Adrian sat on a couch inside a grand hall. His black Armani suit created a strong contrast with the white bandages wrapped around his palms, with every two inches covered in little bows from the top.
Adrian held a document in his hand but only the tip of his fingers touched the document. His bandages remained untouched, as if they would be corrupted if they accidentally grazed upon some surface other than his palm.
’’Second Master, the butler from the main mansion just informed that Miss Yu has already returned to the university...’’
Ji Yan trailed off when the phone rang. As he gazed at who the sender of the text was, danger alarms blared in his mind.
Adrian looked up from the document in his hand.
Ji Yan gulped, knowing that he had no other choice left at this moment. With both his hands, he passed the phone to the man carefully, "Second Master, it’s a text from Esther Yu."
’’Block her,’’ Adrian did not even look at the text.
"Yes,’’ Ji Yan got in action instantly and blocked the number.
It was only then he caught sight of the long message that described how Ella was missing from the dorms last night, today she returned with a man and not only that, it also contained details of how Esther, as a good sister, warned Ella to be loyal to Adrian.
God forbid, if the situation was like before and the other man in question wasn’t Kade, wouldn’t the scene become too chaotic by this point?

At this moment, Adrian suddenly put away the file and extended his hand.
Ji Yan: "_" Did Second Master suddenly change his mind about blocking Esther?
Hesitating, he passed the phone. After a few moments, Adrian opened his mouth, "Username."
Ji Yan was bewildered, "My username? It’s the_little_poor_secre... cough cough cough! Second Master, what username?"
When he leaned forward, he realized that Adrian was making an Instagram account.
Ji Yan was touched, "Second Master, you have finally agreed to being on social media? That’s good. You don’t need an username, only your name is enough...’’ He trailed off when the man’s brows furrowed.
Three consecutive messages from Ella popped up.

Ji Yan stepped to the side to rub down his gooseflesh but from the corner of his eyes, he caught sight of his second Master’s expressions and suddenly, he had a very bad feeling.
As Ella did her skincare, she received a text from Adrian.
It was so like him. Rolling her eyes, she smiled a little. Just as she was about to put the phone down, another text came—

Ella’s eyes widened and the skincare nearly dripped on the floor. She hurriedly reacted to the message with a little heart.
After she did her skincare, Ella was about to put the vial down. But then, she grabbed a nearby notebook and jotted down some of the ingredients on an empty page.
After noting a few things down, Ella went to her phone gallery and zoomed in to a picture that she had clicked in her apartment.
She then posted it on her social media account with a caption: [Missed me, my lovely fans?]
Unbeknownst to the chaos stirring in the Imperial University, Ella turned off her phone and called it a night.
The next morning, Ella got up at 5 am and went for her usual morning runs.
"I finally found you!"
The familiar voice slowed her pace only for a moment before Ella ran even faster.
Mo Jun frowned and increased his pace to catch up to her, "Hey, fatso, do you have something against me?"
Ella halted in her tracks and turned to the man, "A random stranger calling me fatso in the middle of the road. Even if you did not kill me in my past life, I would still hate you."
Mo Jun observed the girl with narrowed eyes, "You seem to have lost some weight since the last time I saw you. But on a second note, I don’t understand why you hate me...?"
’’Your existence isn’t enough of a reason?"
Ella continued running.
Mo Jun ran by her side, "You are quite a feisty one..."
Suddenly, shadows appeared in front of them.
"Brothers, it’s them!"
"The girl is also there!!"
"Take them down together..."
Ella’s movements slowed.
She recognized the men who were blocking their path.
These were the same people who had surrounded Mo Jun weeks ago. But she had used the discreet weapons handed by Adrian to take them down and save Mo Jun, not knowing who she was saving.
Ella’s head throbbed slightly and she turned to look at Mo Jun.
"Why are you looking at me like I am a jinx?"
"Because I have been running here for months now and I haven’t encountered a single crow. Yet, the moment I bump into you, somebody comes to claim my life."
As Ella retreated a few steps, the back of her head bumped into a solid chest.
"Don’t even think of escaping today!" A man cracked his knuckles, blocking her path to retreat.
"Take out your weapons, will you?"
Ella looked at Mo Jun in disbelief. Surely, without even knowing her identity, he was supporting his fiancee by trying to kill her!
"What? Why are you not moving? Where are all those weapons and smoke balls?"
"Don’t even think about it!" The man behind her grabbed her wrists in a deadlock.
Ella winced, glaring at Mo Jun, "Who brings weapons on a morning run? Won’t I kill myself if one of the balls blasted?!" she spoke through gritted teeth.
Mo Jun nodded slowly, "Then, you should have told me about it before rather than wasting my time..."
