"Does it bother you to be my wife?"
I rolled my eyes. Here he goes again, answering a question with another question.
"That's not an answer."
"I know," He shrugged. "I'm just curious."
I exhaled deeply. I didn't expect that question. It wouldn't be bothersome if I was his wife in the sense of the privilege I would obtain, but I can't marry Mr Lawson.
He maltreated his servants, insulting them because he was the boss.
"Yes, it will bother me to be your wife," I confessed. "You're so cruel and strict. You act like the world revolves around you. Also, you trampled over people's esteem just to glorify yourself," I sighed, I was going to tell him everything without holding back. "You have a bad impression of everyone because you feel you are better than them. All this and many more is why it will bother me to be your wife," I concluded.
His eyes darkened and a vein in his neck twitched. "I'm just exact when it comes to work."
That was his lame excuse?
I balled my hands. "Is that why you called me a whore that day in your office?"
I didn't want to bring up that matter, but I was still angry at him and he hasn't even apologized!
He tightened his lips and fisted his hands.
I snorted. "So, you have bad impressions of me and get angry when I question you about it."
"I'm not angry." He said through gritted teeth.
"Then why are you not answering me?" I yelled
He bit his bottom lip and brushed his hand through his hair. Ignoring me, he brought out his phone.
I nodded, as I realized. "I get it, you are too rich and influential to be questioned."
"Annie, stop talking!" He commanded.
"Why?!" I flared up. He didn't have any right to command me when he was clearly in the wrong. "Is it because I'm telling the truth and you are too damn proud to accept it? You feel like you are so perfect that you have no flaws, eh?! Is that why you treat me like trash?!"
In an instant, he grabbed my face and brought it closer to his. Ducking his head, he pressed his lips roughly against mine. My stomach tightened and my heart beated fast. I struggled to break away, but he cupped my head and pulled my waist to him. I slammed on him and my eyelashes fluttered as he sucked on my bottom lip. I pressed my hands on his chest and slowly gave in to the kiss. I was starting to enjoy it when I realized I was actually kissing Mr Lawson. I jerked back, but the sensation of his lips still lingered on mine.
Mr Lawson adjusted his suit and leaned back on his seat.
"Kissing is the easier way to get a lady to shut up."
I blinked.
I was still in complete shock.
Then, his words settled in my mind.
What?!
My heart was racing and butterflies were flying in my stomach just because he kissed me and he only did that to shut me up?
I bit my lip and reached for my neck. I removed the necklace he gave me and clenched it in my hands. Who was I kidding? I technically gave myself that necklace!
I threw it at his chest.
He sat up and arched his brow at me. "What was that for?"
"I don't want it! You can take your fifty necklace and rot in hell with it!" I looked at the chauffeur. "Stop the car, I want to get down!"
Immediately, the car halted. My heart arched as I got down. I was so stupid to assume he desired me.
