Pokemon: The Gameboy Effect Chapter 438

Damian's Mega Gengar used its six "arms" to desperately fend off the attacks from the surrounding spiritual hands. But such resistance was futile. As the saying goes, two fists can't beat four hands, and though it had six fists, the number of arms produced by Never-Ending Nightmare numbered in the tens of thousands. The endless arms of the spirit world nearly submerged Mega Gengar completely, and Damian's Pokemon couldn't even Teleport to escape. It wasn't until the blade of the Phantom General fell and slashed through everything cleanly that Damian's Mega Gengar was finally able to break free. Even so, it bore surprisingly few visible wounds. But when Mega Gengar escaped its predicament, a grimace larger than the Phantom General itself appeared before its eyes, a massive maw that seemed capable of swallowing the entire world in one gulp. After releasing Never-Ending Nightmare, John had resolutely activated Dynamax. This was the Mega Gengar King, already enlarged by King's Presence, now made twice the size of a normal Dynamaxed Pokemon. Standing on the spiritual battlefield, the Ghost King was a veritable demon god, a terrifying demon that devoured all ghosts. The spiritual battlefield had been open for some time, drawing many Ghost-type Pokemon and actual spirits to the area. But sensing this overwhelming presence, they immediately turned tail and fled, escaping at speeds several times faster than their arrival! "Shadow Ball!" John commanded. The gigantic Gengar began gathering Ghost-type energy in its massive mouth, an opening that looked like a portal to another dimension. Immediately, a huge vortex appeared in the sky, absorbing all surrounding energy and transforming it into a colossal Mega Shadow Ball. Riley and Victor, who had been watching the battle from midair, hurriedly directed their Pokemon to fly much farther away. If they didn't get distance, they'd definitely be caught in the crossfire. As for the two small islands near the central island... well, after this battle ended, all three islands would probably be gone. "Gengar, we're going Dynamax too!" Damian stared at the Shadow Ball that was large enough to eclipse the entire sky, took a deep breath, and quickly pulled out his Pokeball to recall Mega Gengar. First Dynamax, then release. Out came Dynamax Mega Gengar. Compared to John's Gengar, however, it was still much smaller, giving off the distinct impression of a son facing his father. The Demon Shadow that had been canceled due to the Pokeball recall reactivated simultaneously. And because Mega Gengar had been Dynamaxed, the demon shadow it summoned was also gigantically enlarged. In an instant, a Phantom General over a hundreds meters tall and composed entirely of Ghost-type energy appeared on the battlefield. Though enlarged like a computer image with noticeably reduced resolution, the armor's texture visibly blurred, this didn't diminish the terrifying improvement in the Phantom General 's aura in the slightest. On the mainland dozens of kilometers away, many residents playing on the beach discovered this horrifying scene. People fled the coast screaming, running to spread the word. Some began calling the police, claiming a demon god had descended to destroy the earth. The few trainers still confident in their abilities sent out their own Pokemon to investigate. On the battlefield where John and Damian were fighting, the Shadow Ball launched while the Phantom General swung its guan dao in a devastating slash. Energy collided, and darkness erupted instantly. The extreme darkness was as blinding as extreme light. The sound was deafening, like the earth itself splitting apart. Surging energy burst forth and dissipated, covering a radius of several kilometers. Terrifying power tore outward in all directions, causing even the air to vibrate violently with faint traces of spatial fractures. As trainers, John and Damian had already vanished from the battlefield. As the epicenter of energy collision and explosion, the area would inevitably be flooded with terrible power, forces capable of destroying a city in an instant, let alone the small island beneath their feet. So before the collision, Gardevoir had teleported John to safety. Damian had been whisked away by his own Mismagius. Dark clouds gathered overhead as heavy rain began to fall, as if the heavens themselves were acting as firefighters to extinguish the flames of war. However, the battle was far from over. When the surging energy gradually dissipated in the air and rain, two Pokemon were revealed. Both John's Gengar and Damian's Gengar remained standing at full strength. The previous exchange had been purely a violent collision of energies. With such massive forces involved, it was difficult to determine which side held the advantage. John and Damian stood facing each other, though they maintained considerable distance. Confirming that their opponent's Pokemon still retained fighting capability, they launched into their final attacks. "Gengar, this will decide everything, Six Path Ghost Shadow Slash!" Damian shouted. Mega Gengar's eyes blazed with brilliant purple light, a sign of its absolute maximum effort. Pressing both hands against the spirit world's space, it caused a massive disturbance. Different from Six Path Ghost Shadow Fist, Six Path Ghost Shadow Slash was actually a technique of the Phantom General itself. In the blink of an eye, the demon shadow general behind Mega Gengar sprouted four additional massive arms and five more guan dao blades. The Phantom General now wielded six hands and six blades, its image no longer that of an earthly general, but an Asura from the depths of hell! Under Mega Gengar's control, the Phantom General charged forward, wielding six guan dao in a devastating coordinated assault against the Gengar King. Facing Damian's ultimate technique, John decided to unleash his own trump card. He reached up and unbuttoned the top button of his shirt, revealing a stone that blazed with brilliant light. After three intense battles, the resonance stone had reached full charge. "Resonance Explosion!" John declared, striking his chest. An additional status appeared on Gengar 's interface: [Resonance Explosion: Pokemon gains "Superior Body" condition, and the next skill is sublimated to "Super Ultimate," with power increased by 50%, lasting 10 seconds.] Mega Evolution, Dynamax, spiritual battlefield, every possible buff was now fully activated. John roared: "G-Max Terror!" ᴛʜɪs ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀ ɪs ᴜᴘᴅᴀᴛᴇ ʙʏ noᴠelfire.net G-Max Terror, Gengar's exclusive Dynamax move. In an instant, John's Gengar's pupils turned blood red, like a true ghost. Its figure swayed slightly, as if trembling, but in the next moment, countless Gengar Kings split off from the original, covering the sky and blotting out the sun. At the same time, the six-armed Phantom General flew forward with Mega Gengar, blades gleaming with deadly intent.
