Pokemon: The Gameboy Effect Chapter 425

The battlefield lay in complete ruins. Throughout the stadium, spectators rose from their seats one by one, jaws agape, eyes locked on the devastated arena below. "What move did that Garchomp just use?" "If I heard correctly, it should be Precipice Blades? But... what kind of move is that?" "Never heard of it. Is it some newly developed technique?" "You idiot! That’s the exclusive signature move of the legendary Pokemon Groudon! Were you sleeping during Pokemon class?" "Wait, isn’t everyone missing the real point here? This trainer John obviously has such a powerful Garchomp, so why is he using Kubfu as his main Pokemon?" The audience buzzed with confusion. Only those familiar with Precipice Blades truly understood Garchomp’s incredible power. But even more people were baffled by John’s strategy. Why choose Kubfu as his primary battler when he possessed such a devastating Garchomp? What kind of bizarre game plan was this? On the battlefield, John stood calmly, waiting for the battle to continue. The match wasn’t over yet, Scizor hadn’t lost its ability to fight. Across the arena, Chloe was drenched in sweat, her heart hammering against her ribs. That Precipice Blades attack had nearly scared her soul right out of her body. You have such a monstrous Garchomp and it’s just support? This is insane! You’re totally sandbagging, pretending to be weak while hiding your true strength! I’ve encountered a complete monster! Chloe gasped heavily, abandoning her initial assumption that John was "just some rookie who got lucky with a Kubfu." She now realized with crystal clarity that if Garchomp had been the main Pokemon, her Scizor wouldn’t have lasted thirty seconds. Fortunately, her cautious nature had saved her at the crucial moment. The instant Scizor launched its attack, she’d already gripped a Pokeball in her palm. When Garchomp appeared and unleashed that terrifying Precipice Blades, she’d immediately released her backup. It was Alakazam, with Teleport as its registered move. So the moment those deadly rock spears erupted from the ground, Scizor vanished, teleported directly to a height of 100 meters, falling slowly back down only after the chaotic stone pillars had finished their destructive dance. "Thud..." Steel feet touched the ground. As the target of that devastating attack, Scizor also felt lingering terror. For a brief moment while facing Garchomp’s Precipice Blades, it had genuinely believed it would be over right there. "Scizor, use Iron Defense!" Chloe commanded. Not knowing what John’s other support Pokemon might be, she had to prepare with maximum vigilance. Scizor crossed its massive red pincers, silver-white light flashing as its defensive capabilities skyrocketed in an instant. "Teleport, interesting," John commented with an amused smile. ᴛʜɪs ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀ ɪs ᴜᴘᴅᴀᴛᴇ ʙʏ novel(ꜰ)ire.net While Precipice Blades was incredibly powerful, its attack patterns had limitations. The rock spears emerged from the earth, making it difficult to damage airborne enemies. Actually, it wasn’t just Precipice Blades, all Ground-type moves shared this weakness. "However, even if you dodged Precipice Blades, can you dodge the next move?" John reached for another Pokeball, preparing to release his second support Pokemon. Chloe immediately tensed, Pokeball at the ready. Her strategy was simple: as long as she could block John’s second support Pokemon’s attack, the rest would be smooth sailing, watching Scizor demolish that little Kubfu would be pure entertainment. "I’m counting on you, Lugia, show them what you’ve got!" John’s Pokeball opened, and a massive black bird emerged. Its enormous wings spread wide, casting the entire battlefield in shadow like a dark storm cloud. Lugia beat its wings and soared straight into the clear sky, then at the peak of its ascent, turned sharply and dove straight down. Its colossal body carved through the air, white mist trailing from its form like the vapor trails of a supersonic jet. Still 100 meters from the ground, the terrifying air pressure was already crushing the entire battlefield. Scizor found itself completely immobilized by this pressure, embedded in the arena’s soil amidst the chaotic remnants of the Precipice Blades assault. Chloe didn’t move either, not because of the air pressure, but because she was utterly stunned by the sight of Lugia. She stared with wide eyes, unable to believe what she was seeing. Lugia? A shiny Pokemon at that! What the hell is this? How am I supposed to fight this thing? Her support Pokemon was admittedly powerful, Aggron capable of Mega Evolution, but how could it possibly face Lugia, the legendary Pokemon known as the god of monsoons and ocean currents? Block Lugia’s Flying-type ultimate attack Sky Attack? If Scizor and Mega Aggron combined didn’t die instantly from this blow, it would only be because John and Lugia were showing mercy. The 100-meter distance was nothing to Lugia, and Chloe couldn’t bring herself to release any assistance before the end. A massive explosion thundered across the sky. The entire battlefield instantly collapsed, ground caving in, walls shattering, terrifying energy overflowing like a pressure cooker with its lid blown off. The violent air currents created whirlwinds that would have caught several spectators if not for the emergency energy shields that activated instantly. The battle was over. Even though no one had clearly seen whether Scizor had lost its ability to fight, everyone already knew the result. Under such a devastating blow, neither Scizor nor Chloe stood a chance. When the smoke finally cleared... Scizor lay on the collapsed ground, half-buried in mud, spiral swirls in its eyes. As everyone expected, it had completely lost its ability to fight. Not far away, Kubfu hadn’t moved a single step. It stood calmly on the only unbroken patch of ground, because the surrounding terrain had collapsed and shattered, falling several meters below the original level. This made it appear as though it were standing atop a stone pillar, majestically overlooking the defeated Scizor below. The little Fighting-type radiated quiet confidence!
