"So, let me ask you one last time," he said, his voice cold and deliberate. "None of you are going to quit?" The room was silent. The tension hung thick in the air as everyone remained resolute, their expressions unwavering. No one moved to leave. Ibiki nodded slowly, a faint smile playing on his lips. "Alright," he said, his voice firm. "Everyone who stayed in this room and refused to give up has officially passed the first test of the Chunin Exams." A ripple of shock spread through the classroom. "What?!" came the collective exclamation, voices overlapping in disbelief. Ino shot up from her seat, her face a mix of confusion and frustration. "Wait a minute! What about the tenth question you were going to ask? And what about the nine questions we just spent all that time on? Was the whole thing... pointless?" Ibiki folded his arms and regarded her with calm detachment. "Pointless?" he repeated, a slight edge of amusement in his tone. "By now, you should have already understood the purpose of the first test." He began pacing the front of the room, his authoritative voice commanding their attention. "This was a test of your ability to gather information without being caught. Those nine questions you struggled to answer? They weren't just exam questions—they were a challenge to see if you could collect intelligence under pressure. And judging by the fact that you're all still here and haven't been disqualified, you passed that part of the test admirably." Ibiki paused, letting his words sink in before continuing. "But that wasn't the most important part. The real purpose of this test was to evaluate your conviction." The students exchanged puzzled glances as Ibiki's tone grew heavier. "In the field, missions often become life-threatening. The dangers you face will be immense, and sometimes, the easiest option will be to turn tail and run. But a shinobi without conviction is a liability—someone who might abandon their mission when things get tough, causing greater harm to their team and their village. That's why I gave you the chance to quit." His piercing gaze swept over the room, locking eyes with each student in turn. "That choice was your tenth question. And your refusal to give up, no matter the consequences, is what proved your worth." The classroom fell into stunned silence. Slowly, realization dawned on their faces. This wasn't just an exam—it was a test of character, and they had passed. The room fell into a hushed understanding as Ibiki's words settled in. Each shinobi in the room, in their own way, silently acknowledged the brilliance of his tactics. Conviction, information-gathering, and resilience—these were the qualities they were being tested for, and it made sense now. Naruto let out a deep breath, a wide grin spreading across his face. While most of what Ibiki had said went straight over his head, one thing was clear: he had passed. His blank test paper wouldn't matter now. Relief washed over him like a wave, knowing he wouldn't fail and drag his team down. At the back of the room, Inoiki quietly surveyed the classroom. Using his sensory abilities, he confirmed the final count: 27 teams had qualified—one more than the original plot. That extra team was him. A small smile tugged at his lips as he felt that the plot didn't change much, though it quickly vanished as he sensed something unusual. His gaze shifted to the window just as a glint of metal caught the light. With a sharp whoosh, a kunai flew through the air, shattering the glass. The classroom erupted in startled murmurs as the kunai embedded itself in the ceiling. A split second later, a massive black curtain unfurled, spreading across the room as additional kunai pinned its edges in place. The curtain hung ominously, bearing bold, red lettering: "SECOND TEST." From inside the curtain, a figure emerged—a woman with short, spiky hair and a confident smirk. "Well, that's dramatic," Ibiki muttered under his breath, his face twitching with mild annoyance as he disappeared behind the curtain. "She's here." The woman's voice rang out, sharp and commanding. "Alright, listen up!" she called, silencing the murmurs. "This is no time to celebrate just yet!" She placed her hands on her hips, her smirk widening. "I'm Anko Mitarashi, the proctor for the second test of the Chunin Exams. Get ready—things are about to get a lot tougher." Her fiery demeanor left no doubt: the real challenge was only just beginning. The room fell into stunned silence as everyone tried to process Anko's flamboyant entrance and commanding demeanor. Her confident smirk and larger-than-life energy left the Genin utterly dumbfounded. Sakura glanced between Anko and Naruto, mentally comparing their over-the-top behavior. They're exactly the same, she thought, groaning inwardly. Loud, flashy, and completely unpredictable. From behind the hanging curtain, Ibiki stepped forward, shaking his head slightly. "You're early, Anko," he said in his usual deadpan tone. Anko's face flushed a light shade of pink, the rare embarrassment flickering across her expression. "Well," she huffed, quickly composing herself and crossing her arms. "Better early than late." (A/N: If you like the story please vote power stones.)
