Kade paused, looking at her a little doubtfully, ’’Tell me then. Why did my brother send the picture over along with such a caption?"
Ella turned her phone to him, ’’He is holding a file in his hand, indicating that he is there for work. Writing ’Only you’ means there is no one but me in his life. This is your brother’s way of assuring me that I shouldn’t be worried about anyone stealing him away.’’
The way Kade looked at her changed a little.
As much as he wanted to defy it, he knew that her analysis made complete sense.
"How do you even know that?"
Ella sighed inwardly. Why did she find that stupid caption a little cute anyway?
’’Single dogs wouldn’t understand!" Her inner thoughts did not show up on her face.
Looking at her cocky face made Kade’s teeth ache.
But the girl threw her phone in her bag and left in a hurry.
’’Hey, where are you running off to?"
Ella turned to look at him, ’’I am late for class.’’
"Late for class?" Kade gave her a side eye, "What class?"
Ella looked at him like he had grown two heads.
On the way, she avoided the guy and went to the class.
When Ella reached the classroom, her footsteps halted at the entrance.
The students were moving in and out as if it was the beginning of the day.
Ella received countless hostile and judgemental gazes but that did not ruffle her as much as the weird setup did.
Half of the classes should have been over now. Why were the students carrying their bags and entering the class at the same time as her, the newcomer?
"Didn’t you see the notice that the classes are postponed?" Kade saw her standing there in a daze and asked when he approached her.
Gasps rose in the classroom when Kade was spotted but those gasps of awe turned into gasps of shock when they saw their God approaching Ella.
Ella was a bit too taken aback by the situation to pay attention to the girls’ feelings, ’’What notice?" She asked.
"The classes were postponed today. So, going by the timing, they should be starting in 5 minutes from now.’’
"What...?" Ella’s face had a question mark printed on her face.
"Brother did that!" Kade shrugged a shoulder as if his brother got Ella a coriander.
Ella was speechless, ’’He did not just move the damn schedule of the university... Did he?"
"What a bumpkin!" Kade rolled his eyes and strolled inside the class.
Suddenly, Ella remembered the Old Madam’s words from yesterday:
’You stay for the night and leave early in the morning? Little Ian will make all the arrangements for you to not miss the class.’
So, when she said arrangements, she was not talking about cars and clothes?
The ways of the rich... sure blinded the poor huh?
Ella recovered from her surprised state pretty quick and strolled inside the class.
Suddenly, she felt a cold chill on her back.
When she turned around, she was taken back by the sight of the girls staring at her vengeance.
Standing there with their fierce gazes and silent stance, they looked like lingering ghosts that had crawled out of hell to deal with her.
While Ella was confused, her gaze landed on Jasmine, Kade’s wife in previous life. The girl had her face covered in tears as she elegantly bit onto a handkerchief.
It suddenly hit Ella that these girls were offended because of her conversation with Kade just now.
If stares could kill, she’d be a fossil. All because some genetically blessed man happened to speak to her.
Ella turned to Jasmine but the girl squeezed out more tears and turned her face away.
With a sigh, she walked off to her seat.
"What were you standing there admiring the class for?" Kade looked at her, twirling a pen between his fingers.
Ella glanced at him, ’’Act like you did before.’’
’’What?" The pen dropped from Kade’s grip, ’’What do you mean?"
’’All the girls are looking at me with hatred.’’
Kade self-righteously straightened up in his seat, ’’You are making it sound like they looked at you with love before."
"That’s different. But I hate it when pretty girls hate me because of guys.’’
"You...’’ Kade’s eyes widened, ’’Pretty girls? I always knew your orientation was fishy! So you were just pretending in front of my brother!"
Ella gave him a side eye. But she stopped herself from responding when she saw all the girls staring at her with murderous eyes.
Ah, whatever! It’s not like she did not have enough enemies. Why would she go make some more for no solid reason?
Kade: "_" So, she really bends both ways.
In the chaos, Ella’s gaze landed on the empty seat in the front.
Kade was speechless. She was not only keen on all the girls in the class, but she was even looking for Ruby who was absent!
He did not dare to think... What would his brother think if he knew that the wife he was absolutely loyal to was such a lecher as soon as she stepped out of his sight?
At this moment, Jenny entered the class and the class regained its composure.
’’I have a few announcements to make today.’’
’’You will be having your mid-semester examinations the next week.’’
Gasps rose in the class as students looked at each other, anxiety seeping the air.
"Silence!" Jenny stepped forward, ’’Due to some official issues in the university, the dates were not finalized yet but now that it is done, you will receive the official notice by tonight.
So for that, I wish you best of luck. You can start preparing for your exams. I know that you can do well.’’
Her gentle appearance and words calmed the chaotic class.
"Now, I suppose all of you have received the results of your class test.’’
Hearing that, Kade’s accusing gaze landed on Ella.
Ella sat in her seat, looking completely unbothered.
Jenny continued, ’’This was a backup test for those who might score bad in the upcoming exams. We will accordingly add a percentage of the marks you scored in the class test there in order to improve your overall marks."
Jenny stepped aside and pulled up her file, ’’Here I have a list of students who have done bad in the backup test.’’
Kade frowned, ’’Do you think she is gonna call us one by one and humiliate us?" he whispered in Ella’s ears.
