Otherworld Advance Team Chapter 111

Luo’er glanced around, then picked up a bundle of dynamite from the nearest spot and placed it next to the device. Tangmo, standing beside him, asked to regret, "Are we going to blow it up?" "Yeah, this thing will destroy the peace between both worlds." Luo’er nodded and said. "What do we do now?" Cheng Ziang came in front of them. The wooden door had already been tightly blocked, and although bullets were penetrating in from time to time, they could hardly open the door no matter what. "Ziang, lead the way, Moumou follow closely, I’ll cover the rear!" Luo’er said bluntly. "Alright!" Cheng Ziang nodded his head. Just as they were preparing to move, they suddenly heard a girl’s scream, and a figure fell along the wall, crashed onto a pile of files. The three of them tensed up instantly, Luo’er pulled out his pistol and aimed it at the figure. But when he saw the true face of the figure, he couldn’t help but feel shocked. Feliz rubbed herself, got up from the ground and hearing Luo’er’s voice, she also looked at him with a face full of astonishment and said, "Luo’er, Audrey?" "How did you get in?" Luo’er looked at the door incredulously and asked. "The window!" Feliz pointed to the narrow window three meters high. "Should we kill her?" Cheng Ziang, holding the blade in a reverse grip, asked coldly. "No," Luo’er hesitated a bit and then his heart softened, "You two go ahead, I’ll handle her!" "Luo’er!" Tangmo just wanted to stop him but was pulled away by Cheng Ziang. She turned back to look at the stern-faced Cheng Ziang and reluctantly followed him into the tunnel. "So you lied to me?" Feliz asked Luo’er, who had removed his face mask to reveal his true face. "Yes!" Luo’er answered. "For the mission!" Luo’er answered. "Who exactly are you?" "It’s better if you don’t know, so as to avoid unnecessary trouble." "Are you going to kill me?" Feliz asked, looking at the pistol in Luo’er’s hand, without any fear. "I don’t want to kill you, but I hope you can forget everything you saw today, forget our names." Luo’er answered. "Why are you letting me go." Feliz asked. "You are not a bad person. Your actions today have proven my speculation. I don’t want to kill you. Please forget everything that happened today!" Luo’er’s tone seemed a bit weak. "So are you asking me for a favor? Are you a good person or a bad person?" Feliz continued to ask. "You can consider us as the bad guys. But we just remain loyal to our organization." Luo’er answered. "Was today’s incident also caused by you guys?" Feliz asked. "No, we just got involved in this incident. You should leave quickly. The magical power will be restored soon, then you guys can counterattack." Luo’er, lowering his pistol, explained. "How do you know?" Feliz asked with some confusion. "This device inhibits the flow of magic. As long as it’s destroyed, the magic will flow normally again!" Luo’er said, looking at the magic suppression device on the table. Feliz looked suspiciously at the suppression device on the table and then Luo’er, asking, "Why are you helping us?" "No particular reason," Luo’er said nonchalantly, "I just can’t tolerate these people getting their way." After a hesitation, Feliz finally said, "I promise to keep your secret, but you must tell me the truth!" "I hope you can keep your word." Luo’er said. "I swear to the God of Light, I, Feliz, the most loyal believer of the Light God, promise to keep your secret. If I break my oath, I’ll sink into darkness and suffer torment!" Feliz raised her left hand and made her most solemn vow as a believer. "Thank you!" Luo’er thanked. "I have made my vow, your turn now!" Feliz looked at him and asked, "Who exactly are you guys?" After a long hesitation, Luo’er slowly said, "All I can say is that we are not from this world." "So are you people from the Otherworld?" Feliz stared at him and asked. Luo’er did not speak, but his attitude was quite apparent, so he implicitly admitted Feliz’s guess. "What were you guys doing in the Magic Academy?" Feliz asked the second question. "I can’t divulge that, it’s a secret of our organization. If we leak it, it would mean we’ve failed in our duty," Luo’er denied her question. "So are you our enemies or our friends?" Feliz asked. "I don’t know, we’re just serving our headquarters. Feliz, I don’t want to hurt you. You should leave now, forget everything that happened here today," Luo’er pleaded. "I, I can’t make it up..." Feliz looked at the high window, speaking somewhat hesitantly. "I’ll help you." Luo’er approached her without precaution and helped her towards the window. Feliz glanced down at Luo’er, his hands Discover more novels on NovelHub - your gateway to endless stories. She was reminded of what happened that day, and couldn’t help but tremble. She then asked, "Will we see each other again?" Luo’er looked at her, remained silent for a moment, then responded in Chinese, "See you in the future!" "What does that mean?" Before she could finish her question, Luo’er heaved her up towards the window. Feliz sat astride the window, bending over to watch him. Luo’er asked, "Can you make it down?" "Go now, there’s going to be an explosion here soon. Be careful on your way down, don’t let them catch you," Luo’er advised. "You haven’t answered me yet," Feliz looked into his eyes, then continued, "Will we see each other again?" "Yes!" Luo’er replied, "But I don’t know whether we will be enemies or friends the next time we meet." "If that’s the case, will you hurt me?" Feliz inquired further. "I suppose, I won’t..." Luo’er hesitated. "I won’t hurt you either!" Feliz asserted. "Thank you." Luo’er nodded. "What does that Chinese phrase you said mean?" Feliz asked, referring to Luo’er’s Chinese expression. "It means, see you in the future!" Luo’er continued to explain in Chinese. "See you in the future!" Feliz clumsily repeated his phrase. After a moment of silence, she finally turned and jumped off the windowsill. Luo’er didn’t know how she had climbed up here, but he trusted she could climb back down. He glanced at the bomb next to him, then shouted at the window, "Thirty seconds, leave now!" Having finished, he approached the corpses, searching their bodies. He quickly found a metal kerosene lighter on the commander’s body. Luo’er guessed it belonged to the short one, who’d gone to argue in heaven with the tall one. He opened the lighter and lit the explosive set around the room. The fuse burnt slowly, and Luo’er estimated that the explosion would happen in roughly thirty seconds. He checked the bookshelf that was thoroughly blocking the doorway one last time, before grabbing a bundle of explosives and started climbing down the staircase through the hole in the ground. Quickly he reached the bottom of the tunnel, but neither Tangmo nor Cheng Ziang were waiting there. He lit the bomb he was carrying and left it at the staircase, intending to blow it up and cut off the gunmen’s retreat. Lighting the fuse once more, Luo’er started to move forward in the narrow tunnel. He finally caught up to Tangmo and Cheng Ziang at the storage site. Cheng Ziang was checking the equipment in the wooden boxes while taking off his own gear. "Let’s go, it’s going to blow!" As soon as Luo’er arrived, he urgently warned. "Got it." Cheng Ziang efficiently took off his bulky pants, then sheathed his knife on his back, taking the lead. Luo’er came before Tangmo. Her face was pale, and Luo’er knew what she was thinking, but he didn’t have time to explain now. So, he took her hand and led her to follow Cheng Ziang. After running another two hundred meters, Cheng Ziang spotted a tubular tunnel leading directly to the surface. He went up to check and found that it was a well leading to the surface, lined with moss-covered bluestones. The tunnel connected perfectly to the middle of the well, and underneath was the illuminated well water. Metal stairs were embedded in the well walls. Although they were somewhat rusty, Cheng Ziang noticed that the upper parts were polished bright, indicating these stairs had been used recently. Luo’er came to the well side, turned to look back at the tunnel behind him, and began to count down in a low voice, "Five, four, three, two, one..." The explosion was slightly off from his estimation. While a booming sound went off in the distance, the sensitive Tangmo could clearly feel the flow of magical power and her body quivered slightly. "What’s the matter?" Luo’er asked with concern. "Magical power is flowing!" Tangmo replied. "The device really is a magic suppressor," Luo’er said with a furrowed brow, wondering where this kind of high-end technology came from. "Enough talking, let’s go!" Cheng Ziang, having already climbed the stairs, urged the two. "Hmm!" Luo’er nodded and followed Cheng Ziang up the stairs. The well was located in a desolate, abandoned village at the foot of a hill. A few hundred meters away was the Sacred Heart Magic Academy. It was unknown why this area was so desolate, but currently, the desolation was a blessing. There was no one guarding the well mouth and it was unclear how the gunmen had modeled their escape route. Once Tangmo had climbed out, Luo’er removed his tactical vest and rifle, throwing them into the well and kept only an M1911 as self-defense. Gunfire started to ring out from the Magical Academy in the distance. Luo’er and crew could feel the severe magical fluctuations there, it was evident that high-level mages were really using magic. He remembered that a mage army was stationed outside the academy, and given the current fluctuations, the gunmen who had taken over the academy were probably going to be in big trouble. However, all this had nothing to do with them anymore. Using the opportunity of the gunmen holding the academy hostage, they had successfully escaped the academy. Now, the most important thing was to rendezvous with the sniper team. Once it was confirmed that they had gathered all the information here, they would relocate and start the second phase of intelligence gathering in Masya, to confirm whether Odelanqi’s mage troops had been dispatched to Masya.
