I WOKE UP early the next morning because today was my flight to Singapore.
I reached for Dad facing the table while reading the newspaper.
"Good morning, Dad." I greeted him after going straight to the coffee maker to make coffee.
"What time is your flight?"
I turned to him and sat across from his seat, "It's ten o'clock in the morning, " I answered.
He didn't take my eyes off the newspaper I was reading so I started eating breakfast ready on the table. I’m sure he cooked it for me.
My gaze rose quickly to him as he dropped the newspaper in front of me. That’s where my gaze fell on the headline written there.
My lips almost trembled as I stared at the photo of Rexon and I took last night. They caught how I did slapping on Rexon's face and pushing him away, as well as our argument was very clearly captured.
"Does that mean why you're not in the mood yesterday?" He gently asked me," Andrew said he saw you crying upstairs in your room last night."
I pursed my lips. I never thought our argument last night would go public. Especially to explain to Dad that has no idea what's going on.
"You don't have to keep it a secret from me about the state of your relationship with Rexon. As much as possible I don't want to interfere with you. But it's not good what I read in the newspaper."
I bowed and said nothing. He is right. We shouldn’t get to this point.
"Rexon isn't an ordinary person. He only moves a little with a camera, you should know that, Cherry. I just don't want you to get hurt in the end."
I nodded slowly at him. I made a mistake and rushed into my action. I'm sure it will rain again with this issue about us. I am also certain that Rexon's camp will not allow them not to state this.
"I'll fix this problem. Don't worry, dad." I grabbed his hand on the table before trying to smile.
He didn't comment yet so I quietly resumed eating.
While preparing for departure my cell phone could not stop ringing. Nicholas, Jacky, and Farrah are calling, so is Cindy that I can't answer.
Eventually, I chose to just turn off my cell phone and sail to the airport. But I was so surprised by the number of reporters waiting for me to get of the taxi cab.
"Ms. Cherry, what can you say about the spreading issue that you are the third party in the relationship between Logistic band star Rexon and Hannah Monteverde?"
I adjusted the wearing shades and skipped them. I also couldn't escape Rexon's fans who shouted at me without opening their mouths but saying that I would grab them.
"Miss. Cherry, please answer our question!" Reporters chased me.
It was good that Nicholas and some staff were there to approaching me. They also didn’t have a chance to follow me because of the tight security of the airport.
"I called you a thousand times!" Nicholas's voice was hard but controlled as he leaned over me.
"I'm sorry, I don't want you to get involved in this issue." I adjusted wearing my shades while walking into Immigration.
"Well, we're already in the issue. My name and my company." His voice was still serious.
There I took off the shades I was wearing and glanced at him. I wanted to talk but I knew we weren’t in the right place to talk about it.
Until we boarded the plane I still chose to keep silent. We sat side by side in the first-class seat but he was still silent too. I knew it was wrong to ignore his calls but I think I made the right choice.
We had a short trip so I wanted Nicholas and me to be okay before we went down.
"Are you mad?" I leaned on his shoulder.
I closed my eyes when I heard his heavy sigh. At that point, I felt his hand touch my shoulder, down my arm.
"You know, I won't get easily angry when it comes to you. I just don't want your job to be affected by your issue with that man."
My lips twitched. As much as possible I don’t want to talk about the issue of Rexon and me. Even though I turned out to be the third party to his rumored girlfriend Hannah.
"I don't have anything to say about your issue with that bastard, but I won't allow them to ruin your name," he said to me and the kiss touched the trunk of my hair.
"My staff is working on how to defend the issue."
I raised my head here in astonishment. He looked down at me so I arranged to sit next to him.
"What do you mean, fixing?"
"My staff is there to refute the spreading issue and to make sure that the issue about the spread of your stupid boyfriend is covered up."
I blink my eyes. I could not understand what he meant.
"You mean, you're going to make a new issue to cover up Rexon and me's issue?"
"Yes, that's what the other celebrities do to get rid of the issue."
I held on to the aching head. Whatever his plan is I will not interfere. After all, even if I speak, no one will believe me. They are even more likely to believe Rexon when he deals with the issue.
We landed at Changi Airport after three and a half hours. Because we were tired of the trip, we went straight to the hotel to rest.
Since my phone was offline before, I didn't even try to open the internet because surely the news about Rexon and me was the only thing that blinded me.
I had just finished taking a bath when Farrah knocked for dinner. I just wanted to deliver dinner here but Nicholas said he wanted me to come down.
Wearing my casual black dress I went down with Farrah. This is exactly what drove me into a restaurant in the lobby right of the hotel.
"Farrah, what is this?" I said while focusing on Nicholas standing right next to the table which is set for the dinner date for two.
"He asked for my help, so here we are. Enjoy your dinner. We're early tomorrow." Farrah leaves me with a wink of an eye and a flying kiss too. She didn't wait for me to say anything because she was running out fast.
"I hope this stuffed didn't surprise you." Nicholas smiled at me. He held out a hand that I did not refuse to reach.
"What is this, Nick?" I frowned at the question as he guided me to sit down.
"A friendly date. It's not bad to have dinner with you. And look around, we're not in the Philippines, your paparazzi can't follow you here." Her smile widened even more on me.
I didn't do anything when this hotel's bestseller food was served to us because I just tasted Singaporean food. I also really enjoy talking to Nicholas that made my heart relax.
