Ever since Amani and I got hooked up by our parents, I isolated myself in one of my friends' house (Zubair). Not because of anything but because, I needed some time alone. Away from everyone in my family!
During the isolation, I had countlessly tried to reach out to Rahmat. I even went to her house thirce but was told she wasn't around, like she was also isolating herself somewhere. Who knows?
Anyways, I refused to give up. I kept trying until one day I called and she picked my call. That day, we talked for nearly an hour. I asked why she betrayed me and she told me she was so sorry about everything.
She also told me the guys that raped her were not her friends, they came to the club out of nowhere and took advantage of her while she was intoxicated.
"I warned you about alcohol, didn't I?" I said trying hard to control my anger.
"Yes, but I am sorry. I just couldn't resist the urge that's why!" She said and also told me she was pained about what happened that was why she couldn't stay at home anymore.
"Where are you right now?" I asked out of curiosity.
"You mustn't know, Hamid" She replied amidst sob. "You mustn't know"
"Why?" I queried.
"Because," She sniffed. "I don't want anybody to know" She continued. "So please, just move on with your life"
"As in..."
"Goodbye!"
And that was it, she hanged off the call and never picked my call again. I did all I could to reach her but to no avail, hence I decided to let her be with the intention of paying her a visit at work.
Albeit we were both given a month off by our boss for our wedding, but since the wedding didn't work out with her I believed she must have returned back to work already. So I drove to work the following day to check on her.
Unfortunately, as soon as I arrived I was told a very sad news that she had been fired a day after her xxx video went viral. I tried to defend her but our boss warned me, he told me to stand down or else I would be fired too.
That moment, I couldn't hold the anger in me. So I told him I quitted. It came as a big surprise to him. He tried so hard to stop me from leaving but I had to go. I had to leave. I told him to bring Rahmat back if really he wanted me to stay.
After the whole thing, I returned back to Zubair's house and narrated all that had happened to him. Alas, instead of him to console and support me he hissed and told me he wasn't happy at all with what I did.
Could you imagine that? He even went ahead to start querying me as to why I left my work because of a whore that didn't care about me.
His words really hurt me. In fact, a fight nearly broke between us if not for his disabled mother that interfered and told me to pack and leave to my house which I didn't object. I took my luggage and drove off.
On my way home, I met some of my friends and it seemed they were heading to Zubair's house. They usually visit me every day to console me in the house, although they were late today. Thus, I pulled over and told them I was going home.
"Home?!" They chorused.
They were so surprised, they never thought I would think about going to my house that soon. And before I knew it, they had started teasing me.
"Awwn, can't believe he's finally made up his mind to share bed with the poor little girl" Hafiz sarcastically said making others to burst into scornful laughter.
"Yesso, I can also see how eager he is to go home" Jamil chimed.
"Same here!" Amir chimed as well.
That was how they kept teasing me until I eventually yelled at them to stop and then narrated what had transpired between Zubair and I to them. I thought they would support him but none of them did, they only glanced at each other and shrugged.
"Let's escort you home" They said as they hopped into my car. And that was it, home we went.
We arrived at my house minutes later, and Jamil went out to open the gate for us which we drove in. After that, we went into my remarkable storey and I couldn't even express how much I missed it. By the way, it had been deserted already and the only person left was undoubtedly Amani.
"Seems the Queen is in the kitchen, 'cause I can smell something delicious" Jamil said making others to giggle.
"Really?" They sniffed the air around them.
Well, I could also perceive the smell too so I knew he wasn't lying. I had only ushered them to the sitting room, after which I went upstairs to keep my luggage in my room. The room was the same way I left it, nothing was tempered with.
But I could smell Amani's scent in it, which means she had probably been in the room. Ask me how I knew how she smelled and I would tell you I had been with her for so long to know a lot of things about her. She was my cousin and I held her while she was a baby!
After taking shower and changing into a flexible Jalabiya, I went downstairs to meet my friends. Surprisingly, I oversaw them in the dinning room with Amani serving them food. They were all laughing and only God knows what they were talking about.
