As Wayne’s voice fell, the person on the other end had already hung up the phone. He snorted coldly as he stepped out of the phone booth, his stride as confident as that of a triumphant general.
Wayne spent the entire day catching up on his journal, portraying himself as generous and kind, honest and brave, not greedy for money or lustful, and even added a scene where he kept an appointment despite facing hundreds of Evil Gods.

At five in the afternoon, a high-end black car stopped in front of the gateway at 13 Manor Avenue.
Wayne, dressed sharply, declined the driver’s offer to open the door for him and slid into the back seat himself.
Hefei attended in full dress, wearing her own designed brand evening dress; a black gown that subtly revealed her shoulders, expressing unmatched elegance and nobility.
The dress had a unique neckline design, a deep V but not too deep; it modestly displayed her delicate collarbone and slender neck.
She wore a pair of earrings inlaid with green diamonds, and the pendant on her chest was also a green gemstone; understated, composed, luxurious yet approachable.
In other respects, such as body curves, Wayne, out of respect for his teacher, simply skipped over without looking.

What does that have to do with the dress? You probably want to ask if you look pretty today, right?
Wayne kept his thoughts to himself and, putting on a pleasing face, nodded and praised, "Goddess above, besides the Nature Goddess, teacher is the most beautiful."
Hefei was pleased with the compliment but still pointed out Wayne’s mistake. What did he mean by "besides the Nature Goddess"? The sun and the moon goddesses are also noble and elegant; she could at best be ranked fourth.

The ancestral mansion of the Lando family was situated at the border between the West District and Inner Lundan Central District. Years ago, when Lundan Town wasn’t yet developed, the mansion was in a very secluded area. With the coming of the industrial era and the expansion of Lundan Town, this once remote ancestral land became a luxurious location close to the financial center.
The mansion was nestled behind a wide expanse of woodland, which was followed by an open lawn; being there felt like entering another world, far from the city’s hustle.
The grand residence consisted of a main building and two wings, with the young lady’s private villa a bit further at the back of the garden. From a high vantage point, each structure had its unique architectural style and aesthetic.
The interior of the mansion was beyond words in value. There was nothing much to say about it, and sitting in the car, Wayne couldn’t see the small nature reserve in the back garden. He only knew that the driveway through the woods in front of the main building was very long, the path surrounding the lawn was very long, and the fountain on the lawn was very large.
It was more like a holiday resort than a mansion.
And all that wasn’t even the point. The point was that when entering, Wayne saw the family crest on both sides of the gate.
The tulip symbol was particularly striking, identical to that of the Lando family’s crest from Enrold Town.

With a little analysis and rational thinking, Wayne figured it all out.

As the pieces fell into place, Wayne’s long-troubled question was answered. He looked at Hefei with a face full of reproach, "Teacher, I just saw the Lando family’s crest, isn’t it nice? Just like the one in Enrold Town!"
"Is that so? Didn’t I tell you?" Hefei was greatly surprised.
"It’s the student who didn’t ask."
"Well, you know now. That’s good enough."
Hefei patted Wayne’s shoulder approvingly, teasing him, "Before, sister wanted to introduce my daughter to you, but you kept refusing. Do you regret it now?"
Speechless, Wayne sighed as he realized that he hadn’t been taken care of by both the teacher and the young lady separately, but by the Lando family as a whole all along.
Isn’t that nice, to have a teacher who likes to play with her students.
With this, even Veronica’s sudden cancellation could be explained.
"Teacher, does Veronica know?"
"She didn’t ask either."
"Isn’t that nice, it’s not just me being played."
Wayne complained loudly, turning to look out the window. It was absurd, some time had passed since the car entered the gate, and they still hadn’t arrived.

Did Mister Lando ever consider building a subway in the yard?

The high-end black car stopped, and the servant came forward to open the door.
After getting out of the car, Wayne extended his hand to assist Hefei, a little trick taught by Butler Philark to score points; in the presence of a lady, one must not only maintain one’s own manners but also uphold her grace.
If the lady is graceful, he becomes graceful too.
At the front door, the servants stood in two lines, and Butler Megan approached with a single hand on her chest, bowing slightly.
Wayne wasn’t particularly moved; maybe the journey had been too long, and this scene was completely within his expectations. Unless the queen appeared in a maid’s outfit, sweeping at the front gate, they weren’t going to shock him anymore.
