Sonya and Charles headed to Charles's restaurant, they ordered some food and starts to eat. Sonya noticed Charles was not really eating his food.
"so what is the relationship between you and Evelyn? Charles asked casually.
“i think i should be the one asking that and not the other way round” Sonya throw the question back at him.
"what are you talking about" he said and smile nervously. "first of all, you guy look like you know each other and also how do you know her name? i didn't tell you that" she replied. Charles thought of what to say.
"she is also a student in the same department so is possible to know her, i better go and check with the chef, i think there is something wrong with the food" he said and walk away. Sonya laughed and discard the issue since he's not willing to tell her the truth and continue to eat. Charles came back and they finish their food silence. then Charles offered to walk her to the bus station.
"you must have come from a rich family, seeing that you open a restaurant on your own Sonya commented. "i don't, am an orphan he answered.
"really! sorry i didn’t know about that" they walk together for a while then she wave him goodbye she board a cab and left, Charles also turned and walk back to the restaurant he has built with everything he has to impress just one person.
the cab stopped at Hart group of company, she alighted and went inside the building she went to the receptionist
"Good evening please am here to apply for internship" she said with a smile
"that ended few days ago ma'am you cant apply until next time"
"really? but Mr Hart ask me to come here" she said before she realize that she has said it wrongly.
“Without any evidence she shouldn’t have mention the name of their CEO like that” the receptionist stare at her doubting her words
"excuse me ma'am" she said and she pick up the cell phone and make a call, in few seconds, Ariana walk towards them and ask what is going on
"she said she has an appointment from Mr Hart" the receptionist replied. Ariana turned to her and look at her assessing her from head to toe
"what a joke ask the security men to send her off"
"wait who are to you to ask them to throw me out and i told you Mr Hart ask me to come so why cant you let me in?"she asked irritated by the lady's presence
"because Mr Hart doesn’t give appointment to the likes of you" she said rudely and walk away Sonya stare at her back as she walk away her words repeating her word on her head "the likes of her? what the hell"
"Ma'am would you like to leave..." Sonya knew there was nothing she could do and start walking away on her own not wanting to embarrassed herself. She hit herself and blame herself for coming here.
“she actually listened to what handsome man said yesterday and decided to come to his company” she felt like a fool.
She raised up her head and saw people lining up at the entrance. she stood where she was since she could not just pass through them without being noticed. just then Maxwell entered with some subordinates. "oh my he looks even more handsome in suit"she saw herself drowning over him. Then she realize why she has a great urge to come here, it was because of the longing to see him again. She moved farther away from where he could see her and bow her head just like the others. Maxwell saw her at a corner he stopped where she was and just as he was about to say something to her Micheal came to whisper something to him.
"where is she?" he asked.
"she's waiting for you in your office" he replied him, he turn back at Sonya
"follow me" he said to her and walk away Sonya was confused a little but followed him anyways everyone focused their attention on her wondering who she was. They entered the elevator and stop at the uttermost floor. The elevator door open and they all step out and entered into an office Sonya presumed to be his office. Sonya marveled at it structure. every thing is so exquisite. Katherine walk up to him and greeted him she wanted to say more but Maxwell raise his hands to stop her
"am informed about the details no need to tell me" he said and sat down
"this is Sonya a new employee, she will work on this with you and i want a positive feedback tomorrow"
Katherine looked at Sonya and study her
"why would Maxwell have a new employee involve in something important like the company’s financial account" she thought.
"what are you still waiting for?" he said dismissing them. they both walk out of his office, Katherine ask Sonya to follow her to her office Sonya wondered why he ignored her after asking her to follow him to his office and creating all those stares. "what happened?" Maxwell said immediately they left.
"it seems one of the staff misunderstood her and asked her out" his assistant explain to him
"what kind of misunderstanding?"
"she gave them your name there and they thought she was just trying to use your name falsely" Maxwell keep quiet not saying anything more, it was kind of his fault he didn’t inform his office she was coming
"why are you giving her that much attention? you even let her in on the company’s financial account. isn’t that a little bit too much, or is she more than an employee" he said to tease him.
"well you are right she's not just an employee and regarding that, am sure she's capable. She is good at accounting" he said with a smile
"ooh sounds like someone is in love" Micheal joked "but are you no longer interested in the stranger who saved your life years ago? You make a lot of mouth concerning her or you find a new love"
"its the same person" he replied.
"what! this is unbelievable how do you find her?" he asked and sat down to listen to the real gist.
"hello Mr Micheal we are at work shouldn't you be working?" he said not wanting to say more or let him tease him again. "fine I'll leave just make sure to court her properly don’t blow it. You’ve been single for a long time now" he said and leave his office
