Seeing that the mysterious person only cared about escaping and showed no desire to engage in battle, Mona’s courage grew even stronger. With a determined move, she pulled out a Silver Cross Necklace from the storage space on her chest, muttering words under her breath as her clothing emitted a Holy Light.
Wayne was curious about what kind of magic the other party would use and couldn’t help wanting to stay to see it clearly, but, regrettably, Owl had already gone far away. The Holy See’s forces would arrive at any moment; staying now would make it hard to claim he was acting with righteous indignation.
Wayne turned and left, transforming into the wind with such speed that he left afterimages in his wake.
Mona did not give chase immediately, still uttering incantations, her face full of solemn sanctity.
When the glow faded, her casual clothes had disappeared, replaced by a white robe with gold-trimmed patterns on the cuffs and collar, and a Crucifix array on the back.
The robe was snug around the waist, light and well-fitting, without superfluous design. It maintained a sense of holiness while ensuring the wearer could fight with ease.
But Mona’s figure was too good ; her curves pronounced, her waist slim, her legs long. Clad in this garb, she exuded a certain allure of uniform temptation.
It was confirmed: the Holy See’s leadership circle had a normal XP system, and only a minor part was infected with the boy virus.
Once the change was complete, Mona opened her eyes, her cold silver pupils staring out, the pitch-black subway tunnel gradually became transparent, and the fast-moving shadow grew fainter with distance.
She touched her toes to the ground, and the Crucifix pattern on the back of her robe lit up with a halo. She seemed weightless, covering ten meters in a single step.
In the tunnel, the shadow sped past, the lights and shadows drawing nearer.
Wayne turned and rushed into the sewer, arriving at his most familiar home ground, only to find he couldn’t shake off his pursuer and stopped to prepare for battle.
This time, he had been careless, his plan was somewhat presumptuous, and he had underestimated Mona’s strength.

He waved his hand, stirring up a Tempest, and injected a glint of firelight, raising a roaring flame vortex in the flood channel.
Mona faced the blazing sea of flames with an expression cold and detached like her silver eyes, her white robe radiating Holy Light that shielded her from the high temperature of the flames.
The instant she burst through the wall of fire, a fist grew increasingly larger before her eyes.
She raised her hands to block the punch but couldn’t withstand the pressing force and was sent flying backward like a loosed arrow.
Just then, a blurred afterimage quickly followed, and five red blades ejected from the mysterious figure’s fingers. The five crystal steel claws tore through the crimson light beams with a hiss, ripping the white fabric to shreds.
In the flickering light and shadow, Mona, whose chest was torn apart, vanished into an afterimage.
When she reappeared as if by teleportation, she was behind Wayne, raising a blindingly white Greatsword with both hands, slashing it down towards Wayne’s arm.
Wayne, as if having eyes on his back, anticipated this move and spun around on the tips of his toes, gripping the Blood Crystal Longsword with both hands to meet the incoming strike.

The Blood Crystal Longsword shattered on impact, unable to withstand the Holy Light that countered the evil spirits of Hell. Mona, due to her lack of strength, despite breaking the opponent’s weapon, was still sent reeling by the force and failed to secure the advantage.
Mid-air, her figure disappeared, emerging from beside Wayne, brandishing her longsword.
Unlike the Valkyrie’s teleportation that transformed into particles of light, Mona’s magic was like a reflection in the water, a mirage that bent the light to affect the vision of the opponent, thereby attaining invisibility and stealth for combat tactics.
Many mages of the Heavenly Father’s Court possessed this trick. Kell had once used this to bewilder the disciples of blood.
Simple but extremely effective, highly valuable in actual combat.
Wayne shrugged his nose; light and shadow might deceive the eyes, but they could not fool his nose. To him, Mona was like fighting the air in a battle of wits.
The Blood Crystal Longsword shattered once more, and Wayne overturned Mona, stepping forward to press the advantage, fully utilizing his superior speed and strength. He pounded his fist into her face, pressing her against the tunnel wall, delivering consecutive punches to the chest and abdomen.
The mages of the Heavenly Father’s Court had exceptional stamina, drawing on Holy Light for mental guidance, replenishing mana and health during battle. Unless it was a one-hit kill, they could quickly regain their ability to act.
Mona, as a member of the Holy See’s Tactical Squad and dressed in a special combat suit, extended the ’undying cockroach’ trait to the extreme. Despite Wayne’s aggressive offense, she still managed to muster the mental capacity to perform magic.
Intense light erupted, and a Holy Lance thrust forward, aiming straight for Wayne’s chest.
This familiar move was something Wayne had been on guard for. He used the Blood Crystal Veil to deflect the attack, easily evading the opponent’s special move. He gripped Mona’s shoulders and ruthlessly slammed his head into her face without holding back.
Her glasses shattered, scratching a few marks on her face. Along with the flickering Holy Light, the wounds on Mona’s face healed instantly, leaving bloodstains without scarring.
But that was all. The cramped space of the sewer was not conducive to her advantages, and cornered by Wayne, she was beaten passive, her chest swelling from the blows.
Wayne’s fist pressed against Mona’s face, blood seeping between his fingers as he twisted with a savage laugh.
The triumphant smile couldn’t hide his helplessness. He had won, but it was a difficult endgame; after all, he couldn’t just take her back to his basement and keep her there.
But he couldn’t just leave her either!
Not to mention that no one was around and she had fainted; what if some pervert lurked about? Then the trouble of dealing with the situation would be worse than taking her back to the basement.
