MY MOUTH was as wide open as what I heard from Nicholas.
"Aside from being a model of the month, you will be featured in the magazine along with your modeling clothes plus, a personal interview regarding your backgrounds and your journey being a top model," he said directly.
I felt my throat go dry so without warning, I swallowed the wine and consumed it.
"Hey?" he told me while laughing.
His lips twitched in surprise. I also seemed surprised at my reaction.
"Y-yeah, I was just shocked by what I heard," I replied.
"You have to get used to it because this is your world now, Cherry," he said with twitched lips.
"I don't know what to answer, can I talk to Miss. Cindy first about this matter?" I hesitate to answer.
"I already talked to Cindy about my proposal. I also heard that you are only a part-timer with her company, well if you want I can also hire you as a part-timer model. I also want to talk to Rexon, is it true that you work with him? " he asked.
I swallowed before answering.
"Yeah, I haven't even talked to him about it yet," I shyly said after squinting my eyes to the glass of wine.
"Isn't it fair being his assistant is your job with Mr. Del'torre?" he asked again.
I frowned and slightly scratched my forehead.
"Yeah..." I answered and timidly smiled at him.
I heard him smirked and bringing his glass of wine to his lips. "He's insane," he said before sipping the wine from the glass.
I swallowed again, I am not stupid to understand what he is trying to say. I also don’t blame him for why he reacted like this about my job.
"I'm not saying being a personal assistant isn't a good job, but we both know that you deserve more than that." His black brows twitched in a silly way.
"M-Rex is nice," I whispered again.
I heard him grinned again at my answer so I tightened my grip on the cutlery.
"Is that so? That's not what I want to hear from you, but anyway I will set a meeting with you when you ar me available. " He changes the subject.
I said nothing but nod I can hardly absorb everything that is happening to me, even the recent fashion show earlier. Add to that seeing Rexon here which I didn’t expect.
I just focused on the food, I also avoided looking into his eyes that I knew were watching my every move.
"Cherry ?!" We turned to the newcomer almost at the same time.
"Jeff!" I said in shock. Like Nicholas, it is also wearing an Americana but some buttons have been removed from the top.
I didn't do anything when he kissed me on the cheek and without saying a word he pulled a chair from the other table and sit to my side.
I quickly turned to Nicholas who gently wiped a tissue towel from his lips.
"Ah, He's Mr. Nicholas Galvez." I hesitate to introduce him to Jeff.
"Hey, how are you?" Jeff patted Nicholas on the shoulder.
Suddenly, I felt ashamed because of his sudden approach to us.
"I'm good. How's your racket?" Nicholas answered.
I caught Jeff grinning at him before shaking his head. I turn to seemed surprised at the moment as they both looking each other intensely. I was not able to introduce Jeff to Nicholas because of their reaction.
"I heard your band has an upcoming concert? Well best good luck," he seriously said.
"I take that as a compliment!" Jeff just smiled at this which made my forehead furrow even more.
"Well, anything you want." He didn't stop him from answering that he turned his gaze to me.
I barely glanced at Nicholas who still had the same expression on his face, I also turned my gaze to Jeff who was also paying attention to me.
"Congrats on the success of your fashion show. We were surprised when I saw your glamorous ramp and own the stage tonight." His formality returned when speaking.
"Thank you," I shyly said, feeling nervous in his praise.
"And look what Rexon's face earlier? You're different!" He has no hesitation in saying that it made my heart melt.
"Oh, by the way where is Rexon?" Nicholas whispered in conversation.
"He's with Hannah," he answers.
"Hannah? The younger sister of Peter Monteverde?" he asked.
"Yup," he replies after turning around to me.
I immediately felt nervous because of the way Jeff looked at me.
"Your boss is busy with other girls, maybe I should talk to him later, privately," Nicholas told me to measure my reaction but I didn't give anything.
I nodded and looked around, carefully looking for him. Until I caught him while talking to a woman. I guess this is the girl that Jeff talked about.
Beautiful. I whispered to myself.
"By the way, I have to go with an
intermission number we should have had earlier, but Rex preferred to watch you first." Jeff smiled again with my attention still on him.
My lips parted at what he said, I felt very ashamed to think that he didn't have an intermission appearance because he preferred to watch the fashion show earlier.
"Really? He's very supportive of the boss!" Nicholas's wide smile can be seen in which has something to mean.
"Yes, of course! We support Cherry!" His prompt response to Nicholas and winked at me.
I, on the other hand, was rooted in sitting and it seemed to pull my tongue down so I couldn't say anything.
"I need to go," he said goodbye to us that did not forget to dab a kiss on my cheek.
I could do nothing but follow him with my gaze to the side where Skye and Zach were already setting up their instrument.
"He does like you, am I right?" Nicholas asked me an arousing question.
"He's being friendly to everyone," I answered back.
He just shook his head before smiling and focusing on the food. I didn't pay attention to his reaction because I turned my gaze to the band.
Where is Rexon? I'm asking myself because I saw them only testing the instruments but the vocalist is not yet there.
My question was answered when the band started playing without a vocalist. They only played instrumental songs while the dancers went to the ballroom one by one. And Rexon was there, dancing with his girl.
I held my breath because they almost hugged each other while dancing, they're also whispering some words while hugging each other. I couldn't handle the scene there so I bowed.
"Wanna dance with me?" Nicholas asking and offering his hand in front of me.
My eyes went up after looking back at Rexon who was about to hug the female dancer.
"Sorry but, I'm not wearing an appropriate dress." I refused.
"It's okay, you still look elegant with your simplicity," he smiled meaningfully at me
My both cheeks turn red. I don't know how to refuse him now.
"All right..."
I grasp his palm which quickly supports me upright to guide me on the dance floor. The music they played is a love song so there is no reason for me not to press my back closer to him. He is taller than me so he can dominate my body.
I could do nothing but stare him in the eyes. His dark chocolate eyes mesmerized me. It's like there's a magnet I can't avoid. Add to that his red lips that are ready for a kiss.
"You look better up close," he softly said and glanced down at my lips.
I bowed quickly, I didn't know what to answer because all sorts of nervousness were already flowing in my veins.
"If someone says you something good, take it as a compliment," he whispered again and explicitly touched my chin to keep our eyesight.
I bit my lip in nervousness. I don't know what to say. I was not prepared for what was happening. If he hadn’t been laughing in front of me I wouldn’t have been conscious.
"You're blushing," he laughingly said.
"Damn." I couldn't help but say, at that point, his hug tightened on my back.
