Ash's Next Move Stuns Everyone!
"Quick, Charizard, charge into the tornado and grab Articuno directly!"
"What? Can you even use a move like that?"
Ash's bold strategy shocked everyone.
Charizard dove into the combination of Fire Spin and Whirlwind that it had created, completely surrounding itself in flames. Using its close position to Articuno, Charizard reached out and grabbed it! Charizard, as a Fire-type, could handle the heat, but Articuno, an Ice-type, was taking serious damage within the fiery whirlwind, intensified by the spinning force of the tornado.
Noland yelled, "Articuno, break free! Use Peck on Charizard!"
Articuno struggled fiercely, pecking at Charizard's body in desperation.
"Don't give in, Charizard! Use your full power for a fiery Seismic Toss!"
With a mighty roar, Charizard performed the powerful Seismic Toss once more, bringing back a move it hadn't used since battling Clair's Dragonair in the Johto League. Back then, Charizard had countered Dragonair's Twister by using Fire Spin, following up with the Seismic Toss. Now, that iconic move was back in action.
Articuno tried to escape, but Charizard's combination of Whirlwind, Fire Spin, and Seismic Toss proved overwhelming. It was a triple attack!
As Charizard executed the Seismic Toss, a massive pillar of fire shot down from the sky. Through the smoke and flames, Articuno's pained cries could be heard. Dust and smoke obscured the view, and everyone held their breath in suspense—everyone except Ash, who watched confidently.
When the dust settled, Articuno and Charizard stood face-to-face. Who would fall?
Ash looked on confidently, and as expected, Articuno began to falter. It finally collapsed, unable to continue.
Referee, stunned, announced, "Articuno is unable to battle! Charizard wins! Victory goes to challenger Ash!"
"Yes! Ash won!" Misty and May cheered excitedly.
That was Articuno—a rare, powerful Pokémon—defeated by Charizard in a one-on-one battle.
The audience, watching from the stands, saw a transformed Ash, whose confidence and strength had grown remarkably.
Both Misty and May couldn't help but think how cool he looked.
In Ash's mind, the system notification sounded:
"Ding! Congratulations, Host! Charizard has earned 62,000 experience points for defeating Articuno!"
"Ding! Host currently has three Triple Experience Boost Cards. Would you like to use one?"
Ash had been waiting for this and immediately chose yes!
"Ding! Successful! Congratulations, Host! Charizard has earned 186,000 experience points with the triple boost!"
Charizard leveled up, breaking through from level 68 to 71, achieving a significant power boost from Elite Four level to Champion level.
Thanks to Ash's first sign-in reward, Charizard had already gained five levels previously. Now, with this triple experience boost, Charizard had reached level 71!
Although Charizard had technically reached Champion level, Ash knew that there was still much training ahead to fully match that title.
"Congratulations, Ash," Noland said, presenting Ash with a Golden Symbol Badge. "This is the Knowledge Symbol, proof of your victory at the Battle Factory!"
