My Werewolf System Chapter 1437

Chapter 1437: We Can Still Fight An unseen struggle was unfolding, one that even other members of the Howlers weren’t aware of. It was happening just a few streets away from the chaos at the park. In that particular location, several of the Howler pack’s werewolves were gathered. They had been waiting for the sun to rise before undergoing their full transformations, hoping to strike back when their strength was at its peak. However, the influence of the Luna, amplified by Xin’s connection to her premonition, had led a select group to this very street. Their mission: stop a specific member of the Ironfangs before the second wave could arrive. That Ironfang was known as Ghost. Kevin, Park, Midwak, Olivia, and Xin were all present, while Tom was hiding further away from the confrontation. Together, they were trying to hold back Ghost, but it was already proving to be far more difficult than expected. After all, Ghost was no ordinary opponent. He was an Ironfang, a member of a feared, elite force, and his strength as a werewolf was formidable. The two sides stood locked in a tense standoff, each party on opposite ends of the street. “We have to take him down,” Xin said, her voice tight with urgency. “If what he said is true, then at any second now, a second wave will be unleashed, and it’ll wipe out everyone.” Ghost let out a raspy laugh. “And you, who can’t even transform, think you’ll be the one to stop it? Don’t be foolish.” He lifted his arm and flicked his fingers outward, sending sharp nails flying toward the group. Reacting quickly, Olivia stepped forward. With a swift spin of her wrist, she whipped her beast weapon in a wide arc, deflecting the nails midair. Even without being in full werewolf form, she still retained her strength, and the whip was no ordinary weapon. Without pause, she cracked the whip again, wrapping it around a nearby metal bin and launching it at Ghost. Ghost dodged the incoming projectile with ease. The moment he landed, the whip lashed toward him once more, but he twisted and flipped, narrowly avoiding each strike. None of the others had ever seen a werewolf move so gracefully, so effortlessly agile. Still, the whip was drawn back in time as Kevin and Xin rushed forward from either side, launching a coordinated attack. Despite lacking transformations, they didn’t hesitate. They attacked with everything they had. ‘These fools actually think I’m easy to deal with?’ Ghost sneered internally. He grabbed Xin by the arm, but she had anticipated it. With years of experience as an AFA fighter and a body still beyond human limits, Xin spun expertly and launched a strong kick at his head. Ghost leaned his forehead forward and down, tanking the blow with his skull. Her strike did little against his reinforced body, but what he didn’t expect was the sharp jab to his ribs delivered by the small yet scrappy Kevin. The punch hit harder than Ghost had anticipated, causing him to flinch and release the two of them. Recovering quickly, Ghost retaliated by launching himself forward and kicking Kevin straight back toward the others. He then lunged at Xin, but before he could reach her, Olivia’s whip came down once again, striking between them and forcing him to back off. “Tch. That punch actually stung a little,” Ghost muttered to himself, brushing his ribs. They were weaklings, but as a group… they were starting to become a real nuisance. As Kevin tumbled to a stop near the others, Park rushed to his side and placed his hands on him. Kevin felt a sudden wave of relief flow through his injured ribs. “What is this…? Do you have some kind of healing ability or something?” Kevin asked. “No, it’s part of my class,” Park replied. “Even though I can’t transform, it looks like I still have access to some of my powers.” Park’s class allowed him to use a skill called Sanctuary Aura, which passively healed nearby allies within a set range. If he channeled energy through direct touch, he could speed up the healing process significantly. He also had a skill called Judgment Slash, which concentrated power into his fists for a single decisive strike, but it required close-range contact, and Park wasn’t too confident in pulling that off just yet. “You’ve got a pretty handy ability there,” Olivia commented. “Maybe it’s best if we try to draw Ghost in instead of rushing him.” Xin nodded in agreement, as did Midwak, who still hadn’t moved from his position, silently observing everything. “What was that punch earlier?” Xin asked Kevin. “It actually worked.” “Oh… that?” Kevin rubbed his fist. “Remember when we were watching Gary train with Qi? I tried to mimic it. I’ve been practicing a bit on my own since then, and during that hit, I just gave it a shot.” Xin’s eyes lit up. She too had tried dabbling in Qi manipulation during their time with Gary. Perhaps… this gave them a real chance. “Come on!” Xin taunted, stepping forward. “You can’t even take us down? I thought you said you were an Ironfang. If you can’t deal with a few half-transformed nobodies, maybe we’ll just walk out of here ourselves!” “It’s obvious what you’re trying to do,” Ghost replied coldly. In his transformed state, Ghost had a piece of cloth tied to his arm, a tattered mask that once covered his face. Now, as the tension mounted, he reached down and untied it. “Midwak…” Ghost said darkly, “You should have warned them.” “All Ironfang members possess powerful items… and now, it’s time you watch each of your friends die, one by one.” The moment he finished speaking, the piece of cloth in his hand shimmered, then expanded. In the blink of an eye, it wrapped around Ghost’s entire body, and with a pulse of dark energy… he completely disappeared.
