Chen Chuan started off walking, but his walk soon turned into a jog, and then picked up even more speed.
Scar Face was getting into a sprint. Once he started picking up speed, he could easily knock aside all the obstacles in front of him with his weight and size alone.
If anyone looked from above, Chen Chuan and Scar Face would have looked like two sharp swords cutting through the flow of people. They ran toward each other into what looked like an inevitable crash.
Chen Chuan’s eyes were fixed in front of him. When Scar Face broke through the line and appeared in front of him, Chen Chuan stomped on the ground and jumped.
Since Scar Face was running, he no longer swung his sledgehammer. He just positioned it in front of his chest. With every step he took, he crushed the ground beneath him. He was far heavier than he seemed, and the power exploding from within him was extraordinarily great.
Just when there was no longer anyone trying to stop him, someone suddenly charged at him and jumped toward him. When he was still suspended in midair, he bent his legs before kicking him straight in the head.
Scar Face’s mind swam, and his momentum came to a screeching halt. He stumbled a few steps back, crushing the road in the process.
Chen Chuan used the recoil from the kick to jump backward. He somersaulted a few times in the air before landing steadily on both feet. He slowly straightened up and stared Scar Face straight in the face.
Once Scar Face came to a stop, he stared at the young man and realized that Chen Chuan was no easy target. He let out a scorching breath, and his skin turned even redder.
Agent Qu was stunned. He could not believe that Scar Face had been forced to a stop.
Scar Face had a military-grade implant and was in the middle of a charge, so how could Chen Chuan stop him head-on? Even if Scar Face had not reached his top speed yet, his weight was not just for show. How did Chen Chuan’s legs not break from that violent charge?
The people on both sides of the road watched wide-eyed. Someone had actually stopped Scar Face.
Wei Changan was shocked by Chen Chuan’s kick. When Chen Chuan landed perfectly fine, his worries faded and were replaced by excitement. His junior always brought him delightful surprises. He had been right to station him right there.
But Wei Changan could not let Chen Chuan fight alone. He called for those at the back to bring over rope and other tools.
Scar Face and Chen Chuan observed each other for a bit before Scar Face tightened his grip over the sledgehammer. He then moved forward and sped up again.
Without any hesitation whatsoever, Chen Chuan ran at him. When Scar Face saw him getting closer, he swung his sledgehammer sideways, but Chen Chuan avoided it with a duck while continuing to close the distance between them. He turned his upper body sideways and pulled his arms back before throwing a punch at Scar Face’s chest.
Something similar to the firm force of Primordial Force shot out from his punch, and Scar Face grunted as his back bent.
Chen Chuan opened his fist and pushed forward to deliver a wave of yielding force. In the end, he squeezed his fingers together to stab forward and delivered the Piercing Drill Force.
The chitin armor on Scar Face’s chest sank, and faint cracking sounds could be heard. Scar Face curled up again as he was forced back a few steps.
Chen Chuan kicked off the ground and used the momentum of the charge to slam his elbow into Scar Face’s chest, forcing the man to retreat again. This time, Scar Face had instinctively brought his arms up to push Chen Chuan away, but Chen Chuan avoided them with a twist of his waist. He then brought his hand up to grab his wrist before punching Scar Face in the armpit. He took another step forward, shifted his hold upward to grab Scar Face by the elbow, twisted his waist back, bent down, and threw Scar Face over his shoulder to send him crashing on the ground.
With a loud crack, the ground split beneath him. Scar Face lay prone, unable to move.
The people on both sides of the street were delighted.
Just as Chen Chuan was about to move forward, his instincts screamed at him, and he jumped backward just in time to avoid a hand trying to grab his leg.
Scar Face flipped over and got up. When he turned around and faced Chen Chuan again, his eyes were bloodshot, and tiny drops of blood oozed out from his skin. Even the scar on his face bulged outward, as though it might be forced off.
One of the agents at the back was terrified. “H-How is that guy still able to stand?”
Agent Qu observed the situation. After some thinking, he whispered, “He should have gotten the accelerated oxygen infusion and forced resuscitation implants. They allow one to continue fighting even when they’re heavily injured. These implants make the person stronger when forced into a corner. That kid is in trouble.”
Scar Face seemed to have completely changed. His movements were no longer clunky, but agile. He swung the sledgehammer like it was a blade of grass, and powerful gusts of wind howled all around him.
Chen Chuan avoided the swings calmly, each time barely dodging them. He was paying close attention to Scar Face’s breathing. After he swung the sledgehammer eight times, he finally adjusted his breathing. Chen Chuan shot forward and got into Scar Face’s personal space.
He pushed forward using the momentum and blocked the sledgehammer just in time. The sudden resistance threw Scar Face a little off balance.
Chen Chuan rammed his shoulder into him, and Scar Face lost his balance completely due to the refined force that exploded from within Chen Chuan. He stumbled back repeatedly and left behind multiple cracked footprints.
Before he could regain his footing, Chen Chuan charged forward again. But just then, another surge of energy exploded from within Scar Face. He stomped on the ground, and cracking sounds came from him, as if armor was rubbing and squeezing together inside him. He let go of the sledgehammer and twisted his waist to swing an arm at Chen Chuan. The powerful swing even stirred up a gust of wind.
Chen Chuan only needed to duck down to avoid it, so Scar Face used his momentum to bring his other hand down. He wanted to send his opponent face-first on the ground. This time, Chen Chuan did not avoid, but brought his arms up to block.
This was the first time they had a head-on clash since the fight began. The sound of their arms slamming into each other rang out when Chen Chuan blocked the punch that would have sent any normal person sprawling on the ground.
Chen Chuan’s gaze sharpened, and even his breathing quickened for a brief moment. He took a step forward, and cracks appeared under his feet when he brought his other hand up to slam his palm against Scar Face’s chin with a Coiling Palm Lift. Scar Face tilted backward, but the attack that would have cracked a normal person’s neck did not knock him unconscious. It just made his vision blur, and his head swam for a moment.
Chen Chuan did not stop there. Before everyone’s eyes, he continued pushing up until his arm became a straight line, then curled his fingers slightly.
Once Chen Chuan unfurled his entire body, he tensed his fingers and brought his palm down to grab Scar Face’s face. Then, he tore at it. With a sickening rip, he yanked off Scar Face’s skin and facial muscles.
The ones who saw this winced as their skin crawled. Those who knew what he did cried out, “It’s the Curtain-Tearing Palm!”
Scar Face’s sense of pain had been largely reduced, but this attack still made him scream in pain, and he instinctively brought his hands up to cover his face.
Chen Chuan pushed forward gently and delivered a wave of refined force into Scar Face. The huge man lost his balance and was forced to retreat again.
Chen Chuan walked over slowly. When he passed by where Scar Face originally stood, he picked up the sledgehammer he had dropped.
He spun it, as if it weighed nothing, then swung it at the side of Scar Face’s right knee. Something sturdy shattered, and Scar Face tilted to the side.
Chen Chuan took another two steps forward and placed his hand on his opponent’s chest, which caused Scar Face to stumble back. Chen Chuan then swung the hammer at his other leg. The large man was finally unable to remain standing and fell sideways. The crash shook the ground even beneath all the onlookers.
Scar Face breathed rapidly while he groped around on the ground. When Chen Chuan tore off his face, he had also injured the man’s eyes, but he still retained his drive and did not want to end the fight.
Chen Chuan slowly went behind him and brought the sledgehammer up with one hand. Judging by the trajectory, it was going to land on Scar Face’s head.
After a brief pause, he swung the hammer down and struck Scar Face’s head, but the refined force contained in the hit did not explode in his brain. Instead, it traveled down his spine and spread through his entire body.
Scar Face spasmed, and squelching sounds came from within him, as if his blood vessels exploded. Blood gushed out from his torso and limbs and gathered into a pool beneath him.
Chen Chuan casually threw the sledgehammer away and kicked Scar Face in the head. With a loud thud, the large man crashed into an empty store.
Scar Face struggled to get up for a while before finally stopping, but his body kept twitching.
Chen Chuan slowly lowered his head and turned around to calmly head up the road to the apartment building.
The entire area was silent. At that moment, the people from the martial arts school and the agents from the company all stared at him with respect shining in their eyes. They subconsciously opened up a path for him.
Chen Chuan went straight to Wei Changan and looked him in the eyes when he said calmly, “Caught the fish, Changan.”
