Unlike usual, that night Adrien felt very sleepy and weak. Gilbert asked a servant to take care of the king’s needs so he could rest.
Elias helped him lie down on the bed. Cold sweat instantly drenched Adrien’s body, even though he kept complaining that he felt cold.
"Are you feeling unwell?" Elias asked as he checked Adrien’s face.
Adrien shook his head. "I don’t know. I feel very tired. I can’t open my eyes," he said weakly.
Elias was clearly worried about him, but Adrien held his hand and smiled.
"I just need to rest. You can go back to your room and sleep," said Adrien.
Elias shook his head. "Can I stay with you tonight?" he asked.
Adrien chuckled softly and nodded. "Of course, my dear."
Gilbert smiled at the two of them. He asked if Adrien needed anything else, then left immediately when Adrien said he did not.
After Gilbert left, Elias took off his clothes and changed into the pajamas in the king’s dressing room.
But when he came out, his eyes widened when he saw Adrien groaning.
"Adrien..." Elias rushed to him and held his body.
Elias stared at Adrien, who had his eyes closed as if he was enduring pain. His breathing was labored, sweat dampened his temples, and his pajamas were wet.
Elias took off his clothes and found a mark on the man’s chest that was moving and glowing. His eyes widened with concern.
"Adrien..." Elias called out, making sure the man was still conscious.
Adrien moaned softly, sometimes mumbling as if delirious. His body felt like it was burning from within, and his heartbeat was painfully fast.
"I’ll call the doctor," said Elias, letting go of Adrien’s body, but the king held his hand to stop him.
"No. It’s not necessary. Stay here," he said, gripping the man’s hand tightly.
Elias became even more worried.
Adrien then coughed, clutching his chest as his body shook violently. The nausea was unbearable, and he leaned over the edge of the bed. He vomited the entire contents of his stomach.
Elias was shocked and immediately called the guards. He was afraid something terrible had happened to Adrien. He remembered what Ibran had said and feared that the witch who had cursed Adrien was now trying to kill him.
Adrien struggled hard to endure. His whole body shook, and he kept vomiting until there was nothing left. The mark on his chest was gradually fading.
Elias panicked and told the guards to call Doctor Rhanda immediately. In an instant, the palace was in an uproar. The servants who were still awake became anxious when they saw the king’s personal servants rushing about.
Security was tightened. James even rushed over. The king was unwell, and if something happened, he had to be ready. He did not understand why Adrien had suddenly fallen ill.

When James arrived at the king’s room, he asked permission to enter. He was greeted by Gilbert, who looked tired and anxious. Inside the room, the servants were quietly cleaning, and one handed a washcloth to Rhanda, who was sitting beside the bed with her medical equipment.
Elias stood beside Adrien, staring at the king, who looked as pale as a corpse. His heart sank when Adrien stopped moving.
Surprisingly, Rhanda found no signs of illness. The only abnormal thing was the king’s rapid heartbeat. His body temperature and everything else were normal. This made the doctor take a long time to check, to avoid mistakes.
James ordered the servants and guards to leave the room once they had finished their tasks. He gave the usual order not to tell anyone what they had seen in the king’s chamber.
Elias froze when he realized the mark on Adrien’s chest was gone. He frowned and opened the king’s clothes wider to get a better look.
The mark had disappeared.
Rhanda looked at Elias questioningly.
"Nothing, I just checked something," Elias said. He looked back at Adrien, who still had his eyes closed.
Rhanda gave Adrien a potion to restore his energy and ease the nausea. The doctor had found no symptoms. By this time, Adrien’s blood pressure and heart rate had returned to normal.
Adrien opened his eyes, and the first thing he said was to ask for food.

Elias, who had almost fainted from fear, let out a long breath. "How are you? How do you feel?" he asked, still worried.
Adrien looked at Elias. "It seems like I was dreaming that I was on a battlefield. It was very tiring. Now I just feel very hungry."
He tried to get up. Elias tried to help him, but Adrien stopped him by grabbing his arm.
Adrien fell silent, half awake on the bed. He stared at Elias with a sharp gaze, making Elias even more worried.
They stared at each other for a few seconds.
"Elias..." Adrien said, making Elias anxious.
"I can feel my legs," he continued, pulling back the thin blanket covering his lower body.
Elias was shocked to see Adrien’s toes move, even more shocked when his leg lifted slightly.
Now, not only Elias but everyone in the room stared in disbelief as they came closer. Their shock turned into quiet cries of gratitude.
Adrien kept trying to move his legs, and after confirming that he could move both of them, he could not hide his excitement.
Elias was speechless. He was too happy.
