The mantis blades continued slashing down, clearly intending to slice him from the shoulder into two parts.

But beyond the Night Wanderer’s expectations, even with a broken sword, the adversary didn’t back off. Instead, he closed in, pressing forward. The blade aiming for his shoulder pierced into his back, while the broken blade in his hand thrust up through the Night Wanderer’s jaw, bursting through to the crown and silencing him for good.
With their fight concluding, the end approached on the other side as well.
Surrounded by four leaders, Paul was certain he’d offended someone. Despite the enhancements on both sides, the opponents’ prosthetics were on par with his men; the sheer tenacity and disregard for life was something even the notorious Vortex Gang lacked in numbers.
