She smirked as Alex grabbed her arm dragging her to the Morning Dose coffee shop.
She willingly followed, already missing her favorite liquid even though it was just a day of absence.
"How did you become Taylor Swift in a day baby girl? And how do you manage to land your boss, our boss?" He asked eagerly, in hushed whispers that shouldn't be called that because of how loud it was.
She shook her head at him, in between clenched teeth, "I'll tell you if you stop ranting, okay?"
He nodded remorsefully and then grabbed a cup of strawberry smoothie, Maya knew he didn't care for. She ordered an expresso, and minutes later they made their way to a booth.
"Yes, I got engaged to our boss but I kept it a secret because I was trying to avoid this ruse and drama that is now arising."
He placed his hand on his chest like he had been wounded dramatically. "I thought we had something going on? Drama? I'll never," he inched closer to her, beckoning on her to bring her head closer, "So you guys practice office sex?"

She dodged glaring at him, her hair was not bitchy of recent and must have been done with cramps and pmsing but she was not going to let anyone upset her and test her patience.
"So off to some better details not my love sob story, when did something so bizarre happen? How did you melt our cold devil of a boss? when did you both start dating? How did he pop the question and when?"
"Well," she shifted in her seat, moisturized her lips then went on to pile lies upon lies about someone that she had just told she wanted them to try out friendship, while praying she remembers all the lies she dished out else it just might backfire.
Her phone rang in the middle of her lie, her bell ringing tune had never made her so thankful as she resisted the urge to sigh in relief..... She was saved by the Bell, literally, she thought with a small smile as she accepted the call.
Then dumping her half-finished expresso, she made a run for it, but as the elevators chimed she wondered if going up to meet a man she wanted to see naked all the time but couldn't have was more bearable than making up more tales from years of being a hopeless romantic.

All Xavier could feel was anger as he suddenly could relate to the frustration and despair Diane had felt when he had strictly friend-zoned her.
