"Oh? How's Hannah!"
There was a moment of silence on the other line and a few heavy breaths were released before replying, "She fine, how is your day? When are you coming home?"
I was the one who could not speak. Ever since I talked to them, Dad, my mind has been arguing again.
Again, the heavy breathing that comes from his mouth intensifies the thunder of my heart.
Alright, I get it."
I firmly bit my lip because of the heavier sighs on the line.
"I'm sorry, Rex. This will be my last show. I'll be home after this. I just don't want to disappoint Dad, you know this is his dream for me."
I heard a soft laugh coming from him, I stopped speaking.
"I know, I'm not stopping you from what you want. If you're happy with your decision and love what you're doing, be it, I'm just here waiting..."
I bit my lip again at his answer. But he doesn't have the problem, it's up to me. What if, that would be a way for Hannah and him to be closer to each other? I can't bear to lose him again, not this time.
The air in my room was heavy with emotion. It was as if I wanted to cry out of frustration. I missed him. If I could just tell him to just come here I would have done it but it's not a joke and I have no intention of doing that even though I know he can afford the flight to the US.
"Thank you..." That was all I could say.
"Just do what makes you happy," he said so softly again.
"Uh, how are your parents? When are they going home?" I asked to lessen the tension.
"Maybe this coming weekend," he replied.
I am so sorry that I can’t see them. But at the same time, I was bitten by a thorn in my side. Because I'm not sure if they'll like me? Because of the distance between the two of us.
"Let's a video call," he said huskily.
Before I could answer he turned off the call. From there my cellphone rang again.
"Shit!" My heart almost jumps up at the top of my lungs. I quickly arranged my hair. I never had a chance to apply lipstick because of the speed of events.
"Hi!" His voice sends a shiver down my back. My heart slowly melted when I saw him on the screen.
"Oh... hi!" I almost stuttering.
He was leaning on his sofa. As in the past, he was in office attire, but some buttons were open on the chest and his necktie was also untied.
I gasping uncontrollably, Oh! Sweet Lord, how could he be so gorgeous above all?
He glanced at his wristwatch before saying, "Have you had dinner yet?"
I nodded one after another. Five hours is the difference in their time here. It's seven o'clock here while it's one o'clock in the morning.
He raised his hand and stroked the lip with his index finger. I immediately swallowed. What is he doing? Does he visit what I’m wearing?
"I'm glad you're not wearing your bathrobe tonight." The corner of his lips tugged upward as he scrutinized my nighties more.
I bent down to peek at the nighties I was wearing. Shit! I’m also not wearing a bra! Damn it!
"Cher, It's hard to sit here while watching you wearing that dress." His jaw clenched hard and looked at me dimly.
My color deepened, "Oh, I'll just change clothes."
I was about to get out of bed when he spoke again, but I almost jumped suddenly when he pulled on his necktie and took off his white polo.
"W-What are... you doing?" That alarming question.
Instead of answering he stood up and walked into his room. He dropped his cellphone on the nightstand. Now I can see the entirety of him as he enters his walk-in closet.
I swallowed hard, Come on, Cher, relax! Surely he will just change...
I could barely move when he came out of her walk-in closet. How come he just wearing boxer shorts and no other cover.
My lips were parted while scanning his whole body. From bottom to top, and from his broad chest to his protruded muscles and perfect abs.
"Wait... What are you doing?" I leaned against the headboard as he walked over to his cellphone.
He picked it up again and climbed into bed, and then he leaned his back against the headboard.
"Why babe, did you find me sexy?"
He lowered the camera to the lower part of his body where his abs were exposed to me again.
"Rex!" I almost shouted his name because of what he did. He returned the camera to his face. He's teasing me with a soft smile on his face.
I sent him a threatening look and he returned it with furrowed brows.
"Why, my love? Aren't you used to seeing this soon to be your husband?"
A flush of warmth rose in my both cheeks. What he did just said?
He lay down and put his arm on the pillow to make a pillow and watched how I was stunned by what he was saying.
"I'm sorry, I guess I'm assuming too much, Mrs. Del 'Torre." His voice was very gentle. If I didn't know it I would say it's just a joke but I can see in his eyes it's not a joke.
I felt my face burn more and my heart began to pound so heavily. I drew in a trembling breath and gave him an astonished glance.
Its smile widened even more on me. He lick his lower lip and looked dimly.
"I was thinking, maybe I should visit you one of these days."
I swallowed and blinked, there I said nothing.
