MY FOOT STAYED on the big gate of the Del'torre's house. I’ve been there a few minutes but I can’t knock on the doorbell.
"C'mon Cherry, you can!" I barely whispered to myself to give myself courage.
At that point, I bravely rang the doorbell and suddenly someone came to open the gate for me. But that's how I backed away when the man who opened the gate for me.
"Rex!" I pronounced. I immediately bowed my head to the floor.
"Come on in," he said coldly.
I didn't even look up at him and would have gone straight in when he stopped me. "Cherry let's talk."
I closed my eyes before daring to face him. I also did not forget to check him with a look before I opened my lips to it. "What do you want?" I asked him sharply.
"About your fucking suitor, he is not good for you. Drop that asshole down!" he ordered,
"Excuse me?!" I said sarcastically, glancing at him.
"That's an asshole!" he began to raise his voice in frustration.
"Huh, you don't even know how to respect girls, so how can you say he's not good for me?" I scolded, raising my chin with excessive force.
"Damn, don't return the accusation to me!" he said coldly between his quick breaths.
I grinned and shook my head in annoyance. "There's nothing good going on in this conversation," I said frankly.
"No, you stay away from that man," he commanded.
My mouth opened slightly in surprise, what did he just say? I shook my head.
"Are you out of your mind? Do you have no right for interfering with my personal life? It's not you who decides who I should love!" I shouted in rage. My eyes turned red and reddened, the emotion suddenly flared up inside me.
He couldn't answer because he saw the three of my tears welling up. He immediately approached to hug me but I firmly restrained it to retreat.
"No, don't come any closer." I stop him.
"Look, I'm sorry," he said sincerely and took a step closer.
There was no reason for me to hold back my tears, I was devastated. I don't feel anything under my skin and am devoid of emotion.
I could do nothing when he hugged me tightly. I tried to loosen up but he seemed to be trying to eat away all my strength.
"I'm sorry, I apologize so much for hurting you," he barely whispered to me.
"Please stop this Rex!" I tried to get away from him and I succeeded.
"Stay away from me," I said with great trepidation.
"I can't do what you say." He shook his head.
"Please Rex, can you let me go?! Nothing will happen if you force yourself on me because we both know who you want!" I frowned and stepped away from him.
"No, it's you. It's you, I want to be with you," he said softly.
I repeatedly nodded, "Stop this Rex!"
He didn't speak anymore because his gaze was focused on my back. I quickly wiped away the tears and simply adjusted myself.
"Cherry, I want to show you something!" Lara told me, from my behind. "Okay." I quickly followed her and without saying a word I left Rexon.
My eyes wandered around the room because the room allotted to me was fully equipped from the Flat-screen TV that would be a small fridge I had, The single bed that was there was different instead of the queen-sized bed that was there that I could put of bedding.
"Thanks to Rex, he bought all these things for you. You seem to be comfortable sleeping." Lara added.
I remained standing and said nothing. I don’t know if I should be happy or it’s better to say disappointed. "Hey, are you okay?" Lara lightly touched my arm.
"Of course, I'm fine. How's Carlson? Can I visit him for a moment? I missed that boy." I said, then smiled at him.
"Sure, he's in that crib in the living room," Lara replied.
I also quickly turned around to go to Carlson. "Ah, Cherry!" she stopped me so I quickly dealt with her.
"This Sunday is Rexon's birthday, I would have liked to surprise him even with a simple gift," she started, while staring at my reaction.
"What do you want me to do to help?" I asked.
"I'd like to take you to go shopping later, so she can buy you a present if it's okay with you?"
I heave a deep sigh before answering. "All right no problem," I answer back. She smiled at me then so I quickly turned to go downstairs.
Even if it hurts for me, I am ready to endure the pain. Because today I will start to forget him and I will only do that when I finally leave this house.
I stared slightly to tear the curtain blown by the wind. I still wanted to sleep because of the softness of the bed I was lying on but I couldn't because there was a lot of work today.
I got up and started cooking and cleaning the house. It's a kinda usual day to me, nothing is too special today... Despite Rexon's birthday.
"Ah, Cherry please tell Rex when he arrives I just have a meeting with Mr. Gallagher." she catches my attention as I go downstairs.
"Rexon?" I asked.
"Yes, why?" There is nothing in this question while adjusting the earing on her ear. I chose not to answer. I don't want to think that I'm still uncomfortable with Rex.
"You take care of Carlson first, please also tell Rex that I will take care of the party later, " she added.
I stopped at what was done and slowly turned towards her. "All right," I said softly.
Rexon's birthday hasn't registered in my mind yet and I'll only be wrestling for a week before I can leave here.
He didn't exist before but my world seems to have stopped spinning. My mind is freezing, I don't know how to deal with him now after what happened between us.
I jumped off to my seat from hearing the successive car horn from outside. I did a few swallows first before I walked out of the yard and I didn’t even mistake it's Rexon!
My hands were shaking so badly. I could hardly turn the gate open. I took a few sighs before I opened the gate to let the car in. I also closed my eyes tightly when I heard the door of his car close.
I first filled my chest with air before facing him. Now that my attention is focused on me.
"G-Good morning," I stuttered, then firmly bit my lips nervously. I took heavy steps towards the doorway without even looking at him.
"Cherry..." He restrained my arm. His voice was melted by the sound of the place but I preferred to pull my hand here.
"Come in first, I'll make you something to drink, what do you want water, juice, or wine?" I said casually, I also ignored my vibration at him.
"Where is Lara?" he asked me instead, ignored what I said.
I smirked and turned my face at him, "She's out, she's supposed to take care of the party later," I replied, before leaving him in the living room.
I have been clinging tightly to the table since I reached the kitchen. I could feel the muscle of my chin tremble like a child. I'm afraid to get attached again and lose again.
I shook my head, I shouldn't be affected by his presence. Everything I said would be meaningless if I gave up now. I gasped sharply when I heard footsteps approaching from the distance.
I know that Rexon was there, behind me. "Aren't you going to greet me with a happy birthday?" he whispered.
I shut my eyes and trying to figure out what's is to keep me from holding back my feelings. "What, exactly are you doing here?" I utter, words splintered to my mouthed.
"I want to ask you how you feel about me. But I never did because I was afraid I might not like what you have to say," he utter back, positioning his arm to both sides of the table. I smirked, lips quivered with so much pain.
"I know I've done shitty things on your plate, but please give me some time to prove your worth," he muttered, resting his chin to my frail shoulder.
I swallowed hard, then shook my head with a grimace. "I'm not your puppet anymore, I won't be submissive to you anymore and do what you want because you just said so. In the first place, we're not in the position to act like lovers, so you don't have to prove something to me! " I blurted out, suppressing emotions don't cry.
"You were never supposed to mean that much to me, But you know what? I did and that's the truth, that's what keeps me holding on because it hurts like hell to let you go," he barely whispered to me.
