I sprinted away from the crash. My breath hitched in my throat as I was t-boned at an intersection in the car I had stolen. The gang of prisoners and college boys is still searching for me, or they just hit the only other car on the road. They mocked and jeered at me as they catcalled, all but assuming they had already caught me. “Hey girlie, stop running and we’ll treat you right! Come on, there’s no reason for you to be afraid, just come here and take your clothes off.”
“You’re just tiring yourself out. You should just give up and save your energy for sucking our cocks.” The only one who didn’t speak was the older man in the back, who was struggling to keep up. He was the leader only because he was a prisoner; the college students with him were far scarier, but every group that went out had to have a prisoner with them so they didn’t get any ideas of betraying them.
I rushed into an old warehouse two buildings away from the hospital, my heart pumped in my chest as I caught my breath, trying to hide. The room was dark, only the light from the door, which wasn’t much because of the rain, seeped through. It left the building almost pitch black. The three of them blocked the door as they whispered just loud enough for me to hear.
I covered my mouth as I tried to keep my breathing as quiet as possible as I heard them speak. “Damn, I don’t . We should have brought some flashlights.” The older man caught up, breathing even harder than I as he spoke. “You… You two go… Go and find her… I’ll… I’ll guard the… The door.” The two walked in as they mumbled.
“Can’t see shit.” They went forward, and I went to the right when I entered. They quickly walked into the darkness, making it impossible for me to see where they were. I tried to think of what I could do to get past him, I think my best bet would be to run straight past the man guarding the door. No, I needed to find a different way out. As I was about to sneak further into the warehouse, hugging the wall to look for another opening, I heard one of the men cry out in pain. “W-what, ouch! Fuck, some- Something’s biting me!” I froze as I heard them scuffle back toward the entrance. The old man watching the door yelled out in fear. “D-don’t come this way.”
With just enough light to see a few feet in front of me and the light at the entrance, I couldn’t see what was happening until the man came back into view, fighting another man. But that wasn’t what was happening; the person sat in this dark, quiet place and sprang out the moment another human came just to consume his flesh. He was a zombie like from the movies!
That was my first thought, the second was that the college student who was attacked had been making less noise, my third thought was that there was a lot of blood coming from his throat… He was dead. The zombie had ripped his throat out, and now he was choking to death, the last dregs of his life were being spent pushing the zombie away from himself as they lay on the floor in front of the old man.
The man only watched for a few more seconds before he made a decision and ran instead of helping. Tears formed in the man’s eyes as he got weaker and weaker, the smaller zombie getting closer and closer until it ripped another chunk out of his throat. As it revelled in its victory meal, the second college student came rushing out of the darkness with a two-by-four in hand.
Even the zombie, relishing its victory, was stunned by the sudden sneak attack. The blow landed perfectly on its skull. It didn’t kill it, but it was enough to hurt it badly and daze it. The man swung with complete fervor on his mission. Blow after blow landed on the zombie as the college freshman showed his strength and resilience to problems.
Many wouldn’t have the courage to attack a zombie; the vast majority of humanity thinks they could, but when it came down to it, they’d either be too weak to make a difference, freeze up out of fear, or run like the other older man. It stunned me for just long enough to realize… He might look for me after he finishes with the zombie.
He heaved in deep breaths as he recovered from the sudden violence he had just done. That was when I noticed something: out of the crushed skull of the zombie, a ball rolled out. I felt an immediate connection with it, I wanted it for some reason. All my brain could think when I saw it was ‘mine’.
I couldn’t think straight as I slowly moved toward the ball as if it had me under a spell. Just before I reached the light, I stopped sneaking and made a rush for it. I would have never done this, I’d have never risked my own safety or life for something that flew out of someone's brain. But it was no longer my decision. I was driven forward by a feral instinct.
He didn’t notice me, solely focused on recovering, both hands on his knees as he looked into the darkness. I heard a growl come from deeper in the warehouse before I finally reached the core. Touching it, waves of pleasure flood my body as I feel myself change. My body locks up as I’m rocked by orgasm after orgasm, the core fundamentally changing my body as my powers activate.
When I came too from the waves of ecstasy, the man was fighting hand to hand with a zombie. The same pulling sense could be felt by the zombie, but also a different sense led me toward the man. At the same time, my teeth came down, sinking into the neck of the man. A flood of pleasure shot through me from the sudden boost in strength from the core. But also a different pleasure from consuming the blood of the man. I felt a connection formed between us as I pulled blood from him, every drop taken strengthened that connection.
It felt as if I continued further, I would begin weakening the boy; if I continued even further, he would die. I stopped myself, I wasn’t addicted to that new feeling I had when I drank blood. The man twitched as he turned toward me. His pallor had lightened dramatically from the amount of blood I drained, but he didn’t look at me with fear or hatred I’d have expected. No, he looked at me with pure adoration, he would follow me no matter where I went, and listen to whatever I told him to do.
We loaded up into his car as I told him to drive. I wasn’t sure where we were going, I just knew that I liked this new life of mine. I wondered if it was worth going back to the prison and taking over, but that just seemed boring; I’d much rather leave them to their fate and ambush weaker prey until I built up a similarly sized army to fight them.
