"It’s pear soup made by the chef; it can reduce inflammation and cool you down." Si Yuhuan helped her sit, then shoved the pear soup into her hands. "Drink it yourself."
She never expected him to feed her anyway. But Si Yuhuan already made her look at him in a new light. The emotions secretly sprouting in her heart were once again suppressed.
The refreshing pear soup slid down her throat, indeed relieving the discomfort in Jian Xi’s throat.

"Do I?" Jian Xi only felt cold and listless; it had not crossed her mind that she might have caught a cold.
Si Yuhuan called the doctor over. After the examination, the doctor frowned deeply.
He scowled. "Is it serious?"
"No! Miss Jian’s body is fine. If you’re really feeling unwell, take some anti-inflammatory pills."
Once the doctor left, Jian Xi immediately clarified, "I’m not faking illness; I really feel unwell. Just because he couldn’t find anything doesn’t mean I’m not in discomfort."
"I didn’t say anything." He brought over a chair and sat facing her.
Jian Xi was puzzled. "Have you been in the hospital the whole time without leaving?"
She had been tired then and had fallen asleep. Probably the bump on her head did have some effect.
Si Yuhuan nodded and didn’t say much, sitting there like a statue.
Probably the first time in his life he’s played the role of a caretaker. Deep down, Jian Xi was inexplicably elated; even the throbbing headache seemed to subside. "Feeling unwell means I shouldn’t eat? Won’t that slow down my recovery? You might end up needing caretaking tomorrow!" Jian Xi was brazen. "You caused my injury, so you should take extra care of me. That’s what a man should do, right?"
She flattered him skillfully. Si Yuhuan fumed but had nowhere to vent his anger. He realized that the current Jian Xi could be described as sharp-tongued, a far cry from her former timidity.
It turned out the chef and servants hadn’t left. Soon, someone brought in some food.
Jian Xi finished eating and continued to boss Si Yuhuan around. "I want to take a bath. Fetch me a bath towel and a change of pajamas."
"Dream on." Si Yuhuan finally couldn’t be bothered with her anymore.
Then he lay down on her hospital bed and closed his eyes.
Having silently dealt with a whole day’s work, he was exhausted, his entire body drained of energy.

He pinned down half of her body, controlling her with just one hand.
The disparity in strength between men and women was stark. Jian Xi pursed her lips, not even daring to breathe heavily.

She was being realistic.
"Good that you know."
