Chapter 50 [Chen Yan’s Troubles]
Chen Yan went to East City Antiques and Folk Street and found a folk woodwork shop. As soon as he walked in, a shop assistant greeted him.
"Hello, can I help you with anything?"
Chen Yan pondered for a moment, "Can you customize woodwork?"
"Of course, we have our own workshop and master craftsmen who hand carve objects. What would you like to customize?"
Chen Yan: "...a memorial tablet. Can you make one?"
The assistant wasn’t surprised—their business dealt with all kinds of custom wooden objects, including memorial tablets.
Seeing Chen Yan’s clear intent, the assistant’s smile became more genuine—this deal looked promising.
"Certainly, sir! We have several styles and sizes for you to choose from, along with various types of wood with different prices. You can pick accordingly."
After speaking, the assistant took out a tablet and opened a photo album for Chen Yan to choose from.
Chen Yan took it, swiped a few times, and picked a standard-looking design with mid-range wood.
After paying, while leaving his contact information, the assistant casually asked, "Are you preparing for an ancestral rite at home towards the end of the year? We also sell other ritual items..."
"No, it’s not for an ancestral rite."
"It’s for a wedding."
Chen Yan said this, then walked out immediately, leaving the assistant stunned.
Just past New Year’s, it wasn’t long until Spring Festival, and there were more tourists than usual on Antique Street.

Elder Zi quietly took an item from her bag and pushed it towards President Fang.
President Fang squinted, feigning curiosity, "Elder Zi, what’s this?"
"I’m here to apologize." Elder Zi spoke kindly, "My sect was unfortunate to produce someone as unruly as Luo Qing, who acted disrespectfully towards you, doing many unseemly things. As his introducer, I bear part of the responsibility."
President Fang’s smile faded, observing Elder Zi calmly.
Elder Zi continued, "I only returned to Jinling Prefecture last night and interrogated him thoroughly. He’s been punished severely.
Now, he’s confined to self-reflection, and Luoyun House is closed for six months.
I know you’re still dissatisfied with the losses Luo Qing caused you. I brought compensation; you can check if it’s sufficient."
Elder Zi’s posture was humble, as she was sure she’d found the right person.
Someone either hired a thug against Luo Qing, or enlisted a mystical technique practitioner to deal with him. At least, one of these scenarios involved President Fang!
Because upon entering, Elder Zi saw that the office’s furniture, bookcase—all had been replaced!
