Laughter rippled through the crowd.
Scanning the audience, John noticed how the seating arrangements had changed. Originally designed for 500 people, the venue had been expanded to accommodate 1,000, yet the first 400 seats remained empty while the back 100 were completely packed.
Each of these 600 attendees had gone through a rigorous selection process.
John had enlisted the help of Azure's contacts to develop an official website for the breeding company. It was through this website that people could apply for a spot at the Blind Date Conference.
There were only 300 available slots, with each participant allowed to bring one guest.
The minimum requirement? A net worth exceeding 10 billion.
For elite trainers and the ultra-wealthy, 10 billion was hardly a concern—and that was net worth, not liquid cash!
All 300 slots were filled within a day.
Those who missed out frantically sought favors from Azure, hoping to squeeze their way in. More than a hundred tried, but John turned them all away without exception.
Meeting the right Pokemon was about destiny. If you couldn't even secure a ticket, it simply wasn't meant to be.
Still, John figured he could raise the bar next time. Ten billion felt a little too low. And perhaps he should expand the venue further.
"Let's welcome today's stars!" John gestured grandly.
Leading the charge was a stunning Mega Shiny Gardevoir, making a dazzling entrance. Behind her followed nine Ralts... and one unexpected guest—a Gible.
As John recalled his Gardevoir, the audience's focus locked onto the small dragon.
"Wait... is that a Gible?!"
"Master John, is that Gible for sale too?!" someone shouted, barely able to contain their excitement.
John smirked. "Of course. It's tonight's grand finale!"
The room erupted in an uproar.
A breeding company selling a Dragon-type pseudo-legendary? That was practically unheard of!
Dragon-types bred by professional breeders typically came from the three major dragon sanctuaries in the region. However, those dragons were almost always reserved for in-house trainers. Schools like Riverstone Academy, for instance, only entrusted their best students with dragon-types.
Wild Dragon-type pseudo-legendaries were nearly impossible to find.
Sure, some trainers ventured into uncharted territories and stumbled upon them, but if they did, they were either keeping them or passing them down to their protégés. And on the rare occasion someone wanted to sell one, it never made it to the open market. Breeders would intercept the deal before it ever reached an auction.
That's why, while Gym Leaders, Elite Four members, and Champions often had dragon pseudo-legendaries, your average trainer rarely ever saw one outside of textbooks.
Yet, here John was, openly auctioning a Gible.
His reputation was already skyrocketing, but this move solidified his status as an industry game-changer.
John, however, found their reaction a little over the top.
After all, he had randomly encountered this Gible while passing through the Lumiose Badlands.
"Alright, let's bring out our first star of the night!" John gestured again.
A small Ralts took a tentative step forward as the curtain behind it slowly dropped.

"Ladies and gentlemen, this Ralts boasts perfect IVs in HP, Special Attack, and Speed. A female Ralts with these stats is a prime candidate for evolving into a top-tier Gardevoir. I don't think I need to elaborate on its value."
The crowd murmured in agreement.
"Naturally, a Pokemon of this caliber won't come cheap."
John paused for effect before announcing, "The starting price is 300 million!"
A hushed silence fell over the room.
The price of Ralts had just skyrocketed tenfold!
Still, for top-tier trainers, a 3V Ralts was infinitely more valuable than ten 1V Ralts. After all, no one was raising ten Ralts at once. And as Pokemon advanced in training, every incremental improvement became exponentially more expensive. Investing early in a high-IV Pokemon saved trainers an astronomical amount in the long run.
Of course, this price tag was only justified if John's assessment of IVs was accurate.
His methods had sparked heated debates within breeder circles. However, top breeders like the "Dog King" had publicly endorsed his evaluation skills, significantly boosting his credibility.

"Alright! If you can afford the price and are serious about taming this Ralts, please move to the front 400 seats!" John called out.
