Seeing as his friend was willing to go such an extent for this thing, He Bai felt compelled to take on this job. He gave it a few thoughts and nodded, “Ok, I will do it for free. But whether you father like it or not, I will not take your money. You introducing me this house is enough payment for me.” It was no secret that reserved house was hard to come by.
Plus, there shall be no talk of money among friends.
Niu junjie stared at his friend and was about to retort. But then he thought of how He Bai was like and swallowed his words. He simply let a few dry laugh and patted on his shoulder, “Alright. You come with me this weekend and I will show you around the company.”
He Bai nodded and took out his phone to call Li Ru to inform her that he would not be available for work this week.
As soon as they finished talking, Di Qiuhe called. Seeing that, Niu Junjie knowingly left and he went out to make a call.
He Bai smiled at his back and answered the phone.
“I just got off the phone with Di Bian. He would not cause trouble for you anymore,” Di Qiuhe explained and asked, “Did Xing Shaofeng send you the photos and files? Has this thing affected your work?”
“Yes he did, and no. I am not affected,” answered He Bai. He swept a look at the community layout on the computer screen and puckered up his lips, “What’s the color of your bedroom curtain?”
Di Qiuhe was struck dumb by this question, and then his eyes suddenly brightened up and exclaimed, “Little Puppy! Are you willing to share a room with me?”
“No” He Bai answered without any hesitation.
Hearing that, Di Qiuhe felt disappointed and then he replied with a sullen voice, “Uncle Hu put up that curtain and I have never noticed its color… How about you live next to me? I will get Uncle Hu to pick some furniture for you.” As he said this, his eyes were glowing with expectation.
“That’s OK, but I won’t be needing different furniture. So long as the place is clean, I have no other requests.” He Bai moved his mouse to skim over the layout and added, “Qiuhe, do you have any plan or ideas for your future home?”
“Future home?” hearing that, Di Qiuhe experienced several emotional fluctuations from being slightly shocked to being jubilant and slightly embarrassed and finally to being serious and sincere, “Little Puppy, I will treat you well.” ‘So he is now planning our future?’ thought Di Qiuhe. Home was a sweet word to him.
It had taken him so long to finally get this word out of him.
“I know. Daddy will be good to you, too.” He Bai rolled his eyes and rubbed his face which had become sore after all this time smiling while talking to Di Qiuhe. He continued, “Just answer this questions. Recently I am been tasked with shooting a commercial for furniture featuring the theme of “Home” and I need more ideas. You will be my… Anyway, you have to answer those questions truthfully.”
‘So it is all about generating ideas for…’ Di Qiuhe’s sorrow didn’t last long as he was quick to spot a interesting line He Bai said and he crooked up his lips and softly asked, “Little Puppy, What did you just say? I will be your what? I didn’t hear you clearly.”
He Bai immediately realized what he was driving at. He raised his brows and slowly replied, “Nothing. You work a lot and are uncooperative. I should just find someone else. Talk to you later.” As he finished those words, he didn’t hang up and phone and instead did a silent countdown.

“Don’t hang up. I still got time left!” Di Qiuhe quickly calmed himself down and thought back on He Bai’s previous question with a stern face, “I have not given much thoughts to home , but now, with you…”
He Bai was confused for a while and asked, “With me? How do you…” Then he paused, as if he realized something. He hung up the phone in anger. ‘This guy just can’t stay decent for as short as three seconds without immediately switching back to the way he has always been.” He Bai wondered why he suddenly became so glib-tongued.
A second call from Di Qiuhe quickly followed, but He Bai simply rejected it and texted him.
He Bai: Use text. I have gone deaf and can’t take any call at this moment!
Di: You are shy.
He Bai: No, I am not!
Di: I miss you.
He Bai sneered and typed: I am about to go blind too.
It took Di Qiuhe a while to realized what He Bai meant.
Di: I don’t want a big home for us. I rather prefer a small one where I get to see you whenever I sit. I also want a soft sofa and a big photo wall. You can take pictures for me to see and I will learn how to cook for you.
He Bai’s expression soften up a bit and unconsciously tap on the screen.
Di: Little Puppy, I will soon be back in City B, and I am taking you home to see my grandfather.
He Bai read those text several times over before holding his head up and covered it with his hands. Then, after a few seconds, he resumed typing with a serious look on his face.
He Bai: Come next Tomb-sweeping Day, I want you to sweep my parent’s tomb.
After this, he put the phone back into his pocket and gave his chest a few pats. He scratched his hair and swore at how Di was being a shameless prick for saying what he had just said, all the while smiling. He clicked open his memo and jotted down all the things Di Qiuhe wanted for their home.
Over at the set, Di Qiuhe stared at the texts, deep in thought.
Wang Boyi delivered him the script and reminded him, “Master Di, Director Jian is waiting to discuss with you on the details of the next scene. We mustn’t be late.”
Getting out of his trance, Di Qiuhe turned off the phone and handed it to Wang. He took over the script and started walking out. He took a few steps forward and suddenly halted, turning back and asked “What would be an appropriate gift If one is paying a visit to his lover’s parents?”
Wang Boyi didn’t know how to answer and just stood there like a goose.
