My SS-Rank Witcher System Chapter 36

Felix was startled by the realization that he wasn’t alone and that whoever it was had evaded both his natural danger instincts and the [Spectral Resonance] skill. He was about to stumble back in alarm when he remembered he was in his domain. He was a god here and had absolute authority. Whoever it was would have to answer to him or be ready to face his divine wrath. He quickly composed himself so as not to give the other party the advantage of fear and boldly stepped forward, walking toward the figure behind the table. The figure suddenly disappeared from their seat, which made Felix pause in alarm, but they reappeared before the table and began walking toward him. Felix could now make out the slender figure to be female. She had long, black, silky hair that flowed onto her back and a black flowing gown that had a lighter material just around the abdomen area, revealing the flawless skin of her midriff and lower back. Now just a few feet away from Felix and still approaching, he could clearly see her face but was stunned at the sheer beauty the lady embodied compared to any woman he’d seen or come across. Felix didn’t let himself fall for it and lifted the Deathrizzler to hover by his side with its tip dangerously aiming for the demoness. The fact that she had evaded his detection meant she was no ordinary being and was probably fast enough to disarm or attack him in a split second, but she definitely wouldn’t be able to stop the sword that he could move at a speed close to the speed of light under the influence of the now Lv7 [Telekinesis] skill. "Hello, Felix. I certainly wasn’t expecting you this soon," the lady spoke with an alluring voice and a soft smile, but her facial expression overall remained passive. "Who are you?" Felix calmly asked. The lady paused to look Felix in the eyes for a moment before she finally said with a short bow, "I am the human personification of your spirit animal and do not bear any name except if master wishes to bestow one upon me—" she was still saying when Felix’s Deathrizzler whizzed across her cheek, drawing blood, and was back at Felix’s side the next moment. Felix didn’t need to utter a single word to pass the message that he wasn’t buying any of that bullshit and wasn’t scared to hurt pretty girls. The lady looked neither scared nor angry at Felix. Instead, the corner of her lips crept up in a smirk. "I would’ve been disappointed if you fell for it." Of course, how could he fall for that? There were no such things as the human personification of spirit animals. Though Felix’s class system had proven to be different and wild from the others, the lady, from the start, had an air of superiority about her, which a spirit animal shouldn’t have. Felix would’ve found it more believable if she had just come out to claim she was the Witch Master. "Are you the Witch Master?" Felix asked the next moment. "I wouldn’t dare claim the title of the Lord of Darkness." She calmly replied as she began walking around Felix with her arms crossed behind her back, to which Felix followed her with his eyes. The lady paused in her steps to look at Felix with interest. "Are you sure you’re ready for that right now?" she asked, hinting at something deeper. She didn’t reply until she arrived around Felix, now standing toward the castle doors with Felix standing toward the reception table, like they’d switched positions. Then she turned to face Felix. "Very well, then." "My name is Lilith. Second in order to the Lord of Darkness, the Witch Master." The lady—or should Felix now call her, Demoness—introduced with a prideful smile and posture. Her tone filled with reverence as she mentioned the Witch Master’s name. Felix was certain now she wasn’t bluffing. "And who am I?" he deliberately asked, as his heart rate spiked. He was scared, yet eager to know why the Witch Master had chosen him and what role he was to play in all this. "You seem quite informed," Lilith said with a cunning smile. "Who am I?" Felix asked again, quickly. Lilith disappeared from the spot to reappear just behind him. "You?" she asked. Felix quickly spun around to face her. But he wasn’t afraid anymore. He wasn’t afraid that she’d stab him in the back, as they were basically both of the same allegiance. He just wanted to look in her eyes as she revealed it to him. "You, Felix, are his Champion!" The demoness said it like it was an honor. But before Felix could ask any more questions, a warning message flashed before his eyes, followed by a long list of notifications attacking his vision. Fresh chapters posted on NoveI-Fire.ɴet [Ding! Your affiliation has changed to ’Dark Champion’] [Ding! All undead-type mobs shall cease to attack you unless provoked] [Your class system has been upgraded] [Ding! Goddess Zemira is curious toward you] [Ding! Goddess Shion is surprised toward you] [Ding! God Kaigen is excited toward you] [Ding! Goddess Shannara is displeased toward you] [Ding! You have received 49.94 bronze coins endorsement fee from God Kaigen] Felix was dumbstruck, as just when he thought he understood the first notifications, the rest that followed it after were absurd. Goddess Zemira was currently watching him at the moment? And that wasn’t even the craziest part. There were other Primordials just like the Goddess Zemira watching him. And he could clearly see their intentions toward him. One bastard had even endorsed him with 49 coppers that couldn’t even buy a stale loaf of bread and accommodate him for just a night in even the cheapest motels in Vastoria. Just what the fuck was going on? Why was everyone watching him? Felix looked up at Lilith for answers to see she was smiling approvingly. "As you may or may not know, a few centuries ago was the Great War between the two factions led by Goddess Zemira and our lord, the Witch Master," Lilith began. "Our?" Felix mused in disbelief. "In the war, a lot of Primordials were killed, which resulted in the devastation of their worlds, and their inevitable end with the billions of life in it." "Worlds?" Felix only knew of two worlds, being Earth and Vastoria. "A pact was then called between the three major primordial factions that a war of such scale would never repeat itself, and to settle their differences, a Champion could be chosen from amongst the Sages across worlds to carry out their will," Lilith calmly explained as she walked back to her seat behind the table. Felix was still unable to comprehend even a single word she’d said, but only had more questions. "At the Sage banquet, do you remember what the old man had said about the majority of the Sages being dead?" Lilith asked, which stunned Felix as to how she knew about it, but he still nodded, remembering the day like it was yesterday. "That was partly true. Though a great number of Sages have died trying to keep the dark faction in check, a selected few were declared missing and thought to be dead. But in actuality, they were simply chosen as Champions and are probably in some other world carrying out the will of their Primordial." "As for you, Felix. You have been chosen to be the Witch Master’s Champion... and our lord’s will is to destroy the Dark Lord."
