Seeing the other party was on the phone, He Bai didn’t call again. Instead, he simply sent over a message about the result of the issue and then put down the phone and started contemplating what house he should buy. This experience taught him that having a place of his own was very important, period. With a house, he could store all the important things in it.
The compensation Di gave him was very generous indeed, and together with his savings, he could afford to buy more expensive house. “You like this community?” Niu Junjie leaned in and after he glimpsed over the surroundings of that community, he remarked, “You’ve got good eyes. This community is not far from the school and downtown and it is fairly new and outfitted with complete amenities. If you buy house here, you won’t have to suffer that torturing sounds of neighbors doing their decorations. Plus, the property management is also superb. At this price, it is a steal.”
Niu’s speech further convinced He Bai. He turned around in amazement and teased, “How come you know so much about this community? What are you? The developer of this place?”
He Bai only meant it as a joke, and yet, to his surprise, Niu Junjie nodded his head and replied with a proud expression on his face, “Yeah, one of my uncles developed this place, and he is a solid, upright businessman and his projects are absolute gold in the market. He once gave me a condo as a birthday present, but I never checked that place and my mom has been keeping the key for me.”
Hearing that, He Bai twitched his brows and observed Niu’s sincere face in silence. Then he wrapped his arm around his shoulder and said, “Your uncle developed this place? I was thinking, maybe you know there is any reserved house?” When it came to buying something as expensive as a house, He Bai would use whatever connection he could find to get himself a bargain.
“Which community? Oh, yes, indeed there is. Your uncle reserved some townhouses for family members… No villa? Well… there are two penthouses with attics left. One small and one large. The large one was intended as a gift for your cousin when she marries, but later she got married abroad and so the house has remained vacant ever since. The small one is roughcast and we are about to sell it. We wouldn’t want it to go to waste.”
After getting off the phone with his mother, Niu Junjie turned his head sideways and asked, “Which one do you want?”
He Bai immediately took out his phone and showed Niu the message informing He Bai the balance of his bank account, “What’s the down payments for these two house? I would like to buy whichever I can afford. From this day on, you will be my valued consultant!”
“Di would kill me for this.” Niu swept a look at the balance and thought hard for a while. Originally My father wanted a renowned foreign photographer to shoot a commercial for this watch, but that photographer was not available and now we are short of a photographer. How about you give it a try?”
“Commercial?” He Bai paused, and thought back on his previous life to figure out which watch Niu was talking about. However, of all the classical watch collections that the Niu clan released, he couldn’t think of one that featured only one watch. He Bai hesitated and replied, “If it were others, I would have taken this job in a heartbeat. But I am not so sure about taking on works for your family. “No worries. I believe in you!” Niu interrupted and held his hand in excitement, “This series will not be released all at once. We will only sell ten of them every year and they can only be bought via order. Plus, the commercial would not be run on TV or anything public. It will only be featured on the product brochure for our VIP clients and other brochures for the auction agencies as those watches will be sell on the auctions as well and the profits will be used for philanthropy. All in all, this product is only mean to be my father’s gift to my mom and it will also be a high-end gift for our VIP client. You don’t have to fret about it.”
