The two landed around noon, they checked in their hotel first thing after they landed and treated themselves to a nice meal. And now they were heading to He Bai’s parents gravestone……
“What’s the matter?” He Bai turned to look at Di Qiuhe who walked slower and slower.
Di Qiuhe jerked his chin at his collar, sulking.
He Bai noticed there was a drop of oil stain on Di Qiuhe’s collar, the new suit that Di Qiuhe changed specially for this visit after they checked in the hotel. However, the stain was not that obvious.
“Don’t worry, my parents wouldn’t care.”
Di Qiuhe looked at him with a serious expression, “But I do, that’s lack of manners and respect if I show up like this in front of your parents for the first time together with you.”
“Hmm, my parents probably won’t approve you either way…” He Bai teased. Seeing Di Qiuhe frowned at him, he cracked a fawning smile and leaned closer to Di Qiuhe while nobody was walking past, gave him a squeeze on the hand, “All right, how about we going back to the hotel and get you changed?” Di Qiuhe knew it so well that the reason why He Bai was so self-conscious of that oil stain was all because he cared for him, and he felt happy about that, he was more than willing to coax his Childish Di for taking this matter seriously.
Di Qiuhe stared at He Bai, his eyes became moist.
“Don’t you dare kiss me on the street, Childish Di, I know what that look in your eyes means, I’m telling you, if you kiss me now, I’ll leave you alone on the street.”
Di Qiuhe collected himself and acted like nothing had happened, “Yeah, let’s go back to the hotel then, I’d like to get changed.”
He Bai nodded and gave him a meaningful look, then he noticed there was a florist’s shop just around the corner, and he thought about something…
He pressed Di Qiuhe’s shoulder and said, “Just a moment, the car Assistant Wang booked us is about to arrive, do you mind waiting for the car here, and this is the car plate number and the driver’s contact, I’ll make a quick trip to the florist’s, my mom loves flowers, and let’s meet at the florist’s. Also, remember to cover your face in case people recognize you.”
Di Qiuhe listened carefully and nodded, he took over the note with the car plate number and the driver’s contact, said to He Bai, “Consider it done, and mind you don’t wander around, I’ll come pick you up soon.”
He Bai nodded with a big smile, then he walked to the florist’s shop.
A quarter later, Di Qiuhe came back, seeing He Bai standing on the street holding two bouquets waiting for him, he opened the side door, “Have you been waiting for long, I’m sorry Bai, the driver was a bit late, so now shall we go back to the hotel?”
He Bai shook his head and he stopped Di Qiuhe who was about to start the car, and he produced a brooch with an animated design from his pocket and put it on the stain on Di Qiuhe’s collar, with it he admired it in appreciation, “There you go, how perfect it is, now we don’t need to go back to the hotel, I still think you look the best in this suit, this is just fine.”
That was a hand-made designer’s suit, and He Bai put on a piece of animated plastic brooch on it, hmm, a bit clashed. However……
Seeing He Bai also wearing a same brooch, Di Qiuhe nodded and accepted this. And he replied, “Yeah, sounds good to me. Let’s go to the cemetery now then. You look the best in your suit too by the way.”

He Bai raised his eyebrows, what suit? Then he realized they were wearing matching suits, same design same collection with slightly different shades of color, Childish Di, no wonder he volunteered to be He Bai’s personal stylist and took over the layout of their closet room.
The weather was not exactly ideal this day, it was a bit cloudy, but there was no sign for rain so far.
Di Qiuhe looked up at the sky when they parked, seeing the thick clouds on the sky, he took a deep breath and kept saying this to himself, “Just ignore the gloomy weather, for sure everything will go well today, for sure.”
He Bai became awfully quiet after they got off the car, he adjust his facial expression when they were about to arrive at his parents’ gravestone, then he walked to it with a big smile, he waved at the gravestone, “Hi mom, hi dad, it’s me again.”
Of course the gravestone would not wave back or anything, but sensitive Di Qiuhe noticed the wind became slower.
The two put down the flowers for them, He Bai took out the joss paper (paper made to resemble money and burned as an offering to the dead) and incense he bought just now, he began to jibber jabber about his life for the past six month while he burned the incense and joss paper, the progress on his study and job, then he went silent for a few seconds, then he said in a cheerful tone, “I bought a house, mom and dad, I have my own darkroom and home cinema now, isn’t that cool?”
He Bai who was squatting next to him burning the joss paper looked at him.
“And also, look at who I brought for our family.”
Di Qiuhe’s body went stiffened yet he was so focused on what He Bai was about to say.
He Bai burned the last piece of joss paper and pressed Di Qiuhe’s shoulder, smiled at the photos on the graveyard, “Look, right here, this one! Isn’t he handsome! I brought you such a handsome son-in-law, not to brag or anything, I would say I’ve done such a good job.”
All of a sudden the wind became stronger, blowing the ash of the joss paper on Di Qiuhe’s face.
Di Qiuhe: ……
