*Mridula Pov*
I can really do it! I thought taking a deep breath and entered the room holding the carriage while he is just getting ready for the office.
“Can I ask you something?” I asked slowly when he walked near me to take the lunch and breakfast.
“Sure!” He replied, still with his hand forward with the box.
“Ok! You said we will see when I suggested the plan yesterday right? Can you try to return home soon today? I mean ten o'clock is really late.” I said and waited for his denial or anything.
“We will see. Now, I am getting late.” He said taking the lunch and walked outside the room.
We will see? I groaned and just started walking outside following him to just start the work I stopped in the garden after talking to Dileep, who surprisingly didn’t come home yesterday night making Aunty worry.
“What are you doing?” Aunty asked and I got startled, making my gaze moved away from the door.
“I was waiting for him.” I replied, frowning and glanced at the door again while adjusting the plates on the table.
“There is so much time for him to return, Mridula.” She said and walked away while I shrugged and continued to wait for him.
“I am really hungry, Mridula. Did you bring the food already?” I heard his words, but didn’t turn towards the door and just stared at the food I placed for him on the table.
“Yes! We can have our food.” I replied when he returned from the washroom before starting to serve, and he sat before me.
“Great! I need to check one file.” He said taking a bite and took his file from the briefcase.
“Sure!” I said in a normal tone with a smile when he stared at me and started having my food.
“You are behaving normal!” He commented after a few minutes.
“Isn’t that what you want me to do?” I asked him frowning.
“Aren’t you angry that I didn’t return home early like you asked?” he asked back raising his eyebrow.
“You remember? I totally forgot about it.” I replied, giving him my best smile before finishing the food and moved to wash my hands.
When I returned, he too finished and is just checking his file, while I took the empty dishes to the downstairs before returning to the room.
“I am so tired. I will go to sleep, and you can keep the light on.” I said, smiling at him before placing the water jar on the table and moved to walk away.
However, I immediately felt a hand on my wrist and a fierce tug making me turn back and fall on him, but he held me so that I will not fall down.
I started taking deep breaths to remove the fear I just felt with all that happened a minute ago and glanced up to see his face very near to mine.
“I never thought you could lie.” He commented making me feel uneasy.
“I can really sleep with the light on.” I mumble hoping he didn’t really catch my lie.
“You didn’t forget about the request and actually waited for me.” He stated making me look away from his face.
“Fine! I just… just wished you would really return soon. But it is nothing important because it is not a rule for you to do something I wish right.” I mumbled and tried to move away, but he tugged me more making me feel his breath on my cheek.
“I thought to return soon, but I got stuck in a meeting that was scheduled before.” He whispered and in the next second, I turned my head to look into his eyes directly with a smile.
“Really?” I asked not believing it, but really happy if that was true.
“I am not in a mood to lie.” He replied, shrugging because of which I landed on his lap, but I ignored everything before hugging him tightly.
“Thank you so much.” I whispered and continued to hug even though he didn’t return it, but didn’t even release his hold on my hand.
“I just thought about it but didn’t do it.” He said, and I shook my head still hugging him.
“That single thought is more than enough for me.” I stated sighing feeling relieved that he too wants to change.
“I will never be able to understand you.” He commented making me chuckle.
“Just two months finished after our marriage, so there is still a lot of time for that.” I mumbled.
“Two months? I didn’t count.” He mumbled and moved a little making me remember his words.
“I am very sorry! I forgot about the suffocation.” I said immediately moving away and tried to get up, but then felt an arm around my waist making me stop from doing it.
“What?” I asked him frowning.
“You can’t just hug me every time like that and then move away.” he said staring at my face.
“I don’t understand.” I said, gulping when I realized how we are sitting now.
“Of course you don’t.” he mumbled before pulling my head and crashed his lips to mine.
I thought he would move back after a small kiss, which he did, but started trailing the lips to my cheek and then to my neck making my hands shiver along with my back.
“Tajwar!” I whispered on one side feeling fear thinking about his suffocation problem and on the other side, I don’t even know what I am feeling.
“I should stop!” he suddenly whispered, moving back, and I slowly nodded before getting up and this time he released me calmly after which I turned around and started walking near to the bed.
“Well… I… I mean I will go to sleep and you to go to sleep. I mean after you finish your work. Like I said it is ok for the light to be in… on mode and I… just… I don’t…” I stopped my stuttering speech when I felt his presence behind me.
“Good night!” I slowly whispered before walking away from him and near to the bed.
I lay on the bed and felt the dipping of it after a few minutes and drifted off into sleep still feeling the tingles, no matter how much I was trying to think of something else.
“Did you feel uncomfortable?” His question made me come out of my thoughts, and I immediately glanced up from the very interesting floor still holding the carriage while he was getting ready.
“Uhmm… what?” I asked him, frowning and felt the blood rushing to my cheeks when I stared at him.
“Did you feel uncomfortable about yesterday? You were looking away whenever I am standing in your presence.” He said but continued to get ready.
“I… I mean…” I don’t have any words to tell him regarding how I felt, so I keep on stuttering and stopped when he sighed.
“If you are, you are required to tell me. All this will stop the moment you say you don’t like this. I am not the kind of guy who forces on the other. It is just your wish, and you can stop feeling uncomfortable.” He said before leaving the room while I stood there in shock.
I was just shy! I thought and frowned, thinking how he got the feeling in a wrong sense making me sigh at the end.
The whole day I got lost in my thoughts, thinking about how to tell him without stuttering that I was not uncomfortable, and I am fine or more than fine with it but I didn’t get a single idea.
After finishing the arrangement of the dining table, I walked inside my room to freshen up and go downstairs to serve after which I can wait for him to return in two hours and also think of an idea.
“Where are you lost, Mridula?” Aunty asked, and I looked down to see that I nearly spilled the water.
“I think I have some headache.” I replied, rubbing my head and also scolding myself in my head.
“Go and take some rest.” She said, and I nodded before returning to the room sighing.
“I am just a human, and they can stop looking at me like I am some alien.” I heard a sound and turned to see Tajwar entering the room making my eyes go wide.
“Don’t tell me you are also going to do the same when the whole plan is yours.” He added looking at my expression and I immediately ran towards him before moving my hands to hug him.
However, I stopped in my mid step remembering his words, saying not to hug him and leave him and then how the moment passed for a few minutes.
I smiled at him little nervously before slowly pressing my lips to him, hoping this will ensure him that I was not uncomfortable, and I am happy that he is early.
Before I could move back, I felt him pulling me more to him and kissed me with more passion, making me lose myself in it and he pestered the kisses on my neck and jaw like yesterday with more passion than yesterday and I nearly lost my balance.
When he released me, we both stared at each other with heavy breathing, and he slowly took a step back, making me feel fear that he is going to distance himself from me.
Then he suddenly left the room within a second making me blink a few times to know for sure that he is really not here. Maybe this is only a dream! I thought, frowning and then glanced at his briefcase.
“Ok! We need to talk.” I heard his voice and turned to see him entering the room and then locking the door.
“Where did you go? For a minute, I thought this was a dream.” I mumbled frowning.
“I feel attraction towards you and when I kiss you, I can’t stop at it.” he said, ignoring my words while my mouth opened and closed hearing his.
“I don’t love you.” He added and I slowly mumbled “I too don’t love you.”
“That is really great! However, we can’t just keep on kissing like this.” He said and I slowly nodded still not understanding.
“You are wishing to stop all this?” I asked him when the words settled.
“Do you really think we both will stay at a place without all this happening for a few months or even more until I get better?” he asked, raising his eyebrow, and I shook my head in negative because we are nearly kissing everyday, which is not normal when we don’t share the love.
“See? Now, what do you think of taking this to end?” he asked and it literally took me a whole five minutes to understand.
“Oh! Now?” I asked him, frowning.
“Not now! But just think about it, and I found only this solution for all of this, or we can forget it if you say no.” he replied and I slowly nodded.
“Now, I will go and freshen up, and then we will have our food before calling it a night.” He added moving towards the cupboard while I left the room thinking about his suggestion.
“Was there any problem for his sudden return?” I heard Aunty’s voice when I moved to take the tray to upstairs.
“No! He just decided to return home soon.” I replied looking down.
“That is a good thing if it is really happening and not some other plan.” She mumbled frowning before walking away.
“You need not to tell me your decision right now, Mridula.” His voice brought me out of my thoughts when we were having the dinner.
“Will you have regrets after this?” I slowly asked him when we lay on the bed after staying silent until then.
“I suggested this. Why would I? Just sleep and tell me your decision tomorrow.” He replied before turning around and drifted off into sleep.
I too followed his suit, but not a proper reply to his words and wish I have one tomorrow.
Which I did and said, “No!” when I was handing over the carriage the very next day to which he replied back “Ok!” and walked away. This is for good for both of us! I thought before following him to start the work for the day.
