Chapter 44 Be hated, bullied by boss and colleagues
The next morning, Elly woke up, she could not see John in the room. She looked at the breakfast on the bedside along with a note in a neat handwriting.
"I have to go out for work. Keep resting in the hotel, don't think too much. Love you!"
She knew that his mood was on the brink, she was very worried when he went out alone, but she also felt lucky, now she can stealthily go to work and he would not know.
She arrived at the company just in time. Before she raised her hands to greet her colleagues, she immediately received eyes full of hate and hateful words.
"Oh, guess who came? The little deputy secretary who ran away from work for the past few days? I heard she resigned."

The words were all deliberately said aloud for her to hear. The friendly smile on her face stiffened. She bit her lip and wanted to quietly return to her seat when they heard a door openned.
"Did the company paid you to talk and spread gossips?"
Alex appeared in a cleverly tailored suit, his sharp, handsome face coldly looked around the room.
"If you let me hear any gossip about your colleagues in the company, you are going to get out of this company immediately!"
No one dared to raise their head to look at Alex, even Elly was startled by his outburst.
She slowly moved back to her desk and pretended that she was just air but she was still glared at by Alex.
"Elly, do you know what time it is now? How many times are you going to be late for work?"
"Sir, I'm on time!" Elly thought about salary deduction and she became scared to protest, but she works for money, it cannot be deducted unjustly.
"It's working time, yet you still wander around here. Can't you see that your colleagues are all rushing to complete their work? You are the kind of employee where the boss say a sentence and you argue with ten sentences. "
Elly pouted and walked to her table. All warmth from his previous message suddenly disappeared because of this overbearing and absurd reprimand.
As she sat on the chair, a stack of documents was thrown in front of her. Alex stood in front of her with his arms crossed, his head held high, his eyes coldly glanced down at her.
"This is all the work left when you suddenly left your job. Complete it today. Hurry up, don't let people slow down for you."
Elly gasped in surprise, she didn't think Alex was this cruel. On her first day at work, he already arranged a series of tasks for her, it was clear that he was trying to bully her.
If John went back to the hotel, and didn't see her, he would be worried. She wanted to call and notify John but the other side of her did not dare to call. She did not know how to explain about her return at work.
Alex realized that Elly's face was worried, he narrowed his eyes maliciously.
"Your boss is talking to you and you are not answering." He pressed hard against her head, his voice fierce, his eyes glanced around, reassured that everyone was busy, no one else could see his actions.
She held her head, and said to him with her eyes full of tears from pain, "Yes, Sir, I see."
While she worked and silently cursed the boss who exploited his staff, Alex left the room with a beating heart. Her eyes are so beautiful, it brings him indescribable joy and happiness. The corner of his mouth twisted into a smile. Great, she's back.
When it was dark, other colleagues were off early yet Elly's desk light was still on.
She was so engrossed in her work that she forgot time, she did not notice that her cell phone ran out of battery and automatically turned off.
For several days, her mood was always tense and that made her feel tired. She could not resist and she fell asleep, her head drooped on the table.
When Alex went outside his office, he saw her and discovered that she was sleeping peacefully. He walked over and stared at her face.
After he got married to Maddy, he never even looked at her like this, not even watched her sleep.
But now, with two faces that only have a few similarities, Emily can make his heart beat faster.
As if mesmerized, he bent down, kissed her face lightly, then stood upright in panic.
His leg hit the next seat causing it to fall on the floor but she still wasn't awakened. He knew she was really exhausted. It is possible that John's situation and his mother's attitude were the cause.
With a feeling of jelousness, he bent down and carried her into his private room. He simply wished for her to have a good sleep.
When Elly woke up in the next morning, she caught the portrait of Alex staring at her.
She jumped out of bed in panic, and threw everything in her reach towards the photo, "Cruel abuser!"
The door opened in time, Alex heard her whole words. He watched the portrait swayed on the wall and saw that the pillows were at the foot of the wall. She blushed in embarrassment.
"See enough?"
"Just enough to realize that this is your private room." She asked sheepishly, lowering her head, "Why am I in your room? This is a weird and scary memory."
"Scary?" He walked step by step closer to her.
She also stepped back, "I clearly worked hard to complete the work you assigned, if I fell asleep because I am too tired, I can lie on the desk and sleep, right?"
Alex pressed her against the wall, held her with one hand.
"Maybe, you sleepwalked in here?"
"You really can joke." Her eyes stared at the tie on his neck. The fragrance of perfume on him is very alluring.
"Did you sleep well last night?" He lifted her chin and looked into her panicked doe-like eyes.
"Well." She replied vaguely.
A low husky laughter escaped from his mouth, his voice sounded as if it was suppressed. "Surely, you are now ready to start your new workday after a good night's sleep. You have exactly a minute to go before you will be late for work again. "
His reminder overweighed his teasing gesture, she lifted his hand and ran out of the room with her red face. She left his room but she heard a cheerful laugh before the door closed behind her.
As soon as she left the room, she knew that she went for his bait. Colleagues had just arrived, all saw her walked out from the director's private room.
With a shy smile, she embarrassedly covered her face and returned to her seat. She felt the eyes of her female workmates wanted to devour her.
At lunch break, she was surrounded by her colleagues with murderous intent in their face.
"Be honest or die. What is the relationship between you and the Boss? Did you slept in his private room last night? "
"I only came to report because he's not in the office."
"Liar! You're still wearing your clothes from yesterday, your hair, untidy. You definitely spent your night in his room. "
"You knew that he was already married yet you were trying to trick..."
As soon as she didn't knew how to explain her side, Leon's stern rebuke saved her. "What are you doing! Don't you have to work? "
Thank goodness for the sharp eyes of the old Leon, she silently thanked him, feeling his gaze that knew everything.
Returning to her seat, she had time to pick up her phone. She discovered that the phone was out of battery and she forgot to inform John about her work. Now that she had disappeared all night, it would definitely make him nervous.
As she charged the phone, she saw twenty missed calls and more than a hundred messages from John. She quickly called back, the phone was quickly picked up also.
"Elly, where are you now? What happened? Are you okay?"
Tired voice mixed with worry was heard through the phone, she can feel it. She said anxiously. "John, I'm fine. I had to work overtime yesterday, so I fell asleep at the company. "
"Company? Did you find a job?"
"John, I'm sorry, I haven't told you about going back to Alex's company"
"Alex? Are you back at his company?" His questioning scream pierced her ears, his voice irritated. "Your resignation is a lie?"
