Prologue
My name is Devon Bradley. Three years ago, I met Theodore Wainwright, also known as Daeron Zrēlyen in the world of the fae. I was in senior year at that time. Up until that period, I hadn't known that faeries truly existed until I started to know more about, Theo, the golden eyed non- human that sneaked into my room through the window each time he chose to visit. Along the line, Theo told me that I was his soulmate and I discovered thereafter that not only was my soulmate, a half blooded faery; He was also the crown prince of the four lands of the fae kingdom. Owing to the fact that he held a high position in the fae kingdom, he had so many enemies. His uncle, Taerus was one of them. Taerus had murdered Theo's parents in cold blood when he'd been a little boy and had barely succeeded in killing Theo then. Theo had remained in the realm of the mortals in order to stay away from the major threat to his life, Taerus. The more I got to know Theo, the more I fell in love. He captured my heart without even trying and he loved me just as much as I did. But then, tragedy struck and Taerus invaded the mortal realm with an army of dark faeries and demons in a bid to rule over the mortal realm. Theo was able to destroy Taerus and in doing that, he saved mankind. Unfortunately, Taerus' sword had inflicted a life threatening injury on my Theo and he'd died shortly after the battle, in his own bed. I'd watched him die and it had felt like a part of me had died with him. I believed that it was over for me. If only I knew how wrong I was.
