"Or are you saying a woman should lead an army and all the men should hide behind her like cowards?" Hearing what Urovarna said, Marquis Raeven replied—The Last pillar of the Noble Faction. He had a slicked-back blonde hair and narrow blue eyes.
His face was pale and unhealthy-looking, with little sign that it had seen much sunlight. He was tall and skinny. Combined with his sallow complexion, he gave off the impression of a snake. He was not yet forty but looked older because of his unhealthy pallor.
"Lord Urovarna, how can you say with conviction that Demi-humans are going to attack on that day? From your tone, it is clear that you are confident in the news." Marquis Raeven said as he looked at Urovarna.
Urovarna didn't say anything instead he took a parchment paper from his sleeve and passed it to the King.
Inside the parchment sheet was the information about the Demi-human moment. It even has the official seal of the Greed Empire. If both countries were in a diplomatic state then this letter is enough proof to wage war against each other. After the contents were read out, the room exploded into a hubbub of discussion. These contents were insane, and so was anyone who agreed to them.
"Just in case, I have also had the scholars examine the credibility of parchment, and they said it was indeed legitimate and they plan to capture the envoys. Their plan is to just raid the whole country."
"In other words, this isn't even a proper plan, it's a madman's ravings!"
The boisterous cry rang throughout the hall.
Marquis Bowlorobe's formidable presence - a testament to his former glory as a warrior seemed to give the other nobles courage, and they returned his shout with their own approval.
"Although it's been delayed, isn't this just the same old Imperial invasion they announce every year? They always find some stupid reason to declare war, so this time round, they must really be scraping the bottom of the barrel to throw up this kind of reason. And to think even Demon God agreed to this foolish move."
Count Ritton's words were followed by the derisive laughter of the massed nobles.
"However..." Barbro immediately stood up from his chair.
"I am not a coward, So I don't need my sister to go to the battlefield and I will take things into my own hands and protect the envoy from the Demi-humans. Please let me join the battlefield, Father."
After the intense meeting at the the Throne Room the Golden Princess—Renner Theiere Chardelon Ryle Vaiself—was returning to her room.
As one would expect of her high-born bloodline, she was surrounded by a sacrosanct aura, like a goddess descending upon the earth. She seemed to glow with compassion, and her mind produced many wise plans and policies.
She was a noble among nobles, a princess among princesses. She was the perfect woman.
Her golden brilliance like an immaculate gemstone—could not be marred in any way.
If one were to use a ring for comparison, Renner would be like a huge, brilliant-cut diamond. As for rest, they would be the setting that held the stone in place. Any shortcomings in the setting diminished the value of the ring.
At her side was a maid which her father—Ramposa III—gave her when she became an adult.
As they reached Renner's room, the maid accompanying Renner spoke.
"I will be leaving, Renner-sama. You should also take a rest after the intense meeting." The maid said with a small bow.
"I am fine. Thank you for your worry." Renner just smiled sweetly to which the maid also responded with a smile.
"Then see you tomorrow, My Lady."
After the maid left, the bright sunny smile slowly disappeared from Renner's innocent face like a mirage and an emotionless face took place.
—I should just kill all of them, who are trying to make me their puppet. But it will put in the suspect of supposed Gods. God, huh? How long will I be able to hide from them? Renner thought as she opened the door and entered.
"{Continual Light}" She spoke but what she met was darkness—not like the one which scared people instead like the night sky.
And in the moonlight reflection, Renner saw two figures—one man and one woman.
Looking at the two unknown figures who mysteriously appeared in her room, Renner didn't scream or call for help instead she observed them.
The man was sitting in the chair while drinking some sort of tea or coffee. Even in the darkness, Renner could tell that he was a handsome man with a neat black suit and an aura of aristocracy.
While Renner has seen a fair share of men in her life—including the hailed God of beauty—even among them the man in front of her was exceptionally beautiful.
At his side was an elegant, snow-white skinned, black pony-tailed beauty. She wears a white bonnet on her head, and the weird thing about her is the black armour decorated in gold and silver in the likeness of a maid uniform.
"You are late, Princess Renner Theiere Chardelon Ryle Vaiself. I have been waiting for you." The man spoke as the maid looked at her.
"Who are you? What are you doing in my room?" Renner asked calmly without showing her inner nervousness.
"Before introducing ourselves, how about you take a seat and have some warm tea." The man offered as the maid pulled the seat.
Even though Renner knows that it is dangerous, she intends to follow what the man in front of her tells. If the situation becomes dare she always has the choice to scream.
As if reading her exact thought the man said:
"Don't worry, I am not going to harm you in any way." Then he turned to the maid. "Narberal, give Renner a warm cup of tea."
The maid—now identified as Narberal—replied with respect.
"Right away, My Lord." And poured the warm tea into a fancy tea cup and placed it in front for her to drink.
Renner just looked at the tea but didn't touch it.
"So, how about you introduce yourself? And your purpose here." Hearing Renner, the man placed his teacup on the table with a fluid movement.
"My name is Ancient One and I am here to make a deal with you."
