Hank knelt on the ground, his face ashen.
His assistants moved to help him, but Hank waved them away.
"It's fine! I'm not done yet!" Hank coughed dryly, struggling to stand upright.
He could still fight—at least enough to finish this battle!
John looked at Hank and sighed softly.
Hank hadn't been struck by Moonblast, but was being drained by the combination of Z-moves and Dynamax energy. Whether it was Mega Evolution, Z-moves, or Dynamax, these powerful techniques consumed not only the Pokémon's energy but the Trainer's as well.
The only difference was that both Mega Evolution and Dynamax required continuous effort, while Z-moves were one-time exertions.
John was young and physically fit, allowing him to bear the drain of powering both Garchomp and Gardevoir in succession. But Gym Leader Hank was in his sixties. Even with his active lifestyle working on his farm, John could clearly see his breathing growing more labored after using the Z-move.
Now Hank had to sustain Machamp's Dynamax form. The longer Machamp maintained the transformation, the more it would tax Hank's stamina.
With Dynamax Machamp taking damage but maintaining its giant form, Hank's energy was being consumed at an alarming rate.
John realized he might not even need to attack—Dynamax itself might defeat Hank through sheer exhaustion.
Despite this, Gym Leader Hank managed to stand, offering John a strained grin.
"Thank you for giving me such an extraordinary final match," he said softly.
"As a reward, I'll condense everything from my trainer career into this final blow!"
"John, brace yourself!"
Gym Leader Hank took a deep breath and raised his right hand. In his eyes flashed memories of his lifelong journey.
When I was eighteen, my family was poor. To help fulfill my dream of becoming a trainer, my father—a construction worker—gave me a Machop that had been moving bricks at his worksite on the day I came of age.
I didn't get into Pokémon University, and I refused to attend a regular college only to graduate into an ordinary life.
With just Machop by my side, I plunged into the nearby wilderness.
Thus began days of living on the edge—dancing with danger.
I fell from cliffs searching for Pokémon items; battled other Trainers to the brink for rare Pokémon; even took bounties from police stations to obtain evolution stones.
I faced betrayal that nearly killed me and received help from nobles who saved me from peril.
Without doubt, I've been fortunate.
By thirty, I was well-known in the trainer world.
By thirty-five, my contest victories made me famous.
Eventually, I became a Gym Leader.
For the next two decades, I worked tirelessly to reach the Elite rank.
Battle after battle, defeat after defeat, I kept fighting.
Yet I never reached those heights.
But... I've never regretted choosing the Trainer's path. What mattered wasn't how high I climbed, but enjoying every step of the journey with my Pokémon!
Today, it's time to write the final Chapter of my trainer career.
Hank's right hand fell heavily, his voice resonating with decades of experience and determination.
"Machamp, G-max Elementalstrikes!"
"Haah!" It sounded like a gust of wind sweeping across the battlefield.
The four mighty fists of Dynamax Machamp began to glow with four different elemental energies.
One fist blazed with fire, another was encased in frost, the third crackled with golden lightning, and the fourth radiated brilliant white energy.
"Using Fire Punch, Ice Punch, Thunder Punch, and Dynamic Punch simultaneously?" John's eyes widened in disbelief.
Hey! That's not even possible! Machamp has four arms, but they're not meant to be used that way!
John finally understood what Hank meant by condensing his entire career into this final attack, this was a technique Hank himself had created!
Channeling its Trainer's determination, Machamp bent down and launched all four fists toward Mega Gardevoir at once.
In that instant, the air before John and Mega Gardevoir erupted with multicolored energy stars.
It was as if the sky had been filled with fireworks, dazzlingly beautiful yet deadly! The attack contained the merged will of Dynamax Machamp and Hank, brimming with both determination and lethal intent!
Dynamax Machamp wasn't just throwing four punches, it was throwing five!
It was delivering Fire Punch, Ice Punch, Thunder Punch, and Dynamic Punch all in the rapid-fire style of Bullet Punch!
The energies of the four elements burst forth repeatedly, creating an effect greater than the sum of its parts.
John could hardly imagine what would happen to a Pokémon struck by such an assault. Burns, Freezing, Paralysis, and Confusion all at once?
"Gardevoir, unleash everything! Future Sight! Teleport!" John shouted, gritting his teeth.
I respect your past, Hank. But as a Trainer, I too want to win this battle with the Pokémon who've fought alongside me!
Feeling John's burning desire for victory, Mega Gardevoir's psychic energy surged wildly. Blue veins stood out on her neck as one hand pressed against her forehead while the other stretched forward.
Countless Mega Gardevoir afterimages flickered through the air.
Dynamax Machamp's perception was heightened to its limit, each punch aimed precisely where Mega Gardevoir would appear.
The four fists moved so rapidly that only afterimages and streaks of colorful energy remained visible.
With Future Sight, Mega Gardevoir predicted the trajectory of Dynamax Machamp's punches moments before they struck. With Teleport, she narrowly avoided Machamp's fists again and again.
Both sides pushed beyond their limits, engaged in a battle that transcended normal physical capabilities.
Frenzied attacks met desperate evasions!
The battle reached its peak intensity.
But Hank's brilliant final assault was like his last moment of glory—spectacular but fleeting.
Ten seconds later, Machamp's gigantic form collapsed, and Gym Leader Hank fell to the ground.
His strength completely depleted, he lost consciousness immediately.
His assistants rushed to his aid.
The referee announced the result: "Machamp is unable to battle. Gym Leader Hank has lost all four Pokémon and has no remaining Pokémon available. The winner of this match is John!"
