Waking up from hunger is a rare thing for me. I looked at Sean who was sleeping beside me with a peaceful face, I rushed out of bed without causing anything to wake him up. I walk like a limp due to the pain in my groin, making love takes a lot of energy, I regret my recent behavior that rarely exercise.
I opened the wardrobe in this room, I didn’t find a single outfit that I deserved to just walk into the kitchen, who really has the heart to put so much lingerie in this closet??! I rolled my eyes when Rani and Caroline’s faces crossed my mind. Desperately, I closed the cupboard whose contents were indecent, then looked around me which was bathed in the dim light from this bedroom lamp, I managed to find Sean’s white shirt that he wore yesterday at our wedding, I immediately put it on to cover my innocent body. The shirt looks huge on me but it’s better than having to go to the kitchen in that damn lingerie, I’m going to look like a bitch.
I rolled the sleeves of this shirt up to my elbows, after buttoning all the buttons, I walked towards the door with quiet steps. Arriving outside the room, I rushed to the kitchen with a little run, my stomach couldn’t wait to be filled with something filling. The villa’s kitchen looks very hygienic with a monochrome feel, I opened the four door refrigerator carefully, a triumphant smile appeared on my face, like a thief who got what he was about to steal. I took a red apple and bit it with big bites, then opened another refrigerator door, that second I was struck with euphoria when I saw the contents of this refrigerator which was very complete, I found a delicious-looking bolognese sauce, took it out of the refrigerator, I wanted to cook pasta, simple menu and definitely quick to fill my hungry stomach. I haven’t eaten anything since my wedding. I only managed to fit in two chocolate cupcakes which only finished in two bites.
The apple that I ate was finished when my pasta was served with an aroma that was able to make my saliva dripping, took a seat at the bar table in the kitchen, before that I felt I was lacking something, I jumped down from the model chair and it was as high as a bar chair then returned to the bar. To the fridge to get a drink, I had no other choice but orange juice, the fridge contained mostly wine and champagne, I was curious about the taste of that classy drink but I hated getting drunk.
After everything was ready, I started to eat my food. Sean surprised me by showing his shirtless figure in front of me.
“You cheated not to wake me up, even though I’m hungry too,” he snorted, now sitting across from me.
“I didn’t know you were hungry, pasta?” I offered while looking at him, a cheerful smile appeared on his face, Sean also left in front of me, maybe he will take the cutlery for himself, and the pasta I made is enough for both of us.
“Where’s your plate?” I asked confused when he only brought a fork, Sean pointed at my plate then pulled it in the middle so we could eat on the same plate. I blushed when I knew the idea, I looked at Sean who was chewing pasta, I wanted to gauge his reaction to my cooking, for a while, he didn’t say anything and just kept eating, I was saved from the food judges.
“How do you feel?” Sean asked between our meals, I stopped eating and looked at him confused, what is he trying to ask?
“What kind of feeling? After the wedding or after we made love?” I asked innocently, Sean smiled holding back his laughter, it made me even more confused, my Inner Goddess covered her face with an expression and feeling embarrassed.
“Both,” Sean replied, I thought for a moment, it’s hard to describe how I feel right now.
“I’m fine,” I said casually, because I couldn’t find the right answer, then continued eating.
“Unless you’re enjoying your chat with your damn ex-girlfriend.”
Damn double! Why i suddenly can’t control my speech?? My Inner Goddess plopped down on the sofa with an annoyed face, my senses stared in agreement because I brought up this topic, she wanted me to discuss it again.
“Watch your words, Ariana.” Sean said in a low threatening voice, it made me want to challenge him even more, how dare he defend another woman in front of me.
“What’s wrong with what I said? I was just trying to be honest and open at the start of our relationship,” I roared, then sipped my orange juice, our pasta finished and we stared at each other.
“What do you want as the first step in our relationship, Ariana?” Sean tried to be patient and restrain his emotions.
“I want someone from the past not to mess up our relationship,” I said, defying his gaze.
“Ariana, she’s not a troublemaker, she-“
“She’s just a troublemaker,” I cut in quickly.
I will not back down this time, I must keep the woman away from our domestic life. Sean looked at me with a gaze as hard as steel, my guts shrunk a little but I didn’t want to back down an inch.
“She’s my current business partner,” he hissed with all the tension I could see, I chuckled as I rolled my eyes. This is worse than just an ex-girlfriend, I jumped off my bar stool, then took our empty plates, carried them to the sink. Wash it quickly and put it on the dish rack hanging near the sink.
“She’s the only person I think I’d be a good business partner and friend with.”
I looked at Sean while leaning against the sink. What reason is that? I can’t take it.
Don’t back down now, Ariana!
“Are you jealous?” Sean asked and I laughed like an idiot, where’s his brains as a top CEO? Am I now like someone who just won the lottery? I walked over to the chair where I was sitting while eating.
“Does this debate look like we’re discussing a comedy film?” I asked with a very visible sarcastic tone, Sean looked at me with his cold gaze.
“Try to accept this situation.”
I’m going crazy just talking about this. Freshen my hair in frustration then inhaled hard and then exhaled in the same way.
“I’m trying to accept a situation where you are free to decide anything for me, you tell me to give up my career, I obey you, you tell me not to care about my fans, I obey you and when I ask you to stay away from your ex-girlfriend, you tell me to accept her existence between us?“
Never in my life have I felt so angry about something like this, another first in my life. Silence stretched between us.
“I’ll try to keep Atika from affecting our relationship.” Sean erased the silence between us and this time, I didn’t get a satisfactory result, so I chose silence.
“It’s up to you, but if trouble between us comes because of her-“ I stopped to calm my turbulent mind.
“I’ll give up,” I finally said, then left Sean alone in the kitchen and headed for our room.
