Rise and My soulmate Chapter 10

I was transfixed by the blue light emanating from my palm, a simple power I've controlled since birth. In our nation, there's nothing special about it except to humans, who'd consider me a trivial deity. But this time, it feels different, as I sense the energy flow from this power. "Are you fighting him again?" The voice causes the light to fade as I turn to face Rex, who's approaching. "I'm too bored just to play with women," I reply curtly, and Rex's face hardens. He, a newly resurrected human in our race, now looks at me with disdain. Even he, with his half-wolf blood, was resurrected before me, a pureblood. "You'll make Brenda face your father again," he says, and I glance at him from the corner of my eye. I try to summon my power again; the blue flames reappear, silencing Rex. "You're still worried about my sister?" "I just don't want her to deal with your mess again," his response almost makes me laugh. I turn to him, blue flames in my hands. Without warning, I hurl them at Rex, who dodges and ends up on the ground, staring at me sharply. "Don't show off your feeble power," he remarks, and I shrug. I clap my hands and approach him. "Your cousin seems special," I comment. His expression changes when I mention her, wondering why she manages to affect his emotions. "I've told you, stay away from Lia," he warns, which only makes me more curious about the bread-delivering girl. "And you know what's on my mind right now. It seems she'll get attention from Brenda and Lauv," I share, relishing Rex's curiosity, especially regarding his cousin. "Do you not know what's been happening lately?" I say, hinting at something big. "Lauv said I'm showing early signs of awakening. You probably know how painful it is. You also know that Brenda is the catalyst for your awakening, just like with me. The crucial piece of information is—," I pause, seeing his confused expression, enjoying playing with him. "Exactly as you're thinking. I've been interested in your cousin from the start, suspecting Aurel's involvement in my symptoms. Fascinating, isn't it?" I explain, leaving Rex speechless with numerous questions. "But don't worry; they don't know about Aurel yet. I'm just speculating, but I'm sure it's connected to your cousin. I can guarantee Brenda and Lauv won't stay silent. They'll seek information about Aurel," I conclude, making Rex rub his face roughly. "You might be misunderstanding; it's unlikely that Aurel has anything to do with your awakening signs. She's just an ordinary human, no connection to wolves or anything," Rex responds, sometimes seeing his own kind as wild animals. He still seems to struggle with accepting his own awakening. "You do know there's no trace of Wolf blood or heritage in Aurel," Rex continues, leaving me speechless. It's the question that's been on my mind. I've had doubts from the beginning about my cousin's involvement in the signs, but there's one thing that's different this week, and a strange feeling whenever I look at or get close to her. "You can't say that for sure yet, as nothing is certain," I reply with a wide grin. I gaze at the shelf, contemplating. If Rex got his Wolf blood from his biological parents, how could Aurel trigger my awakening? "Even if that's true, I'll investigate it myself. As for Brenda and Lauv, they won't report to my father until they have definite answers. And until then, don't hinder me from meeting your cousin," I say, a sentence that completely unravels Rex's emotions. He grabs my jacket and gives me a murderous glare, but it stops there as my gray eyes shine. He struggles against the pain, dropping to his knees before me. He's my kind, the one who'll be under my control. Even though I haven't achieved my awakening yet, no wolf can touch me without my consent. Rex groans in front of me, his neck veins protruding as he suppresses the pain. "I can do anything I want to anyone, any wolf near me. I can manipulate them with just my finger, including you," I finish the sentence, touching Rex's forehead. Immediately, the man who never liked me transforms into a large, white-flecked gray wolf. He howls loudly before bowing his head. That's what will happen to my kind if they oppose my will. "Just carry out your tasks as usual, being Aurel's cousin. Take care of her until I find the answers in my head. Don't try to hinder or do anything else; in return, I won't hurt your cousin," I say, and the gray wolf in front of me lets out a weak howl. I then look around. We're currently in the dimension between my world and the human world, a place accessible only to people like us. It's a space where wolves communicate with each other, as I can't return to my original dimension during my exile. I'm trapped here until I receive orders from my father to return, and unfortunately, I've even lost track of how long I've been stuck in this human world. I observe Rex, who has returned to his original form. "You must keep your promise, do whatever you want, but never hurt Aurel even a bit," he says, leaving me silent. I know they have no blood relation, but for some reason, his concern for Aurel infuriates me. "I will only answer yes for now, and for the future, everything will be up to my desires. Hopefully, his cousin will have a good fate and won't have to deal with me for a considerable amount of time. I've been kind enough to not want to deal with humans anymore. I'm starting to feel disgusted with the life I'm living at the moment. Slowly, I walk out of the mist confined between the Neutral dimension and the three-dimensional humans, leaving behind someone staring at my back with a sharp gaze." I can't understand what's with the students here. How can they just be spectators when some of them are about to kill each other? Even now, my knees are still weak, and my hands are trembling from watching the fight earlier. I don't know which gray wolf fought with the ash-gray one, but they were both equally strong. They were evenly matched; when one struck, the other retaliated. I abandon the idea of going to the music room and end up sitting on a bench in the park, sipping mineral water until it's gone, hoping to calm my trembling. "What are you doing here?" Sflasshh!!
