My Werewolf System Chapter 1435

Chapter 1435: The Heart of Ice Ice didn’t need to hesitate. Not now. He had made his decision, and rather than waste time with second thoughts or spoken words, he chose action, letting his fists and his power speak for him instead. Gripping the two large clubs tightly in both hands, he slammed them into the shallow waters of the lake. As the force transferred into the ground, massive waves surged out from either side, racing toward Lupus with threatening speed. “That didn’t work the first time!” Lupus roared. He clenched his hand into a heavy fist, ready to smash his way through. “What makes you think it’s going to work a second time?!” But Ice wasn’t repeating the same move blindly. This time, while holding onto the clubs, he channeled his energy and condensed the weapons, reshaping them mid-flow into icy spears. With a sharp twist of his arms, he hurled them, one after the other. Lupus had already broken through the initial wave of ice with brute strength, smashing it apart with ease, but he wasn’t prepared for the follow-up. One of the spears came slicing through the cold mist, stabbing straight into his shoulder. Before he could react, the second spear came flying toward him, but there was a slight delay, just enough time for Lupus to activate his movement skill. As it struck, his form vanished, leaving behind only a fading afterimage. A trick. A blur of speed. But Ice wasn’t thrown off. He hadn’t lost sight of him. The first spear was still lodged in Lupus’s shoulder, a beacon that gave away his location even through the blur. Without wasting time, Ice placed both palms against the lake’s surface. The magic flared beneath his fingertips, and in an instant, massive columns of ice erupted around Lupus. Eight colossal icebergs rose up, encircling him from every direction, forming an unbreakable ring. Lupus looked around. His lips curled, unimpressed. This wasn’t a threat. This was just a wall. To him, the solution was obvious. He would jump. If that failed, he would claw his way up and over. No structure of ice could stop him. But then, something shifted. The temperature around him began to drop rapidly. The closer he was to the icebergs, the more the freezing aura crawled into his muscles. His legs. They were slowing. Becoming sluggish. And when he attempted to leap, his body didn’t respond the way he expected. He barely cleared the mid-section of the barrier, just enough to poke his head over. It came flying down from above and pierced him right in the stomach. It didn’t bury deep, just a scratch across his hide, but it was enough to knock him off-balance. Lupus growled, grabbed the spear mid-flight, and crushed it into shards with one hand. But his momentum was gone. He tumbled back down into the center of the ring. To create something … he’s putting everything into it, Lupus thought as he landed. He can’t keep this up for long. He must be close to his limit. Still, Lupus wasn’t concerned. There was another way out. He turned to the nearest iceberg and drew back his fist. With a loud snarl, he slammed it forward. The surface cracked. Then shattered. The chunk of the iceberg exploded into fragments, ice raining down around him. With the path cleared, Lupus stepped forward. Still standing on the other side. Still with his hands pressed against the water. Another iceberg erupted into place, replacing the one Lupus had just broken. The temperature dropped again, locking him back into the icy trap. The chill. The energy-sapping aura. It hadn’t gone anywhere. “What is this?!” Lupus shouted, spinning in frustration. “What’s the point of this?!” To him, it made no sense. The icebergs weren’t dealing damage. They weren’t stunning him. He could still break them with brute force if needed. It wasn’t a large-scale attack. It wasn’t restraining him. From his perspective, it was a colossal waste of energy, flashy, dramatic, but ultimately useless. Not too far away, someone was moving. The regenerative trait that activated when his health reached its lowest point had finally kicked in. A second wind, one he could only access once. But that was enough. His wounds had healed. His body was functional. Running back toward the fight. Just as he reached the perimeter, Ice shouted out. “Get away!” Ice barked, without turning his head. “Go back to the meeting point. Help the others!” “Don’t be stupid!” Apollo snapped back. “If I leave you here, he’ll kill you! You’re strong, yeah, but not strong enough to beat him alone!” Ice chuckled softly, his breath visible in the freezing air. “Let’s be realistic,” he said. “Even if it was the two of us, we couldn’t beat him. The best we can do is buy time. That’s all. And I’ll do everything I can to buy us that time.” He exhaled. “There’s no reason for both of us to die here.” Apollo’s fists clenched, and his body began to shake. Not from fear, but from rage. From emotion. What is it with these people? he thought. These damn Howlers… always ready to throw their lives away. Always doing it for someone else, even for people they barely know. “And why does it have to be you?!” Apollo shouted. “Why are you the one staying behind? Let me do it! I’ll hold him back!” “Is it because you think you can last longer than me?!” Behind him, the shattered icebergs were reforming, new ones rising in their place. Then, two large clubs appeared in his hands. His fur extended, thick, white, and wild. It enveloped his entire body. His form grew bulkier, stronger. The transformation had begun. He was shifting into his full Mythical Form, into the legendary creature known as the Yeti. “My life…” Ice said, his voice heavy, “was already gone.” “I was meant to rot in a prison cell until the day I died. But Gary… he gave me a second chance. A way to make things right.” “He gave me the chance to use my life for something good. So going out , fighting to protect others…” He gripped his clubs tightly. “It’s the best way I could go.” As another iceberg shattered behind him, Ice charged forward. He ran straight into the freezing zone he had created. The arena of ice and cold, built by his own will. And just as he entered, another iceberg rose up at the rear, sealing the ring off. No one else would be getting in. And no one would be getting out. For updates on MWS and future works, follow me on my social media below.
