one bit of unreliability could be found.
System, did you do something to the Deagle?
Though the system didn’t reply, Hans figured out that what this DASF Unit’s Deagle had on his arsenal was a much better version than the one he had seen on earth.
Still chambering the same .50 AE, Hans smirked. You’ve got taste.
Hans’s eyes continued checking out the DASF’s equipment.
At his waist was a simple blade. However, it wasn’t a combat knife nor the usually issued one from the other units.
It looked thinner, cleaner, almost unfair.
A monomolecular combat blade?
Hans had a guess, wanting to verify his suspicions later.
The DASF’s face was plain, average. The kind that would disappear when mixed in crowds.
But his eyes didn’t wander like a new recruit’s. They scanned the room once, then stopped on Hans like he was waiting for a task to execute, not a person to impress.
No greeting. No hesitation. Just his body ready for any order from his Commander.
Hans’s mouth curled slightly.
He’s almost like Dmitri, he mused. Too bad Adrian has given Dmitri a hard time. Look at that, he’s very talkative now.

Hans stared at the DASF Unit’s last line under the Remarks

For a second, he didn’t feel relief. He felt the system’s intent dawning upon him.
"System, are you handing me tools for the kind of impending war against me?"

Whether it was a coincidence or not, Hans’s cautiousness increased. No such good things existed without a payoff.
"Viktor," he said.
The Missile Infantry’s chin lifted.
"Yes, Commander."
"How many missiles do you actually carry on body?"
"Six loaded, sir. The rest is buffer," Viktor replied without hesitation.
Hans nodded.
"I see. What targets do you usually prioritize?"
He wanted to know dearly.
In-game units like the Missile Infantry liked to play around targets that were impossible to hit and ignore the armored tanks or other important targets.
Microing was the only way, and even with that, sometimes mistakes would happen.
"Aerial targets and armored infected, Commander," Viktor thumped his fist into his chest. "Do not worry, Commander. We will not fail this simple job. Your army will march unimpeded with our missiles in tow."
Hans smirked. "That’s good to hear then."
he shifted his gaze to the DASF. "Viper."
"Commander," Callum replied, his words short and direct.
Hans pointed at the door.
"Step into the hallway. Try clearing the left side door."
Just as he finished relaying his order, Callum’s body blurred in place.
His body suddenly re-appeared in the next room ahead of Hans, rifle low, eyes cutting angles like he’d already mapped whatever was on the left side.
When he took out his combat blade, Hans quickly stepped forward and raised his arms.
"Wait, wait, wait!" He yelled loudly, afraid that Callum may have not heard him under that focused state.
"Stop, okay. I think I’ve seen what I wanted to see."
Hans wiped the sweat off his face, his brows twitching uncontrollably.
That was close. If Viper really broke through, I’m afraid the entire floor would be catastrophically involved.
He looked at the silent Callum.
"Callum, take over Kenji as the squadron leader. Kenji, follow Callum’s orders from now on."
"Yes, Commander."
Kenji saluted then moved behind Callum, afraid that this DASF guy might suddenly pounce at him.
Hans turned around to the two Missile Infantries.
"Join the Sniper in the rooftops, and check things out with your MSLS, but don’t fire on anything."
"Will we be spending the night here, Commander?" Viktor asked.
"Yes," Hans replied. "We’ll be here for two days. After that, you will escort me back to base. Understood?"
"Yes, Commander."
The door closed.
Inside, Hans exhaled once. Now that he had gotten a glimpse of the new Infantry Units, the next thing was his War Factory.
"Fourteen more hours, huh?"
The armored units must be trained first before returning to base.
Otherwise, it would be hard to explain to everyone else if these things appeared in the colony out of nowhere.
