My Werewolf System Chapter 1440

Chapter 1440: Loyal Fang There was a reason Ghost had stopped dead in his tracks the moment he heard the howl. It wasn’t just any sound. It wasn’t the call of a regular wolf or the cry of some wild beast. No, this was unmistakably the howl of a Werewolf. A deep, resonating sound that pierced through the noise of the city and seemed to shake the very air around him. Only those with the curse, or the blessing, of the Werewolf blood could produce such a cry. But it wasn’t just the sound alone. There was power behind it. A raw, unfiltered energy that surged through the howl, riding the wind and sending an invisible force straight to the ears, and hearts, of every Werewolf within range. Ghost felt it slam into his chest like a wave. It wasn’t just a warning. It was a declaration. And then came the most troubling part. It didn’t come from his pack. Ghost could feel it in his bones, through the way the sound made his muscles tense and his instincts recoil. This wasn’t a howl from the Howlers. It was from someone else. Someone outside their control. “How… how is that possible?” Ghost thought, his mind reeling. “None of the Howlers are supposed to be able to transform right now. And what was Midwak talking about before… another group? Another pack? No, it can’t be. That’s not possible… is it?” Midwak stood nearby, a wide, smug grin plastered across his face, as if he already knew what was coming. “If it was anyone else, I would’ve said it was impossible,” Midwak said, a hint of pride in his voice. “But I had a feeling. I had a feeling they’d figure something out.” Ghost whipped around, scanning the rooftops. And then he saw it. Perched on the edge of a distant apartment building stood a Werewolf. Its silhouette glowed softly under the moonlight, as if the very energy of the moon was coursing through its body and radiating outward. Even from far away, its size was undeniable. It towered above the rooftop it stood on. “It can’t be… is that a, ?” Before Ghost could finish his thought, the massive creature bent its legs and leapt. In a single, gravity-defying bound, the Werewolf crashed down onto the street just a few feet in front of him, landing with a force that sent small tremors through the pavement. Ghost didn’t hesitate. Instinct kicked in. His claws extended as he lunged forward, slashing at the Werewolf with everything he had. But instead of tearing through flesh and fur, his claws skidded off something else, something solid, yet invisible. He felt his attack deflect, as though striking a shield made of light. A faint shimmer danced in the air around the Werewolf’s body, and Ghost staggered back, eyes wide. “What is this…?” he muttered. Standing before him was a monster cloaked in midnight black fur, glowing faintly beneath the moon’s gaze. And as Ghost focused, he could see it, an ethereal armor, translucent and shimmering like moonlit mist. It wasn’t physical metal, but something formed entirely of energy. Thick, wide, and shaped perfectly to the Werewolf’s muscular frame, the ghostly plating clung to its form like a second skin. It pulsed with protective magic, dense, radiant, and impenetrable. And Ghost, an Iron Fang known for his brute force and ferocity, had just learned the terrifying truth: Even his strength wasn’t enough to break through it. In the next breath, the glowing energy surrounding the massive Werewolf began to surge, gathering quickly into its hands. Then, with a sudden and deliberate motion, it brought both palms together in a powerful clap. A brilliant light burst outward from the point of impact, illuminating the entire street in a blinding white flash. The force of it was overwhelming. Those nearby instinctively shielded their eyes, stumbling back as the shockwave passed through the air. It wasn’t just bright, it was piercing, like the very moon had descended from the sky. There was a sharp crackling sound, followed by a low, rumbling echo that vibrated through the ground beneath them. Confusion rippled through the group. No one could see what had happened, only feel the aftershocks. And then, slowly, the blinding light began to fade, returning the world to focus. As their vision cleared, the sight before them left everyone frozen. The towering black Werewolf now stood tall in the center of the street, its foot pressed firmly down on a broken figure beneath it, Ghost. His body was mangled, his chest caved in, bones shattered completely. Blood trickled from his mouth, pooling beneath him, and there was no movement, no breath. ‘An Ironfang member… was killed just like that,’ Midwak thought, his eyes wide in disbelief. Even he hadn’t expected something . The others stood stunned, too. None of them recognized the Werewolf that had struck Ghost down. There was no familiar scent, no familiar presence. It wasn’t one of their own. That much was clear. “Is this… some kind of internal fight between packs?” Xin asked, her voice tense. “Midwak, what’s going on?” Midwak’s eyes remained on the glowing figure. He couldn’t say for certain, but he had a strong feeling. “What we’re looking at right now…” he said slowly, “I’m pretty sure that’s a Luna Wolf. You should know better than anyone, Xin. Doesn’t that energy seem familiar to you?” Xin blinked, her heart skipping. She had never seen her own form when she transformed, there were no mirrors during her training sessions with Gary. But that luminous energy, that radiant aura… she did recognize it. Only this time, it was far stronger than anything she had ever managed. “This…” she said, eyes wide with realization. “This is the Lunar Sentinel Class. This is the true Luna form!” That’s when the Werewolf turned to face them. Its glowing eyes locked on the group, and a deep, soothing voice echoed from its maw. “Looks like I made it in time,” the Werewolf said calmly. And with that voice came a wave of calm that washed over everyone, an instinctual, almost magical serenity. The kind only a Luna could radiate. Xin stared, stunned. The Lunar Sentinel Class was the same transformation she herself used. The glowing armor, the aura, it was all familiar. And if that was the case, then the skill being used had to be Moonforged Body. Grants increased durability, enhanced regeneration, and elevated resistance while under direct moonlight. Strength and damage reduction rise dramatically as the moon approaches its Full Moon phase. Xin had never been able to activate the skill during a true full moon. She had no idea how powerful it could be in its completed form. But now… now she was seeing it with her own eyes. “Wait…” Xin whispered. “Does that mean… is that you, Marie?” For updates for MWS and future works, please follow me on my social media below.
